I'm giving one star, though zero would be more accurate. The product selection, prices, and food quality are noticeably worse than at the Staten Island store. There is no customer restroom, and the manager (or someone acting as one) refused to allow me to use the bathroom. There are moments when a bit of flexibility would go a long way. read more

I generally like Aldi, but I didn't have a great experience at this location (first time at this particular store). The frozen, pantry, and snack sections were fine, but the produce section was missing a lot of basics, meaning I had to make an unplanned shopping trip elsewhere after coming here. Even though it didn't live up to my expectations, I'm still glad we stopped by, since that meant we could pick up some Knoppers wafer bars and frozen pepperoni pizza, two items I recommend. If you're coming here, head for the parking lot on the roof and avoid the one shared with the buffet and other stores. That parking lot is a nightmare. read more

Let me tell you I was never a big fan until I had no choice and no other supermarket around. And once I discover one I got simply addicted. Not only it is super affordable but they really have cool stuff for the house. I even bought a sexy dress over the Christmas under 10 bucks that got many compliment. I always come shopping for groceries here, the prices are definitely more reasonable than others. It does get crowded sometimes and don't forget the bring a quarter to use their shopping carts and make sure to bring your own reusable bags because they do not have much of an option to hold your groceries. This location follows Covid precautions and has an orderly line of people waiting outside. Like any other Aldi locations it requires a quarter to rent their carts and you need to bring your own shopping bag. This store also revamped the aisles a bit as to make it wider and safer for shoppers to stay farther apart. I liked their big selections of European cookies and cakes with a decent price. I was also shopping for their gourmet meats, but I couldn't find their herb marinade lamb leg. Walked around the produce aisle, though many vegetables were out of stock and shelves left emptied. Pretty well stocked, 90 percent if the time. I have seen quite a big change over of the staff in the last year. I see mostly women except for the security. These ladies are a bit rough. After the cashier put my eggs in the cart, l had to check to see if one or two cracked. Considering it was Valentine's Day, the store really was not occupied. Yes I have to travel in my car for more than 15mins to get here but it's worth it. This location is clean and always stocked. I can't say much about the rude arse customers, but such is life. You can spend $50 and leave ALDI'S with a cart full with all the necessaries and so much more. This is a green store meaning you have to walk with your own bags or buy brown bags for $.07 each, plastic for $.89 or better yet get a box and tada all packed away neatly in your car trunk. It''s become a real dump. The store is dirty. A cooler has been broken for at least one year now. And their prices are no longer as attractive as they once were especially when you compare product quality of Aldi's stuff to products in the supermarket, even supermarket branded stuff. Look at this package of bacon. 90% of this pack of bacon purchased at Aldi was pure fat. Pure garbage. Aldi should be embarrassed to even put this on the shelves for you and me to buy. Total crap. Low level shit. It took me one hour to trim the fat from the bacon and after I cooked what little remained after the trimming, I found had an unpleasant odor and tossed it all away. I dislike most - standing on the check out line waiting for someone to call you to their register, with their loud obnoxious voice, and then the cashier experience - ruff trade here. The only Aldi's in Brooklyn, and one with a parking lot! Theres always a parking spaces available even during weekends. Like any other Aldi's, you need to pay for bags or bring your own and you have to deposit a quarter to use their shopping carts. No plastic bags after 3/1/2020, plastic bags are banned from distribution! The Aldi's it self is pretty organized and neat as it can be with the large number of shoppers they have. Things are always being restocked, employees are always cleaning up the empty boxes and organizing their products. The service is a hit or miss. Sometimes I get checked out with a nice individual who is smiling, makes conversation, and put things in nicely. Other times, it could be a cashier who throws you milk on your bag of chips. read more

It's tiny, but MIGHTY. You will find some of the best food for the best prices HERE. The prices may have you never step foot into a "normal" grocery store again. This location is also pretty well stocked compared to others I frequent. Fresh veggies, fruits, seafood and even specialty items for the extreme low. It doesn't get better than that. Ok, the designated employee told me it was faster which is the totally opposite. Elderly don't really know how to use self checkout and it's a mess calling the two people there helping all the time specially for produce. Why I have to scan myself and not getting paid for it? The prices went up and I have to do self checkout? Last time another idiotic addition. Cash, you get served by the only two cashiers left, credit, you do it by yourself. I had to put all my grocery on the tiny space close to the scan device, then remove everything and put it back in my cart, then remove everything again to bag them. It's a marathon. I finally stopped in this supermarket recently and was not very impressed at all. From the outside it looks like a large supermarket but once you step foot inside the store its a bit small. Once I looked around I also realized that most of the products were not name brands that I have ever heard of. I personally don't mind buying off brand food at times but some items in opinion cant be compromised. The check out line was extremely long and there was only one cashier working slow but steady. I don't care how much the discount - time is money and that wait cost me more than I saved by buying no frills food. I tried the garlic parmesan bread and it did not compare well in my opinion to the Pepperidge farm brand that I am used to but the tartar sauce was OK. I probably wont come back very often because Id rather spend my money on name brand food that I am sure tastes good and is edible. read more

I was given the granola and yogurt from "Aldi's" by a employee, so I've been addicted. Every time I head to my store location they have it there. This time they didn't do I finally had to go to "Aldi" myself. There' side parking but if you can't find and there's a parking lot on the roof, which is cool. Going inside I noticed this location is small. Small location easy to keep organized, right? Not close! It was so disorganized and messy in some areas. They didn't even replenish the bread section, essential for and food store. Walking around I noticed everything is generic, that's why the prices are so low. I enjoyed walking around the store but they don't have a large selection in cold drinks if your thirsty now. I will keep going there for the yogurt and granola, but I'm sure I will send staff to get it for me. read more

