I tried a few snacks and found seasoning that I needed for my ramen! I will return. I also appreciate the labels of most products including an English sticker of ingredients. But anywho, if you need a reason to visit, just do it!! The market is open year round with most vendors returning every week. There were a lot of gluten free vendors, fresh eggs, fresh vegetables, pickles vegetables, a mushroom vendor with different varieties of mushrooms, coffee, jewelry, everything! There is also free parking in designated areas. You can also buy prepared food from other vendors below. It's overall a very nice market. I don't go as often as I would like but if you are near the area or just like a good farmers market, give this one a try. It's also connected to a park so your kids can have a little fun while you explore.

The Avondale Estates Farmers Market was no exception for me; it's pretty terrific. There were maybe about 30 vendors with all sorts of goods up for grabs: produce, pastries, prepared foods, teas, housewares, stuff for pets, international cuisine, jewelry, soaps, and more. Most proprietors seemed to accept both cash and credit cards. They were all smiling and some even offered samples. The Avondale Estates Farmers Market is located in a roomy parking lot next to My Parents' Basement (also a neat spot). Speaking of parking, the official website for this market doesn't mention any parking options. It seems like attendees were just parking on the streets behind the market. Some people might've been parking in lots for businesses closed Sunday, but I'm not sure. The market is held Sundays shine or rain, from 10 AM to 1 PM, all year round

My family has been coming here to grocery shop for like 20 years. You could probably find anything…read moreSouth Asian cuisine related here. In recent years, they have really upped their game when it comes to prepared foods. There's a restaurant; a hot food bar with a lot of fried Indian classics (I'm partial to their bonda- basically just a big ball of sweet fried dough, not the healthiest lol but very nostalgia-inducing); a bakery (can't go wrong with laddoo, gulab jamun, or jalebi); and fresh coconut water and sugarcane juice. This time, I got the sugarcane juice (so refreshing! so cheap! it was even better cold) and two types of gulab jamun that I've never had before. Indian desserts tend to be VERY sweet, so be forewarned. Ambiance & service are fine (it's a grocery store), although restrooms could be better maintained. Lots of free parking available. 7.5/10 would recommend!

While I don't shop here for groceries, the produce always appears to be fresh & the aisles are neatly organized. I have only returned for their mango lassi and their hot food which is A1. Now, I'm black. When I go I'm usually the only black person there, which isn't an issue but no one really speaks English if you need assistance. There are some Hispanic employees, so if you know some Spanish you'll be ok. As I've stated, I enjoy their hot food & mango lassi, when I've ordered here over the years, the cashiers usually aren't friendly... I do expect the basic level of customer service where I spend my money. On this particular February day, their lack of service bothered me. I, the customer, greeted the cashier and she just waved at me. I paid for my items and she was speaking to the coworker while she was giving me my change and preparing my order. It was rude. When she gave me my items, I looked her right in her eyes and said thank you, have nice day, very pleasantly. It was ONLY then that she smiled and said have a nice day. I told her thank you, I just wanted you to be nice to me. She seemed surprised that I said this, I proceeded to tell her about her lack of service in the most lovingly way and again thanked her for my items. I don't know if I'll be returning there bc of this experience and my experiences over the years. I am not going to shop anywhere where I'm not treated with courtesy as a paying customer.
