Old Fashioned's Father! Has Pernod in it for a nice black liquorice flavor!
Lizzy L.

Come here for the steak and service!! :) Alder & Birch had been on my mental eating list for yearssss and I finally made it!! Upon entering the double glass doors (love that the restaurant is closed off from the rest of the hotel), we were politely greeted by the sweet hostess! Drew took care of us for the night and was a pleasure! I think he can have a side gig as a comedian! ;) My husband got the ribeye special for the night that was cooked beautifully as a medium rare!!! I ordered the Chilean sea bass and made the wrong choice...womp womp! I should have gone with the steak or tried the prime rib. The sea bass wasn't that flavorful and wasn't the thick, buttery Chilean sea bass I was expecting. The tummy tastes and learns...all good. The wagyu beef meatballs, duck fat fries, lavash from the bread tray, and lemon tart stood out for me!! Wagyu beef meatballs: Fillling and delicious with the bread toasted in oil! Duck fat fries: Say no more!! Once you go with duck fat, no other fry compares to the crispness! Lavash: This is more like a lavish cracker with a slight cheddar cheese flavor to it. Fun to munch on! Reminded me of a thin cheeze-it, heehee! Lemon tart: The lemon half made of white chocolate is amazing as it looks and feels so real!! The tart crust was so buttery and crisp, and for those who like lemon desserts, the lemon flavor was strong with this one (in a good way)! Take a bite with a little bit of everything on the plate and it is yum, yum, yummm!! Oh, and how I can I forget the Old Fashioned's Father cocktail!! A fun twist on traditional old fashioneds! The Pernod liqueur in it made it a good palate cleanser between courses! Alder & Birch, thank you for the great service and delicious food! I got to come back for the ribeye! :p

My friend and I walked in on a Saturday and ate dinner at the bar, no waiting. The mushrooms were my favorite, but it was all tasty. We shared a bottle of wine, nice selections at a decent price. The service was friendly and the bartender was engaging, although busy as he serves the entire bar. Luckily the smoke of the casino does NOT waft in. I would go again when in Vegas. Orleans is off the strip, but this place is still pricey $200+ for 2 of us.

It's a yes on food, drinks and service! Located inside The Orleans hotel off strip, this restaurant checked all the boxes for us. Good for large groups and celebrations. Steaks were cooked to perfection. As in most steakhouses, steaks and sides are ordered a la carte. To start they bring out a beautiful arrangement of breads for you to choose from and continue to come back to offer more. Our waiter was so patient with all of my mom's questions lol and we ended up having a great dinner. It was not cheap but definitely cheaper than what we would've paid on strip.

Went here a yr ago & thought it was the most amazing enough my bro wanted to come back for the holidays. This was not even close to last experience. They didn't have the bottle of wine on the short list 1st, then the wedge salad didn't have the glaze that made the salad instead brought me a vinaigrette terrible. The steak came out well when I asked for medium rare & had to ask for it to be redone. King crab seemed like it was done for a while, not warm & butter was sitting out. The waiter Greg was nice, but the bus boy was trying harder. No accommodations after many issues. I was trying to take my son out for an amazing new years dinner Dec 30th. Terrible.

Great experience at the Orleans. Starting off with your meal with a bread basket this basket is enormous with variety of different bread that you can try and it's unlimited so indulge. Try all of them get multiple ones. Take some to go. Next, the sides definitely recommend the duck fat french fries they were the biggest hit across everyone we were sitting by we tried the Gouda mac & cheese wasn't really my thing, but it wasn't a bad dish would definitely want to try the blue cheese, scallop potatoes, or the enormous baked potato loaded. We had two different cuts of steak 16 ounce New York strip was amazing. I'm more of a medium steak person, but the medium came across more medium rare but still it was delicious. Try it paired with the Madagascar peppercorn sauce and you can't go wrong. we also had the 8 ounce fillet, which was amazing but would pass on any sauce mixed with this cut of steak. The ambience is very romantic, quiet and very intimate. The servers were amazing always made sure we were looked after. Pricing is a typical steakhouse, but the ounces of steak that you get definitely make it worth your while.

