There is a certain necessity of visiting a neighborhood grocery store from time to time; despite the fact that I don't do my grocery shopping at these stores since their whole service model and employee training programs went the way of the dodo in the post-strike era, there are times that it's easier to duck in to Albertsons to pick up some coffee creamer or a bag of ice. And in each of these moments, I am reminded that this store, like so many other grocery stores that once catered to customers and not corporate masters, has various tragic flaws. In no particular order: - Attention cashiers: When you're scanning my groceries, it is not appropriate to ignore me, fail to acknowledge my presence, reprimand me for selecting a piece of fruit that doesn't have the sticker with the SKU you can't seem to remember and are now "forced" to look up in the cheat-book with a heavy sigh, tell me how much dry ice I need (as opposed to me telling you how much I need), act annoyed when your haphazardly-wrapped chicken drips blood all over your conveyor belt despite my efforts to bag a 20 inch polystyrene meat boat in a 16 inch long plastic bag provided by your company, and/or have a personal albeit PG-13 conversation about the would-be sexual exploits of the high school kid bagging groceries. - Attention in-store Starbucks workers: You have the Cinnamon Dolce Latte and the Tooth-Enamel-Destroying Mint Latte containers mislabeled. Please look into this. - Attention cart-retrievers/store managers: I appreciate your concern for my health by providing anti-bacterial wipes to dab-off the remnants of whatever detritus the cart pusher before me was pawing through. However, please note that when all of the carts available to me for selection from the front of your store (or more likely, from somewhere in the parking lot) contain those used and hastily discarded wipes...along with other assorted trash, store ads, and used Starbucks cups... well, I don't really want to place food I hope to purchase and ultimately consume in close proximity to that stuff. Long, slow lines due to only one register opened is something of an expectation here. As grocery stores go, this one is not the worst... If I didn't hate Wells Fargo with a fiery passion, the in-store bank would be convenient. There is a good selection of produce and products, a pharmacy (if you're into that sort of thing), a hot bakery with a small selection ranging from donuts to sheet cakes, and a hot deli that always seems lively. THis is not my first choice for weekly grocery shopping. But at 7 a.m. on a quiet Saturday morning, when you discover that you're out of International Delight, and your sweetie won't drink her coffee any other way... Albertsons: It's Your Store! read more

I understand that working during a pandemic as essential personnel must be stressful, but there's no reason here for the staff to be racist. The cashier and bag lady (both older Caucasian women) were extremely nice to the Caucasian gentleman who checked out before me. They took time to talk to him and the bagger even separated all his items out into separate paper bags so that "it wouldn't be too heavy for him to lift." Then came my turn. They took one look at me (Asian female) whispered something to each other, and the bagger left to a different lane. The cashier then snapped at me (I hadn't even said a word to anyone at this point), and told me I could rebag my items myself. I kept my interaction very minimal because I was already extremely uncomfortable with their behavior. As I finished paying and started to bag my items, she rang up the gentleman behind me, who was also Caucasian, continued pleasantries with him and bagged HIS items. Note that I had less than 10 items so it wasn't like I was inconveniencing her with my purchase. I don't mind bagging my own items, but for them to act with extreme prejudice is unwarranted and cowardly. It's 2020. Get over your xenophobia. I'll never come here again. read more

Gonna keep this short and simple... The Store Manager/GM is absolutely disrespectful, repetitive and has the need to constantly interrupt you when you're trying to speak. I get it, there are a bunch of people that think we're about to have a zombie apocalypse but this guy does not know how to handle his shit. 20 minutes in to the store opening and he can't even keep eye contact with WHILE being a dick. I raised it to two stars because on the other hand, the meat department worker Jose and one of the Assistant Managers Russell handled the situation with the upmost patience and respect. Convenient location with a Starbucks and Wells Fargo inside. Store is organized, clean, and includes a deli, pharmacy, and sushi section. There's also 2 Red Box kiosks inside! Albertsons is pricier than other markets, but it's worth it for the cleanliness and is one of the only American markets in the Arcadia/El Monte neighborhood. Sometimes they BBQ in front of the store on the weekends. Private parking lot with plenty of parking. There's even a Subway and Optometrist in the same plaza. Great neighborhood market! read more

