Cannot say enough good things about this Aldis. The cheese selection is great and actually makes making a charcuterie board affordable. Tons of variety of meats, cheese, candies, etc. I love the changing aisle of shame, I always seem to leave with something for my house. The employees keep the store tidy and organized. I wish I had an Aldi closer to where I live bc for the price and quality this place is best hands down no frills supermarket!

Just wondering if anyone has had a negative interaction with the manager of the Aldi on Milton Avenue in Camillus, because I did. I placed an Instacart order for pick up and received a message saying a 12 pack of soda on my list was not in stock. I found this suspect because two days prior they had many in stock. Of course they could have sold in the interim, but I suspected they didn't and I was right. When I arrived there for the order I went inside and lo and behold the flavor soda on my list, the one they said was "out of stock" was there - and there were many. The issue was likely that the Instacart shopper assigned to pack my order was just too lazy to remove a few boxes of other flavors to reach mine. When I questioned why I was told this item was out of stock when it was clearly invisibly in stock - Joe, the manager came out to speak to me. He was rude and abrupt and said to me: "we make mistakes because we are human." I told him this wasn't a mistake. This was more like laziness because it's a bright green box and you can see it from the register. His response was: "well that's my answer" and he walked away. The cashier standing next to him, looked at me sympathetically and just shook her head like she couldn't believe his attitude. Not only that, he was sloppy and it looked like he hadn't showered or washed his hair in a very long time- and his hygiene was very off-putting. The pickings must be slim if this is the guy Aldi wants as the face of their store in Camillus. His appearance kind of made my skin crawl. The reason I am mentioning that is because they are a food retailer and people who work around food should look clean, and he didn't. Also- when I went to use the bathroom before I left, it was absolutely disgusting with an overflowing trashcan, hair on the sink, and the soap dispenser was empty. I wasn't surprised. Totally gross appearance- just like the manager. They get an extra star because the employees are super nice. Joe could learn something from them. UPDATE: within one hour of contacting Aldi customer service I received a phone call from their corporate office to discuss my negative experience. Aldi is one of my favorite places to shop and that's not going to change, but I felt it necessary to let the Corporate Office know that the manager in Camillus is not an appropriate representative of their brand. I'm confident they will address this with the "manager" and the reason managers in quotes is because according to the representative, I spoke to from Corporate, there is no manager named Joe at that location. Absolutely disgusted in your customer service will NEVER shop here again. Was approached by an employee with a horrible attitude, the employee was shoveling at 10:30 this morning when I pulled to let my wife off to grab just 1 orange juice and she accidentally got out of the car with my key, so I was unable to move the car, and I apologized to him and said she will be right out and he responded by " I need to fucking shovel" then came up to my car 2 minutes later swearing that I need to move, then my wife came out of the store in just 4 minutes staring at her as she got into our car. Sick over the whole interaction, then tried to call the store and they do not have a direct store number. read more

This increases sales for each article, and lets Aldi shops be smaller than stores with more brand choice. Anytime I'm trying to save money on groceries, Aldi is the place to go. They have everything you need at a lower price, from vegetables to meats, milk and frozen products. For the most part, I find their products to be fine quality wise. This location recently had a remodel and is much nicer and easier to navigate inside now. The aisles are wider and broken in the middle now, so it's much easier to weave in and out than it used to be. Along with that, they've added a ton of new items for sale, and have a wider selection from just the bare essentials now, so you may not have to hit up another store to find something considered not your average item. Still gotta pay a quarter to take a cart, which as someone who doesn't carry cash, can be annoying, especially when you forget or decide to go there unplanned, but you can always use reuseable bags to carry your stuff. Employees are always friendly, probably because Aldi has a reputation of starting employees out at significantly higher pay rate than most grocery stores. If you're trying to save some money on your grocery bill, Aldi is the place to go. read more

Truth be told, I really love the products and the prices but why oh why is there ever only one lane open? It completely ruins the whole experience. read more

This is a good Aldi. When the fresh plants and flowers come in for spring it's like an old woman's blood sport to be first in line for a $4.98 begonia, but other than that it's pretty civilized. They have a lot of organic produce at conventional produce prices, but it does go fast. Unfortunately I haven't learned their receiving schedule so it's always hit or miss. I can't dedicate myself to shopping here because I like faster checkouts. I also like warmer stores, and brands I know. I like kittens too. Aldi pledges to not sell products containing hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, and added MSG. They did the conversion quietly without much press. Good job Aldi!
