I find Cherian's to be my pick for Indian groceries - less mayhem in the parking lot, not too busy, plenty big store, and good prices. Frankly, I prefer Cherian's when it comes to buying fresh vegetables too - really fresh and a good variety (vegetables)! As with many grocery stores, you will find certain products that are packaged especially for Cherian's so you may have to find comparables if you have been used to certain brands/labels. However, prices for those are usually very competitive and the quality is just as good. The store is organized well, and is clean. With all the space available (never found it to be super busy) it's easier to shop than at say Patel Brothers. Checkout is easy and the staff is usually very friendly. I do like their eatery, which is inside the store - again great prices and tasty Indian snacks. They even prepare fresh juices (sugarcane, coconut) I believe. I find myself always leaving the store with a few snacks from their eatery. A few cons: They don't have all the choices as compared to Patel Brothers. I think they stock based on demand and items that don't sell a lot are a rare find. The staff doesn't seem very knowledgeable (unless you find the experts right at checkout), so if you are looking for certain things it may take you a while to flag the right person down or just search yourself. Bottom Line: if you are in the area shopping for Indian groceries, give this place a try. You might get what you need with a lot less hassle.

I accidentally stumbled upon this gem after leaving DeKalb County Utility Operations Office. Cherians is nestled behind other buildings so if your not looking for it you'll miss it. I think this will be my new spot for exotic spices and Indian cuisine for preparing at home. The staff is super friendly. The store is clean the aisle are clutter free. The produce is fresh and ridiculously cheap. I purchase 5 lemons for $1 and 8 limes for $0.98. I can't even get a half a lemon for $1 at Publix. The store also has a Jamin Juice section were they make fresh drink. While your there you should check out the restaurant which has both ready to eat meals and quick bite options. There's also a seating area where you can relax and enjoy your meal.

Even after visiting all these years and after my first review of Cherians, I still absolutely love it! It's been that long?? I went back to get ingredients to make Chicken 65 and I tell you. I was in heaven with all the raw nuts I saw. There were also a lot of herbal oils. I never really cared to look that hard in the past but I see it now. That means I just have to come back for more. And I have. I've come back yet again before I updated this review. Box ingredients are on point. My Desi cooking has really gone up a notch and I have turned hubby into liking some Indian cuisine. Success! He is really particular and won't dine out at Desi restaurants with me but if I make it at home, he likes it and will eat it. The food court must have changed management cause the Punjabi samosas were delicious. I've had in the past and didn't like. I saw Aloo Bonda and was sooo happy. It's like one of my faves! I don't see it at a lot of places either. It is yummy. I'm not a fan of the chutneys but the food is so delicious that I don't need it. Oh yeah, I also got fresh coconut water! Yummy! When I finally drank it empty, there was still juice later when I let it sit. Man, the coconut was hard to open but I finally managed to do so and ate all the coconut flesh. Yummy. I'm coming back for you Cherians! 51/2019

This place is one of my regular Indian grocery buying place. I always find what I am looking for from veggies, frozen items and some Indian household things and the most important are the snacks and sweets. Worldly market with an Indian & Pakistani focused & a full range of groceries plus mostly Indian cookware items. Very organized and a huge selection. Love to go their for Indian/Bengali/Pakistani groceries/spices. Also liked their small non-fancy cafe for Indian comfort food. The store is clean and everything is in apple-pie order. On entering, it looks very Western, but it is definitely mostly South Asian in inventory and patronage. Herbs/spices department extremely well-stocked. Any kind of dal you want is there. The in-house coconut drink was refreshing and also you can try their freshly made sugarcane juice for refreshment, and the prepared foods counter is very appealing. Good selection of Indian sweets too. The incenses inventory was beyond expectation. Lots of durable goods for sale, including cooking implements. Cherians International Groceries has been located in the heart of Atlanta for over thirty years now. They currently have two convenient locations in Decatur, Georgia and Cumming, Georgia. They provide with great quality products, quality service, and unbeatable prices compare to other grocery stores in the area. They carry fresh fruits and vegetables, some homemade snacks and sweets, tour luggage, cookware, and groceries from all around the world but mostly from India. If they do not carry what you are looking for, just let them know and they will try to order it for you. They are open seven days a week and open late for holidays time. If you do not live in the area and would like groceries shipped to you, just place your order online and they will mail it to you. They have ample free parking in front of the store and around the area. Always look for specials at the time of Indian festival times. I look forward to my next shopping trip.

Cheapest and best Dosa probably in all of Atlanta!

Best and cheapest Dosa in probably all of Atlanta. Their little cafe on the side is so much better than the nearby restaurants like Chatpati, Gokul Sweets etc. For Indian groceries, I like Cherian's better than Patel Brothers. Much less crowded and less chaotic with the same competitive prices. Its a must visit for me whenever I am in town.

Just in case anyone was looking for brain curry mix!

I love the dosa and vada here, I believe it's best in town. Price is reasonable and it placed inside the grocery store.

They have a large parking lot, which is always full as Patel Plaza has a lot of other Indian eateries and shopping. I prefer going in the evenings when it's less busy but you may have to pick a good day as they get their replenished stock every week (don't know which day - but it's the best time when all shelves are stocked and the food is super fresh). Prices are very reasonable - sometimes even better than Kroger or Publix. They have the best assortment of Indian groceries - hands down. After the renovations the place feels more airy. Staff is always willing to help. The only annoyance I have is that most of their shopping carts are broken and/or staff doesn't get them back from the cart drop off spots to the entrance at regular intervals. In spite of this, Patel Bros will still be my go to Indian grocery spot as long as I'm in ATL.

If you're familiar with Nam Dae Mun, this is similar--but with way more authentic Indian and South Asian variety. Every section of the store had something new to discover. From fresh produce I couldn't even name (seriously--I was Googling as I browsed ), to aisles full of spices, snacks, and ingredients you won't find in your average grocery store. We didn't even make it down every aisle, but what we saw was enough to guarantee we'll be back. The produce section was especially impressive--loaded with unique fruits and vegetables I didn't know even existed. Definitely a place where you'll want to do a little recipe research before you fill your cart. As for prices, I was hoping for a bit lower, but considering these are imported goods and the joys of tariffs and trade, I get it. Bottom line: A must-visit if you're into cooking, curious about global cuisine, or just want to expand your pantry in a flavorful direction. I'll be returning soon--this time with a recipe list in hand!