When you need some last minute bouquet of flowers, this is my go to spot :) I pretty much purchase flowers more so than groceries at Albertsons haha. I feel like they're more on the pricier side than if I were to go to Stater Bros. The employees here are wonderful and whenever I do come to hunt down something here, they always have their shelves stocked nicely! Very clean establishment and their parking lot is huge! read more

I came here for groceries and Fried chicken. Bread all the time. Last night I brought my bread home it is like chocolate color. I came back to try to exchange another one. I check it it all dark like chocolate. I ask the lady in Bakery department she said she made a mistake it's all like that but her manager said okay to sell it. It is not right to do that. You can not eat it. It was all Over baked bread. They turn the dark side inside the bag. When you look at the clear side. You can not see it is over baked. I've had a few experiences with this store selling expired producing their shelf but yesterday was the worst of it all. The rotisserie chicken was awful. It had an unusual smell but I didn't think much of it. Took it home. Put it in the oven (I do that sometimes) went to cut a piece and WHOA!!! I called and spoke to Mike. He said "don't worry we'll take care of you!" I asked Mike if there are any more chickens... he said no. Anyway, returned to the store. Got a refund and a new chicken (but i thought there weren't any ‍) and the SAME thing. I cannot!!! I called and spoke to Russ this morning. He didn't seem too impressed. Only said, "okay I'll have to maybe check one out. And wait to the deli". Ummmmm okay! I doubt I'll be returning to this store. Great store to shop at. What I love about this store is the wide selection of fruits and veggies. I love how when you walk in to the left hand side, there is a whole section dedicate to produce. Whenever I am craving good produce I tend to come to Albertson's. The pricing of most stuff is expensive. I average $60-$90 for a weeks worth of food where in other locations I average $30-$50. I'm not a big fan of the prices, but I know if I need something, it will be there. Staff and employees tend to generally be nice and kind. I haven't encountered employees as much since I use self-checkout. The hot foods tend to be pretty good. I love their chicken. I don't eat it often but when I am craving something fast, I like to come here and get me some chicken legs and thighs. Overall, I give this place a 4/5. read more

Went grocery shopping on Tues 7/19 around 4pm. and I was using the self check out, there was no bags, no assistance and I see all the worker just walking around doing nothing. After I finished the self check out, I stop to look at my receipt, because I am a honest person and I felt like something was off on the total. As I was looking at my receipt and looking around for some kind of assistance, a old lady that works there pushing a broom rudely directly behind, like she trying to force me to move out of the store, yells, "EXCUSE ME! YOU NEED TO MOVE". I look at the lady and realized it was the same old red head lady, that is always rude to me every time I come to this store location, may be it is because I am a dark skin Hispanic. I told the red head lady, "You are always in a bad mood, when ever I come to this store, maybe you should find another job", She replied with a rude laugh and slur under her voice, I don't understand why Albertsons allows rude people like that, to work in the community store, this employee with the big push broom, could of easily went around me or offered me some kind of assistance, but she had to show her superior authority over another human being and try to force me to move, with her large broom she was rudely pushing behind me. I do not want my family and neighbor hood friends, have to deal with rude people at Albertsons. read more

The customer service at this Albertsons is horrible. They alway only have one lane open and you can never find a staff member to help if needed, however when you go self check out there will magically appear a staff member hover over you. They make you feel like your stealing or doing something wrong. Instead of profiling customers maybe they should just open another lane and check out there customers. read more

What can I say about A Supermarket? Lots! They have the greatest customer service! When you're pushing the carts around, any staff that sees you greets you & asks if you need any assistance. The store is usually well stocked, clean, & organized. The Butcher Dept has friendly and wonderful service. They are always cheery & helpful. They'll cut majority of meats for you, take special requests, & hold orders for if you call in. I was once over charged for something. They refund my money & gave me the item for free. How could you not be satisfied with such customer service? My go to supermarket. See you guys soon! read more

