You can find almost anything that you need for your grocery. However, there are no enough shopping carts, since sometime I have to wait until someone is finished using there cart. read more

An affordable grocery market stocked with store brand and a few name brand items. I found going early is the best option because if you go during late afternoons on the weekends, there are no carts available. Depending when you go, the store can be a chaotic and disorganized along with empty shelves for popular items. However, I find that they do restock often but sometimes (more often than not) you might be leaving without your favorite buys. Also, be sure to bring quarters for the carts and reusable shopping bags as they are not provided. read more

Not going to big up the place, because I found everything here. Well not everything, because I would have gave them 5 stars if they had spelt bread. Anyway, let's focus on this review. The place is not crowded at all like other supermarkets, I guess is because you need to purchase your own bags, but I can be wrong. Look we need to save the earth, right? Bring your own bags, I think? Oh well, not sure. Anyway they have everything including almond butter. I said IT! ALMOND FREAKING BUTTER!!!!!! Look here, you may think this black man is a fool, but you have to understand this, it is hard to find this gem in Brooklyn!!!! Ok do not go there, say "I know spot in west bubba %#&!," I couldn't find any in the BK, so stop. Can a black guy live and be happy? Almond butter making me tear right now... Kissing that container like it is my baby. Who is your daddy? Hmmm, what else I bought that was amazing? I bought steal cuts oats and agave nectar light. Look I am going to keep it real with you, I do not know what is agave nectar light, but bloody item was almost gone. So I had grab mine like it is Black Friday! The store prices is reasonable, no need to pull out your coupons. You do not need to beg the old lady for her, loyalty card. No no no, do not harass them! Why? ALDI prices are not bad at all! You will leave with a bargain. Ok ok ok.... Customers service rating? I would have gave them 5 stars, but two reps seem to be tired to properly assist me. I know is long day for them, that they need active bars located aisle 1. I will see if I will change my rating, next week when I go shopping during midday. Recommendations: Once get in the supermarket, stay focus, because you may buy the store out. I swear to god, I thought I was going to cook daily like I was a host of the food network channel! I was lifting items, while saying, "I always wanted to make this. I should make this week". Noooooooooooooo stick with the plan. Go in and get out read more

ALDI - Grocery Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

See all

The store layout is perfect! Very easy to navigate, clean, and the lines move quickly.

I love this grocery store. Probably one of the cheapest grocery stores in Brooklyn or even entire NYC. They have their own brands which don't bother me at all, if, for example, to buy chobani or fage yogurt at a regular grocery store you would spend between $1.49 to $2.49 then here, they have their own brand Greek yogurt coming at $0.79. Which is great. I go there each week because it helps to save lots of money. I can feed my family (family of 4) with under $90 per week. They have one of the cheapest chicken breasts for $2.29, sometimes even it's on sale and drops down to $1.49. It doesn't get better than that. Only side note is that there are always only 2 cashiers working so it's pretty slow. But totally worth the savings tho. Don't forget to bring your own bags or buy plastic there. read more

Cashiers are so rude. Every time I go, they are really nervous. I like the store but stuff is exactly opposite.

With the fact Trader Joe's owns Aldi, I expected oh so much! Before I stepped into the super market, I had an impression that this store will have affordable organic and gluten free products, OH WAS I WRONG. This store reminds of an extended grocery store you go to that's around the corner from you just for chips and soda. This store is very organized and clean, but theres not much to choose from at all! But, I did find sour gummy warms for 1.99! :) read more

Not a fan of this place I miss the pathmark lol I really do This place doesn't sell as much and it's made up store brand foods also bring your own bags think I will stick to stop n shop. I've only been to Aldi once since they opened and still not impressed read more

I used to go to Queens location. Compare to Queens, poor variety, messy, no attention to customers.

August 1st was the very much anticipated grand opening! If you, like me, has missed the Pathmark that used to be there, this store is different. It seems smaller even though the space is the same. The variety of food is limited, although I saw everything from sugar, to organic bananas, to throw pillows, to eggs and ice cream. I would say the jury is still out whether this will fulfill the demand that Pathmark used to bring to the area. I would also say that all the other mini supermarkets in the area don't have that much to worry about. One big negative, at least for me is that they don't accept credit cards. Others include: The shopping carts require a 25 cent deposit. You should also bring your own shopping bags. Best of luck to them. read more

Terrible. No signage about the nonsense of renting shopping carts. Boxes in the aisles, produce strewn all over the place. I couldn't even get my cart through the section. They were out of the things I was looking for. Dirty, no social distancing. Honestly, I was so disgusted that I left without buying anything. read more

Do not even attempt to shop here while the coronavirus is at large because the line to get in is literally around the corner. It has been like this for weeks. You're better off shopping at some smaller stores where you don't have to contend with such lines. Also, the aisles in the supermarket have no signage so you have a very hard time finding what your looking for. read more