Crème Brûlée. Had to try theirs and it was perfect.

Our waitress is one of the best! Her name is Andrya. She's very personable and makes you feel at home. She's friendly and very attentive. The food were just remarkable. I went here several times during my stay. It's very calming here. I do recommend if you don't mind spending the extra cash for comfort. Andrya made the experience worth it.

After a 9-10 hour drive from Long Beach to Las Vegas (traffic due to spilled chemical on the 15 in July), I was starving! My friend, who lives there, took me out to dinner here, after I dropped off everything in the hotel room, to make me feel better and celebrate my bday! Awww! What a special treat! We were the last customers in because it was past 8:30 and I think they were closing soon. I'm so grateful for you guys! Amazing service with a smile! Food was amazing! The ambiance was romantic and classy and I will definitely be back someday! So the pictures are out of order but we started off with: - Some bread, butter and I asked for olive oil and vinegar and black pepper (that mix is the best!) - A mixed salad with ranch - Then the crab bisque? Omg! So yummy! My friend got full! - The steak was bomb! I got it medium rare...but it's ok to get medium. The scalloped blue cheese potatoes were amazing too! Definitely need to mix it in because it's strong so eat with the steak. - The drinks were yummy! I forgot what I got but so refreshing and hit the spot. - Then the DESSERT! Omg! How can you not have dessert? They brought it out for my bday without charge! Thank you so so much! The trip already was much better and I forgot all about the traffic coming up here for my business event and training! You guys make this my favorite restaurant in Vegas! Love you guys!

Located in The Orleans hotel & casino not too far from hotel registration. We did t eat here however my husband frequented the bar for his old fashioneds. Impressed by the bartender who served him the 1st night & 4 nights later remembered him & his drink order. Pricy but worth it! Upscale but comfortable!

This restaurant was fine dining at its best. Food was excellent. Service was top notch and atmosphere was a perfect setting for the celebration. Server was engaging and knowledgeable about to menu and provided recommendations. Definitely worth experiencing when in Vegas.

The hostess got us seated right away and was very friendly. The booth was very comfortable, and the ambience was well lit with a fireplace inside as well. I had a prime rib dinner with brussels sprouts and duck fries. The prime rib was cooked very well. The brussels sprouts were outstanding so were the duck fries. Our waitress Andrya was extremely polite, nice & friendly. She did an amazing job! If you're looking for a place to get some steak or prime rib, this is the spot. I recommend Alder and Birch restaurant at New Orleans casino.

I have neglected this place for so long! I passed by this place for many years and never had the urge to try it! I finally had it today and OMG! This place is so good! One of the best steak houses I had in Vegas! Everything is magnificent! From the crab cake to the bone in ribeye and the lamb chops! If I'm being picky, the only downside are their sides. Nonetheless, I had a great experience and can't wait to try more dishes next time.