I recently discovered Aldi and I love the layout, food options, and the prices. This location does have a good amount of free parking available. The lines aren't that long and I've been inside after about 15 minutes of waiting. Obviously it depends what time you go but the lines at most grocery stores because of coronavirus are getting shorter. I like their signature brand products as well as the fact they sell common name brand products that we all know. The prices are really good compared to Key food and Stop & Shop. They also have really unique frozen foods like churros, bavarian pretzels, taquitos, and much much more. The cart situation with the 25 cents is a little annoying but I understand why they do it. Overall this is a great location, well stocked, and easy to navigate. read more

I was just looking at the selection and definitely not making a mess. If she doesn't like her job, she should find another one. It's Aldi. Half or less the size of a normal supermarket. Reliably cheap prices on everything, almost all house brands many of which are unique Aldi products and generally good quality, and often an organic and/or gluten free choice or non-nitrate sausage or ham, some unexpected products from Germany, a returned quarter for shopping carts, a row of special seasonal non-food stuff and a row of other specials etc. Tip: German Easter and Christmas chocolates are FAR better quality than others (it's the law), and the colorful foil wrapped bunnies and Santas etc. are a THIRD or less the price you would pay at an import grocery store. Why no cheap German beer, Aldi? And no diet soda??? Also often a very narrow selection even for one house brand, and an item you are looking for just might be out of stock. But cottage cheese (large size only), liquid eggs (quart only), and the shoe box size spring salad mix for example are 30-50% less than anywhere else. In the current Covid situation you can be waiting in line outside for a half hour or more. Don't go if it's raining. Bring a magazine (hard to read your phone in the sun). It tends to be less busy with even no line after 4 pm. Get a cart first and then take a hike with it to the end of the line. Don't forget the quarter! Currently this location has two kinds of carts. I have lost the quarter the last three times I was there, using the newer carts with the gray handle - they fell out at some point. The ground level parking lot shared with the strip mall is TERRIBLE. The spaces are very narrow and other customers will run into your car when parking because they apparently don't know how to drive. One way through it, and people block it waiting for someone to take five minutes to park in slow motion. DO NOT PARK THERE under any circumstances. Park on the roof where there is always space and the spaces and lanes are suburban parking lot size. You do NOT have to spend ten minutes trying to get through the street level lot to get to the roof - just turn in the driveway right near the store. It looks like it's one way (out) but it's not, and if it is, well who cares. Just do it. The elevator to the roof is not working because of Covid, so you will have to carry your groceries back up to your car. Difficult on stairs if you bought a lot so I walk up the ramp. Pretty safe because not many people are using the roof lot right now. Not too good if you bought a whole cart full, but I guess you could just be daring and push your cart up the ramp. Aldi keeps the staff too low and so along with possibly particularly irresponsible customers (like the neighborhood very high % of Middle Eastern and Russian) there are things out of place all over the store and empty boxes (they stock a lot of things in the box) all over the place, like even frozen or refrigerated things on some random shelf or the opposite etc. I have returned ten things to their proper location while shopping - I usually spend extra time cruising the whole store because I find things I hadn't thought about and the recently remodeled arrangement seems even more random than before. They also must pay very low wages or treat employees poorly (or both) because unlike at Stop and Shop for example I see a lot of different employees every time I go there, particularly at check out where there always seem to be completely different employees. read more

I had been wanting to go to Aldi for a long time. I shopped at Aldi in Germany and loved it. Food was cheap but good. I was hoping they would carry at least some German products here in NYC but found none aside from some bratwurst advertised as german but I have my doubts. I lived in Germany and never had such horrible wurst. It has the consistency of rubber and tastes like plastic. Same for the tortellini, chicken and rosemary??? Tastes like nothing and feels like rubber, worst ever! The 2 stars are for the potato chips, large bag, good price and flavor, not too salty, and some greek olive dip that was really tasty, creamy and full of olive bits. All in all I would not make the trip again. Most of the stuff I bought was tasteless and poor quality. I expected better from Aldi, it's not like in Germany :-( read more

I went in today for two specific items ONLY because it was located near my gym AND I happened to be there at opening time. Pros: 1. You have to bring your own bags, which is great for the environment. 2. You pay to use the shopping carts but you get a refund when you return the cart where you got it. 3. Frozen wild seafood was a lovely surprise. 4. Ample parking Cons: 1. VERY small selection of organic products. 2. Everything is prepackaged, 3. The location is out of my way. Although I have more pros thanks cons, this would never be my first or second choice for weekly grocery shopping. It's missing to many of my preferred items but if I'm in a pinch and happen to be near by I wouldn't mind spending some cash here. read more

This is my second Aldi I have been to. This store is very similar to the one in Woodbridge, NJ except a few thing. First I find it quite disappointing that they do not have changing table for baby in the bathroom. There is just no reason or excuse for that. Second, some of the items were out of stock. I know this because I can comparison shop within Brooklyn and know for a fact that at least 30% of the products sold at ALDI's on Long Island or in just about any other less urban location has lower prices on a significant amount of aldi exclusive products. That's fine.. but if I can save enough money to the trip to long island and get to a walmart as well in Valley Stream.. the brooklyn city stores will lose out-- it's just that simple! I heard a customer ask the workers if there were any more avocados, and the workers said, come back tomorrow, earlier in a rude manner - which means yes, there are, but you're just too lazy to go and restock. Speaking of low stock, literally the store was half empty. Everything is messy. These workers do not care. Only pros - theres a parking lot and prices are "low", but nothing crazy.
