Great store - modern, great selection, great service and long hours. Love it!

Probably my favorite Albertsons ever because John works here. He is a white tall guy in his mid 40s but he is so so so nice he always brightens my day. However, they are really taking the advantage of their location by having such expensive house hold items etc... I understand that they are the closes grocery store to UCI but their prices are outrages. If your going to buy alcohol, don't buy it from here, because its like a few more dollars compared to Wholesfood. read more

This is your typical Albertsons but well run, organized and clean. I like coming here when I'm in the area. Get your Disney tix here at the local discount. read more

Albertsons. The place you go to get what you need and get out asap. Close to UC Irvine, they have a little bit of everything which is nice. Some items are astronomically expensive but on the whole you can do decent shopping for generic brands and items and be on your way. Staff and Cashiers are very friendly and will get you in and out and on your way. Definitely convenient. read more

The checkers are really friendly and get to know you if you shop there regularly. The place is full of students either shopping in their PJ's or in large groups for a late-night booze run. They have a walk-in liquor fridge in the back and seem ti carry a wider selection of alcohol. The prices are higher than other chains, but that seems to be the norm for Albertson's. I loved their cookware for a penny campaign, especially when the checkers would always give me a few extra stickers! read more

I frequently shop at Albertsons because it's right across the street which is a great convenience for a girl who does not own a car. I always find what I need and love that it's open from 6am-1am everyday. The night staff is awesome and that's why I prefer to do my shopping at night. Especially Schuyler, who is one of the night time managers. He always has a good attitude when I come in for my weekly shopping. One time I bought some cheese that was unfortunately moldy and he was very helpful and offered to exchanged it. Thanks Albertsons! read more

Albertsons in general is not my favorite grocery store because of their penchant for selling expired meat. This one is a huge rip off and about 20% more expensive than other grocery stores in the area. They take the local students here and shakem down for all their cash. I just spent $6.49 on a container of cream cheese. read more

I very much wish that this were a great supermarket, but it is unfortunately not very good. The prices are on the high side for an Albertsons, perhaps to take advantage of the UC Irvine students who shop here since it is easily the nearest supermarket to campus. There are relatively few registers open at any one time, and it is often very crowded, especially in the evening. Most people use the self-serve checkouts. Having a preferred club card can make a big difference on how expensive it is to shop here depending on what one buys. Many of the people who work here are very nice. They are, however, understaffed for a full-service supermarket. read more

I've been shopping at this Albertsons since 1988 through my undergrad years, my sisters undergrad years and solidly after returning to irvine for work at UCIrvine. Nothing compares to the fresh produce, meat and deli. Service is five stars. The response to customer needs has yet to be matched elsewhere. Just recently started selecting meats and seafood from butcher block, advice is always readily offered and never disappoints. Many great dinners thanks to Matt and Trevor. read more

Smart management! They hire people with great personalities and it matters to customers like me who are tired of rude and careless customer service of other places. The reason I decided to write this review is that I was extremely happy with how Mia at the bakery handled the Barbie B-Day cake for my daughter. She was extremely helpful and resourceful with ideas. She should get a raise:)Thumbs up also to the guys in the meet department who are super attentive. read more

Takes me literally one minute to bike to albertsons and love it!! You can also get some Asian stuff here like Kim chee, Korean ramen, bitter Mellon, bok choy, gyoya wrapper. One of my fav markets because it's so close and convenient. I like their fresh produce, meats, groceries, toiletries, redbox, and everything here. The bakery is pretty good too. Wish they are 24 hours but they are not. Tried to get some bone marrow and they didn't have it. One time I got wild salmon and it had a white worm swirling inside. But I think that just means it's super fresh. Well seafood is hit or miss though. Other than that, this place is great and my go-to read more

I have been shopping at this Albertsons for over 10 years. I feel comfortable shopping here because the store manager, Ed and the assistant store manager take the time to say hello each and every time I see either of them. The employees are very friendly and most of all, always willing to help me find any item I'm trying to locate in the grocery store. read more