This is my first and definitely last time at Aldi's online. Out of 6 items ordered, 4 were replaced with non-organic stuff, which I didn't want to order, I was not given a common courtesy of asking me what do I want! What right do they have to charge MY card for items they chose without my consent! Customer service is the worst I've seen, when I tried to cancel the order, I was directed to call non-working number, so they could shove the order down my throat. Their website is just as sneaky and not user-friendly. read more

Love this store! At first I was put off by the off-brands that look like the name brands of the same products. But I have researched Aldi's, and have learned that the food there is all organic and natural, and I like that. Also, I have tried many of the off-brand products, and have found the taste actually superior to the originals. Their spicy trail mix is delicious, and I love their coffee. Prices are much more reasonable than other stores, and I love that you have to bring your own bags - so much better for our environment. Also, there are all kinds of seasonal items - you never know what you will find there. This has become my favorite store to shop in. read more

I can respect a store that tries to save money for their customers, but selling all these bootleg products doesn't mean you are getting the best bang for your buck. I have to say that this store is just awful, we are in America and there are towns of stores like key food, c town, stop and shop, etc. that can give you great deals for good quality products, not this garbage they sell at Aldi cramped into four tiny isles. Tell me how they mix foods with laundry/cleaning supplies in the same isle, and how majority of produce is frozen and not fresh . The amount of fresh produce is so limited, the store just looks empty and sad smack down in the middle. All I wanted was some nice apples and oranges, instead I found only bags sold by the pound, and only one type of apple or one type of orange, why can't there be more variety? Why is there no organic stuff either? Majority of the meats were also frozen too, once again not much fresh stuff here. maybe I overlooked some decent products since it looks like a tornado hit the store, you cant tell what belongs in each isle. Meanwhile stores nearby in stop and shop are twice the size, it has twice as many products, and a lot of fresh items for a good price. there is no dumb credit card policies and you don't get charged for bags , and there is plenty of parking there too. I don't see a store lasting long on canned and frozen boot leg products. ill never step foot there again. read more

I placed an order and when I received it, 30% of my order was changed or missing WITHOUT me being aware of it. The Aldi shopper did not even bother to let me know; no text, no phone call no notice. I NEVER buy most of the stuff that was replaced. That is not good. Is that why Aldi is so cheap? Because they do not care about customer service? read more

I love this Aldi! As a vegan, I am able to buy bulk goober, soy milk, meatless chicken patties, fruits & veggies and always spend 80% less than I would at a normal store! I'd give it 10 stars! read more

Used to shop here all the time when I lived in Buffalo and I was happy to see a location in driving distance from my apt. 9 times out of 10 the store brand is just as good and sometimes better than what you would get in a "normal" store. They have stuff like agave nectar, almond butter, breakfast bars, Greek yogurt all for a ton less than the stores in my neighborhood. If you're a snob about name brands and won't bag your own groceries then just pay the extra money and shop at whole foods cuz I'm thrifty and I love this place! read more

You know, I wish I could write two separate reviews here. One for the actual shopping and one for the employees. I have been here many times now, about twice a week. Many dry goods are almost half the price. Also items like vanilla extract I paid $6.99 at Pathmark for a medium sized bottle and they have is below half at $2.79. Paper towels are 79 cents and milk was on sale one week for 99 cents a gallon(the following week was $2.99). I actually like the experience of shopping here. UNTIL..... You wait in line..... The store never seems to have more then forty people in it. Which is NOT good for their bottom line. About thirty are always in line. The line moves about one customer per five minutes and they almost NEVER seem to have more then two cashiers at one time. There is always someone cutting the line and always a fight. They have a security guard here who seems to always avoid the fights and is on his phone more then walking around the store. Seems like a waste of manpower as I would rather see another cashier for that money! These fights seem to happen more often then not. Out of all the times I was there, only twice I went without seeing a fight. The last time I was there, a guy and his wife cut me in line right as I was placing my items down on the counter. The cashier was shaking her head but still and all rang them up. I asked her NOT to ring them up because they cut the line. She said she doesn't get involved when these things happen but she did say she saw them cut the line. We had a few words and I dropped the "F" bomb on the customers that cut the line. The cashier who didn't say anything to the guy and his wife cutting did say to me that "those words will not be tolerated". I couldn't believe she actually said to me but didn't say one word to the cutters. For that, I truly have many issues with this place. That happened two weeks ago and I have NOT been back! I don't know if I will EVER go back. So far they lost about $250 from my shopping and I hoe corporate will read this. I guarantee with what is going on there, I am sure I am NOT the only one! read more

