Starting with the parking lot... hot mess. I don't know if I came at the wrong time of day, or if this is just a busy place, but it felt like parking too way longer than it should. The store itself is pretty decent. There was good sales, a wide variety of food and produce, and all the contact I had with employees was good. Lines to checkout were decently long, but they actually went by pretty quickly. It is a typical grocery store, and if you shop the sales you can get things at a decent price. Honestly my biggest beef with this place is the bad parking situation. Leaving and getting out was quite a pain too. read more

I usually only go to this Albertsons location for the pharmacy. All the pharmacists are so friendly and helpful! Thank you!

It's inside a little plaza near a gas station USA and next to Del taco and Starbucks. The location is pretty nice if you live on campus-UCI. The people who works here are not always nice, it seems like they work depending on their mood.... But over all, they have what I need an I'm content! read more

Albertsons - They sell stamps and shipping supplies! - Grocery Near Me - Irvine, California

First off--this review is NOT for the staff. They are awesome. Shout outs to the guy who works checkout #1 late nights who talks to everyone and is really cool, to the floor manager who was super nice to me even though I spilled stuff all over the place, to everyone who has helped me find things I needed. You guys rock. That said, I am trying to cut this place out of my life. It is overpriced and there are better options that are potentially better for humanity. Veggies, eggs, other stuff: The University Center farmers' market on saturday mornings is awesome and local and has a good selection of organic / non-certified de facto organic produce and miscellanea. Meat: Organic at Whole foods--you can afford it if you just eat meat less often. Alcohol: The Still has a good selection. Bevmo, which is a bit of a drive, also has an good selection. Sundries: Costco, target are cheaper options if you can drive / carpool there. read more

The parking lot is a zoo - don't even think about trying to come around lunch time. A recent re-organization means items are now in the weirdest places...toothbrushes? Aisle 1, right next to the juice and butter. The point of sale system talks way too much..."please place your SUPER ABSORBENT TAMPONS in the bagging area". Prices are expensive compared to Target and ethnic grocery stores like Wholesome Choice. Specials are often rung up at the regular price. The staff is friendly and it's close to me - alas, I can't take it any longer and will shop elsewhere. read more

And my 100th review goes to......ALBERTSONS! I know, it seems Albertsons doesn't deserve this special recognition, but let me tell you as a former student who has been living in Irvine for 4 years, this supermarket has fed me, took care of me when I was sick, and has been a reliable supplier of alcohol for those crazy ass college parties. I am pretty sure that MANY of you feel the same way! Its proximity to all the apartment complexes and campus makes it ever so convenient to buy whatever you need here. You'll always bump into a friend or a classmate, and sometimes even a professor lol! I've shopped here dressed in my PJs all the time hehe. No shame! Yeah, the fruits and veggies here cost an arm and a leg, but who goes here to buy those things anyway? It's all about the junk food, frozen food, and most importantly instant noodles. We're college kids, remember? And get this: this Albertsons closes at 1am. Like where else does that happen? See how reliable this store is? Yes, I have come here at that hour and there are still a bunch of people around at that time. Craaaazy. read more

This is a great place just for convenience ..but somethings just don't fly with me at all. It has most of the things I need if I need to make a quick stop or don't have much time to go seek out other places to do my grocery shopping. Even though it can get busy (afternoons or on weekends), the lines are not that long. Its close to UCI and always open when I need it which is a plus. I'm a big fan of their guacamole and tortilla chips! Now the negative..and its big NEGATIVES. Please stop serving EXPIRED food!! I have purchased expired food on multiple occasions. I used to assume that grocery stores keep tags on their products and make sure they're selling customers fresh products so I never checked the expiration dates. I bought $10 cheese there, came home and found it full of mold that I had to throw it out! I went back to the store a week later and saw they were still selling the same effing moldy cheese! I saw a worker restocking the shelves and I mentioned to her that some of her cheese went bad. She didn't even notice it! Talk about quality control.. My BF was sick and had to buy soup. We saw soup on sale and bought a few..only to realize that it was expired months ago. I guess that's why it was on sale? Why sell products that are expired?! There were more occasions and now every time I go here I have to be wary whenever I see dust on the products I'm buying AND I always check the expiration dates. If I can avoid this place, I do. I don't have any trouble anywhere else with having expired food on the shelves. Overall, they have great produce but be wary of the freshness of what you're buying! Don't expect and assume because you might come to regret it like I did. read more