This is my Favorite grocery store. This store has the friendliest and most helpful associates. Everyone is friendly from the Managers down to the bag boys.If you ever have any problem with anything you buy they are more than happy to exchange it or give you your money back no questions asked. I have often returned or told the produce manger about problem with something I bought and Bob replaced it sight unseen. Of course Bob is one of the best produce managers you will ever meet. He will always gets me the most fresh produce for me. I shop for a 97 year old lady and I only have time to shop once a week. So my produce has to last. They have excellent produce. The butcher dept. is great also. John will cut me small fillet mignon if they don't have any out. If there is anything you want to buy and they don't have it ask someone about it and they will let you know if they can get it . They will try and keep their customers happy. I have been shopping @ Albertson's for 10 years. I spend $60-100 a week and I am very happy. I look forward to my grocery shopping. read more

I know when I'm being exploited. It's called a grocery store, but it's priced like a 24 hour 7-Eleven in the middle of the desert. It's stocked like one, too. Nice way to take advantage of the car-less local students, Albertsons. I wonder how many of them realize they're being totally raped by those prices? Same goes for the ONE gas station on this side of town. Thank GOD I have a car... along with a sense of dignity and direction! read more

I am hesitant to leave this review because I actually think the cakes this bakery produces are delicious but the bakery manager (Luis) is SO rude that it's not worth ordering anything from here. He always has a horrible attitude and even when the bakery messed up my order and gave me a custom cake I had ordered with all the wrong colors, he brushed it off and didn't even apologize and just gave me a $2 discount. Next time, keep your $2 and provide some satisfactory customer service and apologize for your mistake. His prices are all over the place for the cakes as well. Nothing is consistent. I was not happy with my last two experiences here. read more

They have the friendliest people working there. Everyone says hello and will help you find anything. The Deli gets pretty busy when the High School kids mob the store at lunch time, but other than that it's a real pleasure to shop here. read more

this review is for the pharmacy only: The employees are ok except for one pharmacist of Mandarin origin, who is the most pompous A$$ I've seen. As one reviewer already pointed out they had so much trouble sorting out my insurance and this particular man was so condescending and rude to me when I tried to explain that my insurance covered the said medications,He won't even bother to check with my insurance and tried to convince me that insurance policy had changed since previous years and this year my meds would not be Covered (which was a bare faced lie- he is not updated at all!!!) and lied to my face that he would fax the insurance about the mess to inquire, I had to pay nearly $100 out of pocket for my meds before they cleared it up. And all the while he acted as if I was trying to get meds for free out of him. After that I wouldn't even go for a refill if I see him working in there. The other employees are much better though. I have no complaints about the Albertsons grocery section. read more

Its a good grocery & everything store, has everything required in day to day life. Alcohol section is good too. You can trust the bakery, amazing. The meat department is pretty at par in terms of price with other grocery stores around. Speedy checkout and self-checkout is very user-friendly. Overall, satisfactory experience for 5 years now. read more

It is convenient since I live up the street but boy they really play a lot of games. First of all their eggs for some reason are more expensive than any other market and I am not even talking about organic. Their seafood is a sad sad story....most likely they do not sell a lot so it best to be avoided. Their meat department is OK....nothing special and their prices are comparable to any other market. This particular store caters to a lot of UCI students so I think they take full advantage of it, which is kind of shameful since many students are on tight budgets and they charge top dollar for many items that students rely on. Thankfully Trader Joes is a block down the street so it provides a second option. Managers and people running Supermaket chains listen up....STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF and start charging fair prices. You should profit but not take advantage and charge whatever you can get away with!!!! You are selling food and not luxury products! read more

