We like Aldi. Cheap prices and the quality of the food is really good. Yes I'm fine using a quarter to use a grocery cart to minimize the cost of food or that I need to pack my own groceries. This aldi is very clean and in order. Empty boxes and left on the shelves, also there was a pallet jack in the middle of the isle? People were crowding the produce section and no employee did anything to allow others to pass. The people at check out were very polite and quick. Great variety of options and the prices are very reasonable for lots of European products. The produce is fresh. The breads are very good too. Only thing I will suggest the manager is the handicap parking spaces which are not very convenient for the elderly. Please rethink about this. Aldi is a great place to get basic groceries at bargain prices. You won't find name brands at Aldi, but you'll find quality store brands at amazing prices. It is increasingly becoming my go to store for basic needs. I have bought boxed potato meals for 50 cents. Six bagels for less than two dollars. Sloppy Joe sauce for less than a dollar. Grapes for 89 cents a pound. Sometimes they are even cheaper than the dollar stores. Aldi is owned by Trader Joe's and between the two stores I barely go to the mainline grocery stores any more. Sprouts and the dollar stores round out my shopping. If you want a shopping cart you'll have to put a quarter in the slot, but you get it back when you return the cart. Not a big deal. So, if you are a person who likes good food at good prices Aldi should definitely be part of where you shop. read more

Love coming here. Once you figure out how the carts work it's a piece of cake and you don't have to worry about random carts hitting your car in the parking lot. The produce is always fresh and I have found I have been eating much healthier since I've been shopping here. 90% of the foods is from brands you've never heard of but the quality is still great. Try the pizzas. They are amazing. For southern California, the prices are great and can save you a lot of money when everything else is so expensive. Today was my first time shopping here and I absolutely loved the products that I found. A lot of healthy snacks. And of course the prices are amazing. The customer service not so much. Well based off of the cashier we got today. Idk how the rest of them are. He didn't say hello, just sat there and just started scanning away and just didn't say a word til it was time for us to pay. Poor customer service! I used to enjoy doing my shopping here at Aldi. Everything here is inexpensive and all the employees are nice and helpful until I met Arthur. He works on thursday night shift and claimed as the manager. There was only 1 cashier opened at that time and my husband was waiting in line while I was running around chasing my 2.5 yr old kid. Arthur offered to open a new cashier so I went up to pay but was rejected and said to get back to the line (my husband was on the other side waiting in line). He told me that I cant just cut the line and to get back to the line. I was never treated like this at any other groceries store. Been to both locations in Alhambra & Arcadia, but both stores didn't give me good impressions. The people that they hire are just not that great. They would select people to greet & you just get that feeling that they discriminate. Don't even look at you or say hi. Rudest shopping experience EVER. I was excited about Aldi opening. I've shopped at the Huntington Beach location and loved it. The rudest staff ever to open a store. I would think you'd put your best staff in place for your opening. I've never in my life been treated so poorly and witnessed staff members treat their customers so badly. I literally had my groceries thrown at me and was pushed out of the way by the checker. Watched another employee harass a woman who, yes was wrong for trying to skip the line. I thought the man was a lunatic shopper till I realized oh no he worked there. Unacceptable behavior. Recommend Aldi look at their training on how to treat customers or you'll be closing your doors soon. I live up the street and I'll never shop at that location again. Aldi is so much more than a place to buy your eggs! The products are international, cheeses, wines from Spain, chocolates and truffles from Germany, Italian breads, fish from Canada, fresh produce and so on. And honestly, the employees are some of the nicest I ever encountered. As another person commented, this store really grows on you. read more

Dear Aldi's, Your store is not in anyway handicap friendly. For this you deserve zero stars. I could not enjoy my shopping experience simply because I was worried I would topple over pushing your heavy cart. See, I am disabled and need a walker, at present, largely due to balance issues. I struggled through your store searching for a few items. I did inform your manager that it doesn't seem reasonable to provide only what motorized shopping cart when all surrounding stores provide far more than one. He did not offer to provide a worker to help me with my shopping either. On the positive side, your store is every bargain shoppers dream come true with all your low priced items. Unfortunately, I really could not shop for much. My hope is that you will perhaps consider both the elderly and disabled in the future and provide appropriate services. I thought it was inexpensive and it had the things I needed. I will not return because the cashier was so extremely rude. Unacceptable