The Pros It's the only supermarket conveniently located near the UCI Campus. They've got a good, supermarket-quality bakery. They've got a small but good produce section. I often see workers restocking bags of salad and other veggies during the lunch hour. They've recently remodeled so the store is much more appealing. The Cons From 11:30 - 1 p.m. it's SCREAMINGLY busy as it's located both near UCI and University High School; however, they've done their best to keep lines moving by having many, many self-serve checkout kiosks. It's 10 - 15% more expensive than other Irvine grocery stores. There's almost always a soliciter at each entrance. read more

Excellently run grocery store. Back when C-19 was in full swing in 2020, they did a great job managing the store with lots of precautions and made me feel safe as a shopper, much more so than other places. Secret tip: Bakery clearance is in the back corner between the bakery section and the meat department, can easily pick up 99 cent Garlic bread and other goodies if you're willing to consume them quickly! read more

We had placed a pickup order for March 28, 2020. When we got to the store to pick up the items we had ordered, however, we were turned back because the order sheet on their side showed blank. We were told to call the company's 877 number Customer Service. We did, but could not get someone on the line no matter how long we waited. So, we sent them an email. Today is April 1 and we have not had a response to our email. So, we call Customer Service again - and put on wait again. We wait for an awfully long time, again. No luck! It's as if we have been swindled. This clearly is an extremely incompetent organization. BUYER BEWARE! read more

When I lived in the Bay Area I would never shop at Albertsons I personally find it way too overpriced. Now that I live in irvine and my apartment is less than a minute away I find myself coming here for last min shopping. The store is overall really clean and they have a huge selections especially in the alcohol aisle. I love how the store has the whole UCI pride going on. Another thing I like about this Albertsons is the employees are really nice. Overall I like shopping here, however, I wouldn't come here for all my Grocery shop needs -- ill save that for Walmart (Im a struggling college student -- don't judge me!) Quick tips: open til 1am on weekdays, has redbox as well as a coin star read more

OVERALL: Been coming here for over 9 years now.. this place is consistently great. THE GIST: We all know what Albertson's has to offer, so let's just talk about the highlights of the store! 1) Quarters with a smile: We appreciate the fact that Albertsons had no problem providing us rolls of quarters week after week for laundry. Now we have upgraded to where we don't need quarters anymore, but seriously appreciated not having to get any eye-rolls when all we wanted were quarters! 2) Friendly staff: We always appreciate friendly customer service throughout the store. Pedro L. is our fav with his super awesome attitude. 3) Fresh food and always-in stock: it's what's expected though! FOOD RECOMMENDATION: Have any of you ever tried "It's It" ice cream sandwiches??? If no...you must try it.... they are the best store bought ice cream sandwiches ever.. two oatmeal raisin cookies with vanilla ice cream in-between and dipped in dark chocolate. Heart-attack-totally-worth-it heaven! read more

(+) sometimes, they have the cookie sample jar and I always grab a few when I come here :D (-) SO EXPENSIVE. I know most people don't choose their grocery stores based on Yelp reviews, but I had to chime in all the same. There are a handful of decent employees there, but about 90% of them don't deserve their jobs. Terrible customer service. And this isn't just from a one-time, bad experience. They are right down the street from me, but I've finally decided I'd rather drive the extra miles and shop somewhere else. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE PHARMACY ONLY: I stopped by the pharmacy on Saturday with my prescription, but not my insurance information. The friendly pharmacist there that day was very helpful in trying to explain to me that the medication was extremely expensive without prescription coverage, and that they need at least the insurance ID number to check how much coverage I have. So over the weekend, I found my insurance ID number, and on Monday, I decided to call in to the pharmacy to get an estimated cost of my medication. The guy who picked up the call, David, spoke really fast, sounded like he was very inpatient. Wouldn't even let me finish my sentence and questions. Keep telling me they couldn't do it for me without even listening to my request. He proceed to tell me to call the insurance company instead. Overall, the service was horrible. I would have given it no stars if that was possible. read more

