I love that NYC is getting more Lidl locations, and this one is in a great spot right across from City Point, so I can fill in the gaps for things Trader Joe's doesn't sell. Two floors, with bakery and beverages downstairs for easy grab-and-go, and the rest of the groceries upstairs. When I stopped by, it wasn't too crowded in the aisles, and the shelves were pretty well-stocked (other than the items in the sales circular). Prices are affordable. I was already a rewards member from going to the Lidl in SI, but would recommend signing up before going for rewards, discounts, and the yearly birthday treat. Hoping for more Lidl stores all around Brooklyn!

    Gross carpet covering busted floor.

It's laughable how bad this store is, especially with the well-run location in Park Slope so nearby. Jus filthy all the time and maybe half of the self checkouts open (if any at all). The icing on the cake is the fact that instead of fixing the floor near the refrigerated section -- which has been busted since opening -- they just put down a cheap throw rig, which is now of course disgusting as well.

    PROOF OF PURCHASE.

The store layout is a little unusual IMO, with the bakery section downstairs and the rest of the grocery store upstairs.

They also have a much larger variety of fresh and packaged produce than neighboring grocery stores. They have loads of gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, BPA free, organic etc products too. The meats here are fresher and they are generally always well stocked with whatever I need. They ALSO have loads of ready made meals - pizza, pastas, fresh salads, soups, sushi, a mini patisserie, bakery (including cakes, bagels of diff flavors, fresh pretzels etc), cheese bar (with every kind of cheese you can think of, both local and imported from around the world). They offer a wide range of organic juices and international lunch foods to pack and go. The shop is always immaculate and the products are never dusty/expired. The customer service here is amazing - employees are super nice and extremely attentive, and even when DoorDash screwed up my order, they went out of their way to repack it and use one of their own guys to deliver it to me so I wouldn't have to deal with the frustration of Whenever there is a hard to find product that comes to mind, I know FGM is going to carry it. Is it more expensive? Yes. But that's because the produce is fresher, tastes better, is healthier, and there is a huge variety of local products coming from smaller farms and smaller companies (which equals a higher price).

They have great ready to take meals though and great hot bar and cold bar. Good cafe. Even seating to eat. Great drink selections. Good butcher. If you can afford to shop here, it's splendid. Their produce and fruit prices are wild though. They have great local products like bread and oatmeal and beverages which I really respect and like supporting.