First, let me say I really want to go back and eat here again. Even though it wasn't a 5-star experience, I enjoyed it very much and I think it could be 5 stars! We were early for our table so the hostess suggested we sit at the bar. Mind you the table that we were sat at, I could see from the bar and it was empty and set when we sat down at the bar so I'm not sure why they wouldn't seat us early. The bar tender seemed so sad. I really hope it was just an off day for him. But we weren't greeted when we sat. We had to ask for a menu after sitting for about 5 minutes. We definitely weren't made to feel welcomed :( We ordered the Raspberry lemon martini. It was so good, but dangerous because you could barely taste any alcohol but it was strong. We were told we had to pay our tab before sitting at the table. We asked to have the tab billed to the table. The bar tender acted like this was a strange request. We explained we were paying with points. After some discussion with the manager they said no problem. After sitting it was about 10 minutes before the bus boy came to fill the water and another 5 before they offered us some cold bread. When our waiter came we explained we had only an hour to eat because we were going to a concert and asked how backed up the kitchen was in case we needed to modify our orders to ensure we got out on time. The waiter was friendly but never asked us if we had been there before, if we wanted any suggestions or mentioned any specials. We ordered the beet salad (excellent), the crab soup (eh, tasted and smelled fishy), French onion soup (delish) and a Cesar salad (very good and the Parmesan crisp was an amazing touch). Sorry I forgot to take pics of the apps because my friend spilt her almost full martini all over the table and floor. The waiter did replace it on the house which was very nice, but not necessary. We were appreciative though. I had the scallops and my friend had the filet and we got the mashed potato's as a side. The scallops were perfectly cooked. I loved the sauces. To me, it needed more seasoning to bring out the flavors. But I'd definitely order it again. My friend enjoyed her filet. She had it cooked medium well (yuck) so I didn't try it. She wasn't asked if she wanted a steak sauce when ordering. Later on she asked for it and they only offered A1 or Heinz 57, which I thought was strange since the other steak sauces they offer are usually yummy. Unfortunately we didn't have time for dessert because we had to get to the show. The waiter did offer to get us another drink to-go since it was a long walk to the venue. This was much appreciated. We paid with points and left a 25% tip. Again, there were just too many small things to give it 5 stars. However, I still really enjoyed it and want to go back when we are not rushed and try some other items. I will always get the best salad every time and I don't think I'd ever get the crab soup again. Just some constructive feedback in case anyone reads these reviews: - bartenders should always greet customers and make them feel welcomed. Unfortunately this didn't happen this time. - Identical drinks should be identical. One shouldn't have a toothpick with a lemon and no sugar rim and the other had no lemon and a sugar rim. - when seated, it would be nice to be welcomed shortly after. Sitting for 10 mins just looking around, needing refills, and just waiting is awkward. - please give recommendations or ask if we want recommendations. We came there expecting to spend a few hundred and ended up spending about half. If things were recommended or described, we probably would have gotten more. - I did mark on the reservation that it was my birthday. Nothing was ever acknowledged. That was kinda a bummer. I really do want to come back and see if the experience is the same or different.

Lamb Chops
Nette B.

Solid 4 Stars. Our server was Michael, and he was professional and nice. Beautiful ambiance and good for large parties. Food: Rib Eye Steak Asparagus Baked Potato Lamb Chops Short Rib House Chopped Salad Tempura Rock Shrimp The steaks and lamb were cooked perfectly. Asparagus was an added touch. The least favorite was the creme brulee and baked potato, but my favorite, in which I returned the next day to eat this dish again, was the Tempura Rock Shrimp. On my 2nd visit, I ordered a House Chopped Salad and that was awful. I had to return it because it was overdressed. Overall, the service was good and the food was delcious. I would definitely return again.

They weren't busy at all, which is expected. Since there were five of us, we did try a good portion of their menu, including drinks. There were food items that weren't available that night since they were revamping their menu, which is a bit unfortunate. From the drinks menu: Pink Slip - Light and refreshing with a tad of fruitiness. Orange Overdrive - Lighter and more tropical version of a Mai Tai. Octane Fluff - Smooth and silky with a bit of sweetness. Pit Lane Passion - Fruity Petal to the Metal - Refreshing and sweet, the Kettle One Botanicals gives it a nice floral element Tokyo Drift - Strong, grassy, and gritty. My favorite out of all the drinks was the Octane Fluff. It was super delicious and the toasted marshmallow was a nice added touch. My least favorite was the Tokyo Drift -- it had Rihei (ginger sochu), citrus, layered matcha, and apple sake. While it sounded very interesting and looked amazing, it had plenty of potential but unfortunately, I don't think it was executed that well. The matcha used was really grassy and gritty -- I've actually never had matcha that tasted like grass before but whichever one they used, it sure did. The Rihei was far too strong and did not mesh well at all with the matcha. The apple sake was just there. It was like drinking three separate drinks but all at once. From the food menu: Japanese cucumber salad - tangy, refreshing, and slightly spicy. OG burger - delicious, plenty of flavor, and the fries were really good. Japanese curry fries - curry had great flavor but I did wish it had some meat. Wings - we tried both the guava heat and the miso honey. The guava heat was my favorite, it was sweet with a small kick. Their wings were juicy and super plump, which was great. Shoyu butter pretzel - pretty normal. Nothing special to be honest. Service is a tad slow mainly because the establishment started to fill up and they don't have a dedicated server to the tables. It was fine for us but if you get impatient, that is something to note. Prices are reasonable for the food but it is a tad high for the drinks. They do have a happy hour as well but it doesn't start until 11PM, which is super unfortunately. I would love to see a reverse happy hour sometime for them cause I simply cannot eat that late. I'm honestly pretty impressed with our first visit. It's very rare where I find a bar where I like almost all the food AND the drinks. Everyone in my party would agree as well. They are actually expanding their hours to include brunch on Saturday and Sundays. We can't wait to go back again. Definitely recommend.