I don't mind at all that the the items here are non name brand. I mostly come here for the chips. They are a steal IMO. They are way cheaper even when they are at regular price. The parking lot on the bottom is horrible. People are scared and can't drive so they all take up two parking spots. You can park upstairs but its more of a hassle and inconvenience. Bring cash or debit, because they do not accept credit cards. Bring your own bags because they will charge! read more

I walked in the first time and noticed no name brand items. I walked out. A more open minded friend told me to go back and buy the ground turkey, she said its just as good as the name brands. She was right! Little by little I've picked up items and realized they taste just as good as the name brands. Fat Free Half and Half for instance is the same as the name brand. Produce is based on availability and what the store has at the time, so you have to go in without anything specific in mind. Bags cost money, but you can bring your own or buy them for a very cheap price. If your mind is open to new concepts and want to save a ton of money, try this store. I'm lucky to live so close. Lines are long but they move fast and they do accept debit or credit cards now. Try your luck, thank me later. read more

Great prices usually 30% to 50% less then other stores. I like to think of them as a mini BJ's. You can buy bulk or single. There meat is definitely cheaper. read more

I'm in love with this place. Aldi has significantly improved in quality over the years. I found some great deals here and would definitely recommend giving it a try. If you are hung up on names brands then Aldi is not for you. read more

Went Shopping There for 1st time 12:15 Yesterday since Nostrand Ave Store was redone. Much easier getting into Aisles. Found what we needed as well. The 2 issues I have is the location of the Pan Handler is by the entrance. They should ask him to move away from Entrance. I was glad to be of help to him but not by the door. Also after checkout a boy was standing on the counter where you bag groceries. No one told his parent to ask him to come down. In addition a guy had his cart by the counter the long way blocking part of the counter for use cause he was texting. I almost could not bag my groceries because of him and the counter kid. Would give a 5 Star if not for this. read more

In our hard times it is nice to know that there are still affordable places to shop at. Aldis may not have the greatest selection, but it has the essentials: milk, bread, canned goods. There fresh meat, fruits, and veggies are a bit limites but they have the basics. Im not a name brand whore so this place suits my budget read more

Today was my second visit and I do like it very much, you can't beat the prices! The staff is outstanding & helpful...I will be back. I would of given it a 5 * if they had just a li'l better choice of household products & more low fat/low salt/ & low cholesterol dinners.. read more

My experience at Aldi is not great. For starters, they don't have the same products in stock consistently. I bought a frozen spinach pie and then returned on another day to purchase another pie. I have not seen it there again. This has happened other times, as well. Today I realized that I left something at the store when I was packing my stuff. I tried phoning the Sheepshead Bay store but the recorded message said that they endeavor to keep costs down by restricting phone communicagion. So how do you contact the store. Therefore, whatever money I saved , if I saved any money, has been lost. B ad enough you're on your own when it comes to packing purchases but as an older person, partially disabled, it is difficult to pack quickly which seems to be a requirement since the cashiers simply throw things into their adjacent cart. This is how I lost my Cheerios that I mentioned in the previous paragraph. Shopping at Aldi's will be extremely limited, if at all.. . read more

Wonderful prices and outstanding costumer service! Great brands. I love the white German chocolate! My favorite. These shoe string fries are really good too. My dad bought them the other day it was delicious. read more

Not crowded. Luke that they have parking. Would have given 4-5 stars, but the cashiet was a tad 'not-so-customer friendly'

I had not been to Aldi since my last review. Alas they take credit cards! Store has gone down hill. For starters the place is dirty. I use the parking lot roof parking lot and the elevator and the waiting area around it has not been cleaned in ages. The store itself has merchandise scatter about, the signage is as it was before, not easily identifiable to the merchandise sitting beneath the sign, again now the inside of the store is a dirty more so than in the past times i've been there. One item I have routinely purchased there is their canned chicken, which I use for chicken salads and sometimes to feed my cats as a treat. The quality is superb and the cost is a fraction of name brands you'd find in a supermarket. this is an excellent product so buy it if you use that kind ofa product also, if you use baking stuff, the buys hwere are worth the trip. read more

The people at aldi are very nice, I love the brands. The prices are very cheap compared to KeyFood and Mets Food. I just love this store.