This Albertsons is the nearest grocery store to me, yet I only come here if I really need something and don't have time to go elsewhere. When UCI classes are in session, it's very crowded, and it's always overpriced. Other reviewers have given great advice on better alternatives to this store, like the farmer's market, Trader Joe's, or Ralph's. If I have the time, I'd much rather drive to Fresh and Easy and do my shopping there. I've also had many bad experiences with the self checkout here. The machine would do something crazy and I would need an employee to fix it, only to find that there is no one monitoring the self checkouts or that the person who is supposed to be monitoring them is not paying attention when I try to ask for help. There are very few things that are a good bargain at Albertsons, and when I need something that I can't get elsewhere, I'd rather go to a different Albertsons store. read more

I really appreciate that there's a grocery store so close to the UCI campus, but that does not mean it's right for this store to mark up the prices of almost everything. I do admit that this place saved my butt a few times when I was in need of cold medicine or was craving chips and the like, I could come here since I don't have a car. Even though the staff who work here are friendly and will answer whatever questions you have, it's better to just go buy your produce and fruits at Wholesome Choice or an Asian market like Ranch 99 or H Mart. You'll save quite a bit. read more

One extra star for everyone but the pharmacy staff being really nice :) The other star is because it is a grocery store that is physically present. But seriously, overpriced, VERY rude pharmacy employees. The fresh produce is very poor. I think they just rip off the people that don't have cars on campus. (I know I was being ripped off before I got a bit more mobile). Do yourself a favor and go to Trader Joes, Wholesome Choice, ANYTHING but these guys. read more

Albertson's is a bit pricy, but the service is generally friendly, if not the type of service that is above and beyond. My main complaint with this place would be that so many of their offerings are sold out and not quickly replenished. It's like their system cannot take note of which products are popular and order more of those. In this day and age, this is just bad business. If you have popular products, keep them stocked--otherwise you're sending me down the road to Target and losing my business. read more

Buying flowers and asked Margarita if she could ring me up in floral. She said sure, then proceeded to do other tasks for about 15 minutes until the manager saw me standing there and paged someone to come help. If she helped me out I could've been out of there in 2 mins, instead she stood around and found other stuff to do behind the counter while I waited. Pretty horrible service, don't ring up at the flower section if Margarita is there. Flowers looked nice though so 2 stars. read more

I'm the type of person who likes to give places the most stars I can possibly justify, this Sav-on Pharmacy barely deserves two. It is too bad this review is linked to the Albertsons, because I really have no problem with the grocery store. I'm from out of state, just here for the summer. So it was understandable when the pharmacy had some issues clearing my insurance information. However, instead of working with me to figure my confusing insurance predicament out, the pharmacist collecting my information began rolling his eyes at me like I was intentionally trying to muddle the process. After my insurance company directly called Sav-on, they proceeded to fill my medication. When I explained how disappointed I had been with their service, the pharmacy manager just tried to justify their actions. I get that insurance can be a pain to deal with nowadays, but you'd think that somebody who fills dozens of prescriptions a day would learn to not take their frustration out on the customer. If you can manage to get to another pharmacy, I would not recommend this Sav-on. read more

Inside is cold. Super Expensive compare to other Albertsons. Most customers are students and whats crazy is they should have lower prices for students but they are selling with higher price. Maybe they dont care cuz most students are from other countries. read more

The two stars are only for the helpful employees that I have encountered and convenience. Other than that, I won't be shopping at this location anymore, especially for meat. On three separate occasions, I have bought "fresh" bacon and chicken thighs from their meat and seafood department. The meat was not due to expire for at least 5 days, and on all three occasions the meat smelled suspiciously bad (the same hour I bought it). When I cooked the meat, it tasted suspiciously worse. I don't know if they changed their supplier or what, but for the last 2 months they have been selling bad or expired meat, and labeling it "fresh," which is an issue for a student or any sensible person who does not like wasting money on spoiled groceries. I hope someone looks into this... seriously. read more