Upon setting foot, you are easily transported into a newfound universe, a reimagined Victorian Era, should it be powered by steam rather than electricity. A sense of mischief within every corner, down to the cocaine chambers, which explicitly discourages patrons from summoning demons. Should malevolent entities roam the streets of Sin City, I have nothing to do with such necromancy. Beyond the aesthetic, the service elevated all else. Amanda, our bartender, was effortlessly charming, sweet, welcoming, and knowledgeable in a sense that every recommendation she had for us felt as though it were a present rather than a suggestion. I jokingly told my mates that every time she checked on our table, I felt as if I shed new skin as her amiable, warm presence baptized me. As if she had not graced us enough, she surprised us with a tofu cheesecake layered with raspberries and strawberry sauce, alongside extra beverages. All of which were indulgent, balanced, and quite the delicacy. The general manager, Will, was holstered with identical cordiality as he checked on us in a sincere manner and even offered us their house-made taco sauce. 'twas a minuscule gesture that highlighted our vegan tacos as it was a supplemental, bright-nuanced depth to an already astute dish. Chef Kario's taco flight read as though 'twas a Pulitzer Prize-winning culinary narrative. The jackfruit barbacoa had a smoky, yet sweet profile. The mushroom with brown mole had an earthy heat. The cabbage with notes of pumpkin (?) was bright, textural, and slightly nutty. Each piece was grounded by their house-made tortillas that were tender, slightly charred, and essential to tying everything together. Furthermore, the drinks deserve their own reverence. Why be present at Sin City shows when liquid entertainment lies before you at The Alchemist? Fountains of Bellagio, take notes. Anyhow, the Matcha Tonic was theatrically poured from a teapot that I forgot I was drinking alcohol considering I casually sipped my beverage as if 'twas an afternoon tea. Perhaps, I am an alcoholic? Do not tell my sponsor.. I mean...mother (?). I digress, the coconut water's sweetness and citrus notes married well with the matcha's savory backbone. Every sip is an invitation to reflect. Moreover, the Lychee Bloom's expressive smoke bubble erupts into a transient aromatic veil and I am promptly magnetized. The lychee conducts with a lavish, fragrant profile whilst the roses offer a floral composure. I relish in a multi-dimensional vibrancy. Where the matcha tonic contemplates, the lychee bloom bewitches. Where there are elixirs, lavatories to conjure up spirits, and AMANDA, I, too, am present.

The charandas incantation was surprisingly tasty although the butter me up was not I love an old fashioned which I thought this would be adjacent to, but honestly it tasted like nothing but alcohol and MAYBE a hint of caramel at the end. Just pretty alcohol forward so it tasted like I was taking a shot the whole time. The other thing that was a little off putting was the fact that they had all these fun cocktails... and they were served in a plain glass with a massive ice cube I think with the name of the Alchemist - I just expected more. Food we got the Peanut noodle cups because honestly the menu was a little confusing. It had Asian, Mexican, American, and Peruvian food all together.... And none of it looked amazing. The Peanut noodles were a little heavy on the fish sauce and kind of hard to eat, but overall ok. I like the idea of here, and I think there is potential. But personally I can think of quite a few other places I would go first.