I am still to figure out this store. Shoes are next to olive, and the layout just doesn't make sense. The employees are very unpleasant. We came in because their watermelon prices are the best during the summer. It was our first time there, and we didn't know that you need to buy a bag. I have no issue with buying a bag because they seem reusable, but it would be helpful if someone like the cashier told us this was an option. The store was pretty empty, and we were the first in line. Upon purchasing this enormous watermelon, I asked for a bag, and the cashier rolled her eyes and said "we don't give bags". She never mentioned that I can purchase one. This is just an example of really rude employees. So, we paid for our watermelon and my husband walked down the street with a watermelon under his armpit like it fell of the truck. While it made for funny Facebook posts, it nevertheless left a bitter taste in our mouths. read more

This was one of the most miserable shopping experiences of my life. The atmosphere in Aldi could absolutely be stepped up. The elevator to the parking lot was not functioning properly and got jammed on my way in. No music throughout the store, just miserable silence and the sucking of the cashier's teeth. The lines are incredibly long with only two registers open. The cashiers are yelling at the customers as if we are in the security line at the airport "please use dividers!" "No credit cards!". The cashier "Senaca" was by far the most miserable person I have ever encountered. Just speaking to people while rolling her eyes and not making any eye contact or addressing anyone. Sucking her teeth and sighing exasperatedly as if she's doing is such a favor by taking our money. For the first time in my life, I lamented that a store didn't have a self checkout to avoid dealing with this empty shell of a cashier. "Excuse me siiiiiiiiir, we don't take credit only debit.." Yes I heard you while you were yelling this at every person in front of me, that's why this is a debit card. Her response: "oh ok" sucks her teeth and let's out another sigh. Coming in with a smile and leaving with clinical depression should not be a trademark of a store that is so committed to customer service. Please make customer interactions a bigger priority for staff development! I can't see myself ever shopping at least at this location again. I'll send "Senaca" my therapy bills. read more

I love grocery shopping at Aldi's. When you're broke in the city this store is a blessing. I've shopped at Aldi's in North Carolina as a young financially broke adult. Surprisingly the prices in BK haven't changed from what they were in NC all those years ago. There aren't a lot of name brands, mostly store brands or a huge of variety of every item but you can defiantly feed a small family for under $50 a week. You have to insert a quarter into the grocery carts to use them but you get it back when you return your cart to its place. You also have to bag your own groceries & pay for grocery bags if you don't bring your own but it's only about 7¢ per paper bag, 10¢ for plastic bags & 89¢ for extra large thermal bags. That's where part the $aving$ comes in so I'm ok with it. I've fed my family of three a hearty breakfast, lunch & dinner with snacks over four full days for only $35 when I only had $40 left in my pocket for the week. read more

I love Aldi's -- because it's CHEAP! I'm originally from wayyyyy upstate NY so I'm very familiar with this chain and would stock up on groceries when I'd go home to visit. It's great if you're hosting a gathering and need to stock up on cheap party snacks like chips, crackers, cheese, etc. You really can't beat the prices ($1.29 for off-brand wheat thin crackers vs. $4.99 for name brand from a major grocery store? $1.99 for a brick of cheese vs. $3.99 in a major store? Come on!). Like another reviewer said, there are some items that aren't so great, but many that are. The produce is hit or miss -- if you come later at night, it's slim pickings...but earlier in the day it's better. No, the options aren't as huge, but for basic produce, it's okay. If you're looking for specialty items or fresh deli meats, you won't find them here -- it's basic groceries and that's it. As for the reviewer talking about the fight and the cashier not getting involved, I can tell you, that happens everywhere down here. I work at a major grocery store in the area and the constant fights between customers in line (or as they say down here, "on line") is the reason I begged to be switched off the front end. And no, I didn't care who was fighting or what they were fighting about, I also never would get involved because after a coworker had an avocado throw at her face, minding your business is the only thing you can do. My lack of involvement did upset a few customers, but like I told them, "They don't pay me enough to play a referee and should it escalate, they also don't pay me to clean up the blood." read more

Aldi is a store with a different concept. Good quality for reasonable prices. So far i been there twice - i am pleased with the outcome. The store is clean, friendly employees (brownie points to a nice young lady called Toni she was very helpful). The parking on the roof is great, it took a German company to think and make a parking lot on the roof when there is no space around the place. Yes their display is simple that makes the prices stay low. The quality is usually good because they wont sell if it is not good. They been around in Europe for the longest time and people trust their quality. Only if a brandname item is offered to them for a reasonable price aldi will sell it to the consumer. Often their products are good or better than brand names and hey you can actually read and pronounce the ingredients. Again i am happy they opened in our neighborhood. read more

I cannot give it less than one star or I would This is not a supermarket but rather a glorified 99Cent store. It is a small store - about half the size of the Pathmark that was there. It is poorly set up - layout makes no sense at all and they are lacking in some items totally! Someone looking for tuna could not find any! Also, they only had gallons of milk! Dismal fresh fruit and veggie section. But TONS of frozen pizza! I hear they signed a10 year lease but i will be surprised if this store is still around in 10 MONTHS! A short distance away is a Food Basics where you can buy name and store brands and save a lot of money and they are a complete supermarket. While I was not a fan of Pathmark in the last year or so it was there, it was certainly better than this place. I think people thought we were getting a Trader Joes but we are apparently not "upscale" enough and so we get this! Please Aldi, go away and send us a REAL store! read more