At 7 o'clock PM on Friday October 15th Ryan, who was working at the self check out, spoke to me very slowly like I was an imbecile and literally threw up his hands in disgust when the self checkout gave an error. Typical grocery store with large selection of pretty much everything. 3 stars because every time I have bought chicken breast from there, it's already bad, as in no longer edible. Our twenty something niece calls in distress one night - smoke alarm doing the low battery beeping torture routine, eek, eek, eek. Even though the husband often says, "Toughen up and don't be a candy @$$ in life", we left the comfort of our couch and head over to her condo. On the way, we stopped at the Albertsons across from UCI campus for a 10 volt battery. Next to the batteries was a clearance sticker: three disposable Kodak cameras for $7.99 Thinking who knows how much longer these will be around, I bought a pack. "We even have a developing service in case you need them developed." How old school cool is that. - about the battery changing on the niece's smoke alarm, it was a legit service call as the condo owner had painted over the cover making it almost impossible to extract. read more

I like coming here after I get off to pick up almond milk! The workers are cool and they always help out if I can't find what I'm looking for. For my 100th review, I write about Albertson's. It wasn't intentional. I just happened to feel like writing a review for this place, and it turned out to be my 100th. ANYWAYS, on to the review. Students with no cars? This is the place to go for groceries if they don't have it at Trader Joe's. Students with cars and with money to spare? Albertson's will suffice. However, if money is a bit tight, I would suggest going to a Ralphs or a Target or a Sprouts or a Stater Bros, which may be a little bit farther, but you know what? The same products are almost always cheaper, if not the same price. Ralphs also has more and better sales (and a glorious meat section.) If you keep your eye out for coupons, sometimes you can get really great deals. Also, when there are really good sales (like when they have huge discounts on eggs), the items will sell out fast, so if you want a shot at the deals, definitely go early on. Also, vast alcoholic section. 'Nuff said. Beware in the parking lot, whether you are walking or driving or biking. There are a lot of crazies here. read more

Honestly, just experienced one of the rudest workers at this store. Ryan was working at the self-checkout section and when I was checking out, I asked if I could get a hand because the checkout process was confusing. This is the nearest albertsons from where I stay at Irvine. It is the usual! I am not sure what a review for albertsons has to be like. It has all the products which a retailer like Albertsons would sell.. It also has specials on christmas and new years where you collect stamps from your purchases and then you get their gifts. If you end up going here often for your groceries, then you might end up earning some of those goodies. Since its really near the place I live, I go there for all my groceries (except for Trader Joes in the next complex). All in all, it is ALBERTSONS at the end of the day and its just like one of those where you would get everything you need. read more

If it wasn't for it's location, I would give it 2*stars. But being that it is located near UCI, the place is always flooded with students. And the scarcity of some items often occurs. The best times to shop for groceries here are perhaps in the morning. In the afternoon and evening hours, it's full of shoppers, even until the last minutes of closing (1am). Overall, the place isn't too bad because it's open late and close to campus. But if you prefer shopping elsewhere I'd suggest going to the other Albertson's on Alton or Ralph's on Harvard. read more

This grocery store always has great customer service and friendly employees, but this place is expensive! If you're reading this and thinking that you don't know what I'm talking about, try going to Ralph's for your next couple grocery trips and see how much money you save. I usually spend about $35-40 every time I come here and I usually order the same things every time....milk, bread, yogurt, Lean Cuisines, fruit, cereal, deli meat, water, etc. I started going to Ralph's and would buy the same things, and my grocery bill was usually around $25, but many times even less than that. Sometimes you'll find good deals on things here, but if you have to pay full price then you're probably overpaying. Even the "sale" prices aren't even that good if you look at how much you're saving. I still go here all the time because I can walk here from my apartment and it's convenient for just picking up one or two items, but when I do my bigger grocery store trips I usually end up going to the Ralph's at Harvard and Main. read more

Typical Albertsons grocery store. You have your bakery, (small) produce section, meat and seafood department, and food to go section (rotisserie chicken, soups, salads, sandwiches, etc.). Nice that they have the balloons section but usually no one is there to help so you have to holler. They remade the alcohol section so its a GIANT refrigerator with stocks of alc in it now so great for college partiers!