Just like Mr. Patrick P, I had to come here after Super A moved away (hey that rhymes!). This market has a huge parking lot next to a Subway, 7-eleven and some random doctor buildings. Inside they have a Starbucks and TWO Redbox rental booths! I love Redbox so I'm happy they have two boxes to meet the high demand in the area. One of the best if not actually the only Albertsons around this area. I come here weekly for all my veggies or small things I need. They always have everything in stock. The staff here is amazing, ive been coming here for over 10 years and the crew doesn't change much, I usually only see a few new faces around the holidays. They did away with the Club card, but I find that the sales are not as good as Vons and Ralphs. I split up my weekly grocery trips into 3 market types...Asian grocer, American name brand (e.g. Ralphs/Vons) and Trader Joe's. I browse the weekly circulars and plan my shopping accordingly. I notice that I rarely find deals there and I only go if beer is on sale (usually need the coupon from their ad for the beer) The best thing though. . . . their fancy new black shopping carts. This Albertsons is the closest grocery store to my house...so yes, It's My Store. The selection of stuff here is good - not great. What is great here is the service! All of the employees are so attentive and engaging - the managers as well. They periodically do little events for the customers. For example, during Easter weekend they had BBQ, face painting, cake egg docorating, and a giant rabbit for the kids. My boys loved it! There are also periodic sales on meat and produce as you walk in. They also have a huge selection of pre-cut and pre-prepared veggies. I love their stuffed mushrooms! I went in to find a type of meat cut. I overheard this employee talking in Spanish and I was so surprised because the meat I was looking for I only know it in Spanish so I asked for help in Spanish. I didn't want to sound or be a rude person and speak in English , all I wanted was to communicate cause I needed help finding what I went in for. So I asked and he proceeded to talk to me in English. He showed me the meat cut that I was asking and I said thank you. As I am walking away, he straight up told me " You're lucky I speak English" in a most rudest voice and attitude and I kid you not . I turned around and Walked away. This employee kept following me to the cashier to check out and followed me outside and I'm pretty sure he knew what kind of car I got into. Albertsons is the most closed grocery store to me. I go in for something and I don't spend a lot of time shopping but this type of comment was very unnecessary. This happened on 05/28/2020 at 7:23 am. The employer was dressed as if he worked in the meat department so he has all the proper clothing for it, white coat etc etc .... I'm a Latina young woman , yes I speak Spanish because both my parent are Mexican but I was born in the country and these types of situations are very unpleasant but it's more disturbing that it happens in a grocery store at 7 am. read more

If you live by Pholicious or Santa Anita / live oak, Albertson is literally down the street. I like it because its only less than a mile down where my boyfriend lives and I can always pick up something and just cook it there. a Starbucks is also located inside of the store, however, they do have their own time of when they will be opened. So, if I can give this store zero stars I would! Long story short.. I have to say the store manager ED is the worse person ever! He probably hates his job!! Since all this madness is going on.... we stood in line for a super long time! We get to the self check out and Ed comes specifically to us! While everyone in line as well had larger carts then us.. he started to fight with me and my husband and tell us we could not check out at the self check out line.. then he stated to us that self Check out has then become 15 items or less!!! Well where was the heck was the sign that states that?!? There was none! He then locks our register and tells us he is not going to help us! Ok-- we move to the next check out-- Ed gets on the phone and calls the cops! Well what do ya know.. they show up we tell them our story .. good to know the cops told good ol' Ed that he wasted our time and we could have been in and out of the store! We waited an hour!!!! I honestly couldn't believe that the store manager couldn't just scan his card and enter his code ... but no! He wanted to be an ass! I'm giving it 5 stars after a 1 star experience with the bakery. The woman in the bakery making cakes was extremely rude and unfriendly when I asked a question about needing a small amount of frosting on the side to add to the cake I had just purchased. I was willing to pay for it. Her recommendation was to go to the aisle and buy a can of frosting. Obviously the quality would not match which is why I buy cakes from the bakery. Me and my family always buy our cakes here and never have had an issue. She came out from the back just to glare at us and look at us up and down. I spoke to a girl in customer service and the manager and both were so friendly and understanding. I'm a long time customer of this store because the staff has always been friendly and they maintain the store so clean. They both handled the situation professionally and made me feel like customer satisfaction is their key priority and I'm so thankful for them making such an annoying experience resolved. If a policy is in place I completely understand but the lady at the bakery just seemed annoyed with us and angry to the point of feeling uncomfortable. I'm glad I spoke to customer service because I'm the type of person that if I have a bad experience I don't go back. I used to like this store, but early Saturday morning went in to buy some needed items and I had my 85 year old mom with me, we were butn wearing masks n my mom went to the deli to get much meat n the lady behind the counter was very rude, she was yelling at my mom to speak up, I walked over n said mom you don't need that, threem when we got to the checkout the guy aughing the register says to me do you have bags I said yes he yells well I'm not going to touch your bags I said that's fine we can bag. An okay Albertsons. I stop in when I'm in the southern end of Arcadia. I much preferred the smaller one in Hastings Ranch, alas that one is gone. There's a pretty good selection of items, but I didn't feel the prices were any better than Ralphs. When I called & spoke with Kathleen she assured me it would not be a problem & to just ask for her once I arrived. I was with my husband buying Refresh water bottles. We've Checkout in 2 separate transactions at Self Checkout register, each buying 2 cases per transaction. We were about to walk out, the Albertsons rep Javier said to my husband you can't buy 4 cases of water in 1 household and start making a scene with my husband. My husband got really upset. Javier start giving my husband an attitude. I wonder where Javier learn his manners and customer service skills. I've pointed out to Javier, look at another Latino family, they bought 4 cases too. The Latino family said oh we bought 2 cases per transaction, which is the same situation as us. Javier said the Latino family can't do that, he went to talk to the register person that rang them up. Javier didn't make a scene with the Latino family at all. He let the Latino family go without any hassle. We did not want to make the scene any bigger in the market. My husband apologized to him, which was ridiculous because we were not at fault. Javier should be the person apologizing but his attitude toward this situation is like a racist battle. Javier made us return 2 cases and get a refund. We felt like Javier just discriminated us because we were Asian. If we were Latinos or other race, I'm sure Javier will not make a scene. Lazy employees. Sale items not stocked timely. Issues rainchecks without the intention to honor them (They tried, more than once, to dice and slice. For example, 'the raincheck says Apple Juice, not 'not from concentrate' or 'three apple blend', so we cannot give it to you for the same price. Same with Oreo 'double-stuff'). Those fools suddenly become manufacturing and legal experts when they try their best to refuse to honor their original prices as advertised. Be sure to take a picture of the ad, because they will find all sorts of stupid excuses. One time I had a raincheck dated 12/29 and went back on 1/28. Without even counting, the clerk said: 'it's expired already'. I have not run into so many stupid people under one roof. Avoid this joint. It's run by trailer trash. read more

