Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience here on October 26th, around 8:00-8:10 PM…read more I had visited once before for a yoga class and had a positive experience, so I returned simply to purchase a yoga mat. I brought my boyfriend, who is newly discovering yoga, and a friend visiting from the West Coast. Before walking in, I had actually been speaking so highly of yoga, how calming it is, and how much it can help with mindfulness and emotional well-being. Unfortunately, what happened next was the complete opposite of what I had just been describing. As I was looking at the yoga mats, I glanced toward the woman at the front desk. Without my even asking for assistance, she began waving her hands and repeatedly saying things like, "No, I can't, not right now," in a visibly rattled and dismissive manner. She eventually said she would get someone else to help us. The interaction was so uncomfortable and unnecessarily rude that I looked at my boyfriend in disbelief. He immediately suggested we leave, and we did. I later returned to express how uncomfortable the interaction had been, hoping there might be some acknowledgment or understanding. Instead, the second woman responded defensively, saying something along the lines of, "Well, that's why I'm here." There was no apology, no effort to understand what had happened, and unfortunately, both interactions left me feeling even more disappointed. What makes this especially unfortunate is that I'm relatively new to Houston, having moved here from Los Angeles, and I've been excited to introduce others to the yoga community. My boyfriend and our guest were getting their first impressions of this space, and this experience was incredibly discouraging. If you look at my review history, you'll see that I rarely leave negative reviews. I genuinely prefer to highlight positive experiences and support businesses. However, this interaction was so unnecessarily unpleasant that I felt it was worth sharing. I understand that people have stressful moments, especially when managing a busy studio. But how we communicate during those moments matters, particularly in a space centered around mindfulness, compassion, and self-awareness. I sincerely hope the staff can reflect on how they welcome and communicate with guests, especially those who may be experiencing yoga for the very first time. A little kindness, acknowledgment, or even a simple apology would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, this experience left such a bad impression on all three of us that I don't plan on returning.

I parked under the freeway, there's a good-sized parking lot, you just walk across the road, and the sudio is walking distance from the parking lot. I couldn't figure out any other place to park, but I didn't spend a lot of time looking. I can tell this place was made by a yogi for yogis. What an intentionally created space. You can tell a lot of thought and positive energy was crafted into the studio. It's very peaceful and calming. Good vibes only. I believe the owner used to be at 4 dragons (for those that know the yoga scene), which I have heard about, but had never been to. I took "Yoga Wind Down" with Naomi C. and it was soo good. YIN lovers dream. She has this beautiful, soothing voice. She was subbing for someone else. I need to find her other classes! I would love to take her again. I would recommend Naomi, this class, and trying this studio out. Namaste.

We wanted to continue this once we returned to Houston, but we didn't want to find a studio with 30+ students and the Pilates classes at our current gym didn't give us any feedback on whether we were doing the positions/moves correctly. We turned to yelp for help :) We were looking for the following in a studio to supplement our gym membership: 1) small classes 2) personal attention 3) encouraging and attentive teachers This studio has all 3 of these things, but it's not limited to Pilates! They have yoga and cycling classes that meet the above three requirements too! We've only been members since October, but we look forward to our weekly classes. What's really nice is the class feels tailored to us. My husband and I have different bodies (height, strength, flexibility, etc), and the teachers really adapt to us! They'll change certain routines to ensure each student is getting the most of the session. It's a great personalized experience, and your body will thank you. I've already noticed better posture and just awareness of how I hold myself when doing everyday things at home or at work. What a neat find - thank you, yelpers!

Colorful lights and music throughout the space created a pleasant atmosphere for our practice. They also have clean lockers and restrooms, including showers. Free lockers are available to secure your belongings during class, too. This morning's class was taught by Eugenia Davis, who was warm with a bright smile. She provided excellent instruction and support throughout the flow class. It was a wonderful way to start the day. Thank you for making me feel welcome!

Then I went rock climbing with some of my friends who are yoga teachers. And they climbed those rocks like monkeys. Me? You could say I was more of an elephant trying to clamber up a steep hill. I made a resolution to do more yoga. Robert Boustany developed the Pralaya Yoga System to help develop maximum functional strength. The instructors excel at isolating the parts of the body that require most attention and working through exercises with you to strengthen them. The studio is one room, usually flooded with soft natural light. It's in the Montrose area, serene and beautiful for practice. The instructor made me feel at ease. Unlike other yoga studios where you start to feel like it's a fashion and flexibility competition, Pralaya makes you feel like you are there for your body and mind. And isn't that what yoga is all about? The instructors don't take themselves too seriously, and there are moments when you have to just laugh at frustration about the challenge- in a good way. I won't divulge the powerful secrets of Pralaya yoga, but after my first and second classes quietly and resolutely kicked my a$$, i lay on the ground in savasana and felt restored. My back felt happier, my mind felt peace. Even my fingers and toes felt like they were smiling. FYI- This isn't your typical vinyasa or hatha class. Expect to work hard on strength training and flexibility in muscles you didn't even know you had.

If you want a typical yoga studio/community, this is not it. The class I took a few months ago was with Robert Boustany and he rubbed me the wrong way, with his constant talk about his time with monks in the Himalayas and singling me out during the class. It's also delivered as a hybrid class, which means that there are laptops set up in front of him as he teaches, which took me out of the moment. The people were definitely friendly though.