(First, the woman who works in the pharmacy and helped my daughter was vey nice. She really tried to help her the best she could In the end, she called another pharmacy and called in the prescription so my daughter wouldn't have to wait one more day or drive 20 minutes away to another Albertson's. So, this negative review is more about the man, who I am assuming is the pharmacist or store manager. I think it was his attitude on the phone with me that prompted me to write this review.) After spending her morning at the student health center, my very ill daughter had to drive herself to this pharmacy only to be told they don't have the inhaler she needs to help her breathe with her just-diagnosed pneumonia. They said they could get it the following day. She went through a long appointment with x-ray and blood tests, and this was the last thing she needed. You'd think in a town with so many students and their asthma cases, they would stock up on inhalers. She did get her antibiotic, but they wouldn't let her use her health flex card, because her dad's name is on the card. Two of my kids have used this card for all their pharmacy and dr expenses while away at school.... and I've used the card to pay off medical bills (over the phone). This is the first time it was rejected. They already put her through the torture of waiting for medicine they don't have, and then they told my daughter she had to to cough up the $75 copayment for her antibiotic. I had to hurry and put money into her account, meanwhile keeping my daughter waiting with a fever and who can hardly breathe. The person on the phone was incoherent.... and in a rush. He says my husband has to call and give the information so they can fax him authorization to sign and fax back so they can approve the charge if my daughter is to use the card. People get medical marijuana more easily than it is for my daughter to get an inhaler to help her breathe. Follow Up: Called Healthcare company and they said the purchase is authorized for the spouse and dependents of the person named on the card. Rite-Aid ran the charges through -- no problems, whatsoever. read more

Went to their store at Alton today. They are advertising 36 ct water bottles at $ 2.99. They had plenty of other water but not the advertised one. I went at 10.a.m. and it was out of stock. Why do they advertise if they don't mean to give it to customers. The staff when contacted was not helpful. Cheap gimmicks to bring in customers. read more

This Albertsons caters to the students by carrying lots of junk food. Beware of the students as they drive crazy in the parking lot as well as the aisles of the supermarket. This store has gone downhill since they remodeled several years ago. It used to be a good family store but now is just like a hang out for students.Prices are higher than other stores.Lots of alcohol is sold here so they have a large alcohol dept and small produce dept. Go to Ralphs or Trader Joes for more of a real market. read more

This grocery store is not good value, I prefer to go to Trader Joes (just down the road), costco or sprouts. A lot of the fresh food here is a rip off, it encourages you to eat unhealthy frozen meals since that and ramen are the only cheap stuff. Also beware if you are an international student, they do not accept passports as ID for alcohol (only CA drivers licence). Go to The Still in the same centre for alcohol, they are friendly and well priced. I go here for prescriptions since they are convenient for this. read more

I love this albertsons only because John works here. He is seriously amazing and he brightens my day as well. The food is pricey but it's great quality so you know you get what you pay for. The alcohol selection is pretty big but they can get a bit pricey but hey it's Irvine! read more

I'll be honest, the only reason to come to this store is because of the best cashier in the world- John. Honestly I would rather wait in a ten person line just to speak to John than self check-out. John is the best. read more

This is a busy supermarket with a lot of customer as college students because it is close to UCI. I shop there very often because it is the closest supermarket from where I lived. The cashiers are generally very friendly and they helped you to carry stuff to your car when asked. read more

Good place for location and has discounts once in a while. Great to do last minute shopping and close to where I live. Has a recycling center around the back to get some money back (woot more money for groceries), a redbox, coinstar and CA lottery. Some deals are really nice, such as Farmer's John's 88 cent per pound chicken, $2 off on pork (if you buy 3 of them) and vegetables/some fruit are reasonably priced here. I agree, some discount items are located in a terrible place, but the good is that they always keep the place clean. The staff are nice and will get things from the back when it is not available on display, especially some discount items. read more

This is a regular grocery store. It could use a renovation though. I feel like it is a little old looking inside. However, it is usually fully stocked and they don't normally run out of any one item. They have GREAT customer service though. That is why I would give them 4 stars. They are so used to serving college students who constantly just buy alcohol I think they are just so used to being nice to everyone. There is an old man who has white hair that is really really nice. He is THE sweetest thing. He always, never ever fails to ask you questions or joke around with you. If you like to make conversation, he is the guy for you. I personally think he is hilarious and really means well so that is why I always try to go to his check-out lane whenever I come here. Their alcohol collection is quite extensive so that is a plus. The hours for this store are pretty convenient as well, it closes at 1 am, so you should have plenty of time to get your things!! One thing that I do not quite like about this location is the area where they sell cigarettes, there usually is not a person who stands behind the counter to serve you so you have to wait for someone to come over and sometimes I've waited for what seemed like a long time. read more