After my beloved Super A Foods closed down, I've been left stranded, trying to find a supermarket that can fill that void in my stomach. This Albertson's is one of the closer ones within the vicinity. Should mention that the venue also includes a Wells Fargo (2 ATMs), Starbucks booth, Sav-On Pharmacy, as well as 2 Redbox and one Coinstar machines. I find that I favor the Albertsons on Huntington, perhaps because it's in a nicer plaza or is larger in size. The supermarket chain is somewhat more pricey than I would have liked, but as long as you shop smartly, you can make do here. It's still no Super A... maybe a Decent B though. read more

Was here recycling cans & you take the vouchers inside for cash or towards your groceries. I opted for groceries, a guys gotta eat. The parking lot is fairly big and spread out, unlike the Ralphs down the street. The store is clean and fairly big. Carts are clean for the most part and are in good working condition (no weird wobbles). There was a greeter at the door handing out the weekly ads and the game pieces for the latest promo thats goin on (which sucks, its kinda like the Mcdonalds Monoply game where you have to collect stamps and all of the ones you get are mostly duplicates. I personally would like them to bring back the pots and pans promo). Lots of good deals on the 10 for $10 section - hey Im on a budget. I prefer this Albertsons over the Ralphs - Will be back! read more

Working in the customer service field it feels good being asked how you are and starting a conversation in which this makes you feel like family. If I could give this Albertsons a zero I would. The cashiers here are the rudest people I've ever encountered. I hate that it's the closest market to me or I would never step foot into it again. They'll literally toss my groceries and most of the time you have to bag your own food. Today the cashier (a young girl) threw my food so hard it landed too far for me to reach and bag it myself and when I asked her if she could move them closer so I could reach she gave me a dirty look at pressed the button that rotates the conveyer belt. And this isn't even the second or third time I've experienced this kind of horrible costumer serves. If you don't have to go to this hell hole do yourself a favor and don't. read more

They have a horrible organic produce section. Just about every time I buy strawberries, green beans, onions, etc., they have mold on them the next day. This has happened on 3 occasions now. I check them thoroughly before buying. I have shopped at other markets and have never had this happen. I won't be taking a chance at this market again. In addition to that, the canned and jarred goods frequently have expiration or best by dates that have passed. Sometimes by more than a few months. Everything else about this market has been great. I just wish they were on top of their produce and other things left on the shelves too long. read more