Wasn't looking for any freebies but would have been a bit more special if mentioned. Not end of the world but a bit disappointing. All in all will be back to try our favorites again on the a la carte menu.

He canceled the reservation on Mother's Day and was fully aware of the stated $25 per person cancellation fee ($100 total). Unfortunately, the restaurant charged his card three separate charges totaling $250 ($100, $100, and $50). He contacted the restaurant and was initially told the refund would be processed within 3 days. After following up again 3 days later, he was told the employee who handles refunds was out of the country and that he should not have been told 3 days. He then received an email from Thaddeus confirming the cancellation fee was only $25 per person and stating he could use the $100 as credit toward a future visit if he showed the email at the restaurant. However, the additional $150 in charges was never addressed. My son replied to the email asking about the extra charges and still has not received a response 3 days later. At this point, he is handling the matter through his bank's fraud department. Very disappointing experience, especially with the lack of communication and accountability. I would not recommend this place.

Nice atmosphere, attentive service, good drink selection. I got the Vesper, Vesper martini which is…read morethe bar's namesake & made exactly as James Bond's order except stirred, not shaken as a martini should be. Generous grapefruit rind garnish, definitely boozey, I think I prefer a standard gin martini better, but def a must have if you want to try something different or if you're feeling like James Bond that evening. Wife had the Mint Julep. It included cognac & bourbon & was very stiff, but surprisingly didn't taste of strong alcohol... the sign of a good drink. My wife was riding high the rest of the night. Good lobby bar for stiff drinks. Would def return.

I opted for a comfier lounge chair next to the bar and checked out the menu on the table. When I was ready to order, I went up to the bar. Which, if you've been to bars in general, they happily take your order and you wait and bring the drinks back to your seat. Well not at Vesper. Went up ready to order and the bartender asked where we were seated and said a waitress would come by and that we couldn't order with him. We sat, we waited 15-20 mins and no one came around. We waited long enough and decided it wasn't worth our money. If trying to get an order in was this difficult, can't imagine what the rest of the service is like.

I feel a bit of shame being a Vegas local and sharing that I've legit NEVER been to VooDoo Lounge…read morebefore this past weekend. And what a cool spot it was! We were at the Rio to see a show, and after the show decided we wanted to keep hanging out there and enjoying. At one of the bars we randomly stopped at on the property before the show, one of the bartenders gave us a buy one get one free cocktail for VooDoo Lounge if we went. And there was no cover charge to get in! Sold! We decided to head up there after the show. This spot is locaed on the 51st (I believe) floor of the hotel but you enter on the second floor and take an elevator up. After a quick check our IDs and search of our bags and whatnot, we were able to take the elevators upstairs. As soon as we got there, I booked it for the outside patio. I mean, come on, you have to! This is really what sold me. WOW! It's STUNNING up there! Amazing views on the Strip unlike anything I've ever seen before. There was also a DJ up there and he was playing great music. For a Friday night, it wasn't super busy, but still really nice. We were able to sit wherever we wanted, as the tables and lounge seating was totally open for everyone to enjoy. We took in the beautiful views and each had a cocktail. Our server was outstanding and did a great job waiting on us. Sadly, we were getting a Vegas thunderstorm underway so the DJ had to stop and security all ushered us inside. Still, nonetheless, this was such a cool experience and one I'll continue to talk about. Definitely go if you can!

It was a Saturday night at 9pm, we were greeted by very friendly staff both downstairs and upstairs. We went out to the terrace to enjoy the view and took over a lounge seating space. The 3 of us ordered a fishbowl which was great but we didn't stay longer because the place was empty and the DJ played the same beat for the entire hour we were there. It's a shame that this has gone so downhill. When I went to the bathrooms I noticed the water damage on the walls and the lack of maintenance so it sealed my fate to not return for a while. This used to be the spot but it's a little scary anywhere in the casino.