First off you have to pay a quarter to use a cart. Not even Wholefoods market does that. I unfortunately don't carry change so I had to carry my purchases around the store until I was done. Luckily I always carry my reusable bags so that helped. The store itself is very warehouse like and small. The produce section is small and the produce isn't very fresh. It's priced the same as sprouts and Vons(every other market) so it's not like you're getting a deal either. The only items that were cheap were the avocados but they were all mushy and inedible. Their ad also stated that the limit for eggs, which were 79 cents, was 6 but at this store they said it was 2. Not that I needed all those eggs but that's false advertising. Customer service was none existent and unpleasant. They ring you up while SITTING down and can't even bag your purchases. They expect you to do it even if your arm is in a sling even after they had you lugging everything around the store because they don't provide hand baskets or free carts. They just put all your stuff in a cart so you can bag it and move on. This market is very reminiscent of Fresh n Easy and that's not a good thing, we know what happened to them.The cashier also gave select customers coupons and not others as you can guess I was one of the ones that didn't. This shopping experience was horrible and left a bitter taste in my mouth, it also made me realize that some people get paid too much for the actual work they do. I honestly still wished they would've opened a Trader Joe's instead. Aldi may be their parent company but this market is a joke. I was looking forward to going in this store and seeing what it was like. I was pretty disappointed by the whole experience. First, there weren't any hand baskets. Apparently you either hold all your groceries, or you just get a giant cart. Second, the store is kind arranged in a strange way. It's like a maze and you need to go around the whole maze to get to the registers, and it feels like a mini warehouse store with big overflowing boxes of product and merchandise. Third, the cashier was unfriendly. I guess they place all your products in a cart at the end of the belt and then you go over to this counter and put your groceries in your bags. I didn't have a cart so when I pulled the cart with my purchased merchandise in it to go to the counter, the cashier firmly pulled it away from me and told me it was her cart and then started ringing up the next guest without saying anything more to me and putting their merchandise with mine. If you don't bring a cart with you when you check out, you're treated like a freak of nature. I more than likely will never go back to this store. I was really hoping to like it because it's close to my apartment and the prices are decent, but I was pretty turned off by this experience. read more

The products are good. Prices good. Store is clean and organized. Employees nice. But the way they treat their employees is horrible. I witnessed what I found out was their district manager treat an employee horribly! When I commented to another employee what I saw, after some proding, he reluctantly responded that it was normal for the big bosses to be like that....and that it can be worse. Maybe Aldis should focus on hiring more employees rather than yelling (especially in public) at the ones working their butts off. I didn't get a really good first impression. They have a coin system where you put a quarter into the shopping cart, so that you don't steal the shopping cart to get that quarter back, but this system is very flawed. If someone really wanted to steal the cart, they wouldn't care about the quarter, because they're keeping the quarter anyways since they're stealing the cart. And then there's the Cart there explaining how to use the cart, which makes the whole shopping experience start off confusing. Then when you enter the store it's very quite and dead, there's no nice music. A good thing was that the shelves stocked with produced looked organized, although when I looked at the cost labels with the hamburger and hotdog buns, they weren't in the right place. And when I was looking for cereal bars, the cereal bars weren't even in the cereal section, or the granola bar section, which didn't make sense. And when I finally paid the cashier didn't really welcome me, he looked like he didn't want to be there, even though the store just opened. Oh and no one bags your stuff that you buy, they have an entire section where you can bag your own stuff Like come on your store really makes itself look like a penny pincher. So yeah overall I didn't enjoy it, even the prices. That'll be the last time I'll ever go there, I'm better off going to Vons. read more
