2 stars is probably generous but I love locally owned restaurants. We went a few weeks ago and Gina was our server. She was nice enough to us. We had risottas (Mine was salmon and other diner hadc prosutto risotta). Both were pretty disgusting. Very salty. Risotto was dry and hard as opposed to creamy. Prosutto tasted moldy. We left most of our food yet Gina made no mention as she picked up our plates. She was ready to go home for sure. A couple walked in at 7:30pm and she rudely said they closed at 8. Alberto's is a charming farmhouse restaurant in Gallatin that specializes in home-cooked Brazilian fare and European desserts. The Brazilian menu is *delicious* and well worth the short trip from Nashville. (There are lots of non-Brazilian selections as well, but I will happily stick to the Brazilian items--and the desserts!) The staff is small during the pandemic, but the service was terrific. The restaurant is currently limiting capacity to do its part to keep the community safe. I can't wait to return. read more

Amazing ! This place doesn't look like much from the outside but once inside , it's a very cozy atmosphere . The staff are warm and welcoming and make you feel like you are family . The food is absolutely delicious and far from your average chain restaurant meals. Very unique ! Save room for the desserts though! We've been to Alberto's about five times. Each time I try a different dish. I agree with the shabby chic; even the various entrees come in different, yet coordinated dishes. This past visit, we Past Night. This was a delight. Two friends had Spaghetti Carbonara. One liked it, my husband didn't. He said it was pasty and tasteless. I had the Lasagna with a side salad, which were delicious. Fourth guest had the Spaghetti and Meatballs, which she stated were delicious. Those friends also enjoyed a slice of cheesecake. We brought our own wine; there is no uncorking fee. Service was a little slow, and we had to go to the server to ask for our checks. There is not sufficient parking at the converted home, but on weekdays/nights, it is not a problem. We will continue to keep Alberto's at the top of our favorite dining places. read more

The food is delicious and authentic Brazilian. We had the pastel (it is huge, a complete or even two meals). The feijoada is also good. I was really delighted with the sweets. It is has been a while that I have been looking for good desserts in Nashville area and their eclairs, the strawberry truffle, dream made me to remember Brazil. Had a wonderful dinner with 9 ladies last night. I had left a message for reservations, they called back promptly. The table was ready when we arrived. The server was very kind, patient and knew the menu very well. She was very good with recommendations. The meal came in good time. It was excellent. All was pleased with their choices. Some dishes that were tried were the chicken salad, risotto, pasta rotini masion, pastel and stroganoff. Desserts of fruity mousse, small French apple tart and a dessert of the day which was Bem Casado doce leite with Belgium chocolate were excellent! My husband and I enjoyed lunch at Alberto's on a Saturday. This is a new restaurant, off the beaten path between Gallatin and Hendersonville, TN. It's located in an adorable old house with three rooms of tables. It is billed as Brazilian and European fare, so there is something for everyone. We started with the Coxinha Sampler. These are cone shaped dough stuffed with mildly spiced ground beef, mildly spiced chicken, and ham and cheese. They are lightly fried, but not greasy, and quite delicious. You receive 2 of each for $5.94. While we were devouring the coxinha, our server brought us out a new appetizer, compliments of the chef. These were fried rice balls with cheese and bacon--seriously delicious. For lunch my husband ordered the spaghetti Bolognese ($12.75) and I had the Stroganoff Maison ($11.95) which was similar to beef stroganoff but served over mashed potatoes. Both were perfect for a rainy afternoon, warm and comforting. We both decided to ask for to-go boxes so that we could save room for dessert. Alberto's is also a bakery and they have incredible pastries. My husband got the Chocolate Overload Torte ($6.50) which lived up to its name. I ordered the Bem Casado doce leite which was like a little shortbread cake filled with dulce de leche and wrapped up like a little present. Alberto's also offers fresh squeezed juices and a Brazilian soda, but no alcohol as of yet, however, they allow you to bring in your own, so we will be back with a bottle of wine for dinner. Very cool and interest place. It's nestled back off the road in an old converted farmhouse. The restaurant was filled with beautiful art and decorated very nicely. The lights were a bit bright for dinner, but the place had a really great look. The menu is Brazilian /European fusion and is very unique in a good way. .We bought our own bottle of wine which they corked at no charge. As we're kind of foodies we tend to sample a lot on an interesting menu. For appetizers we ordered Coxinha sampler and the Finger Food Sampler, for dinner we ordered the Shrimp Carbonara, Pastel and Stroganoff Maison. For dessert we ordered the Carrot Cake, Apple Tart, Pudim coco & queijo, and a few more. The food was excellent! Very good presentation and was seasoned perfectly. The Carbonara was some of the best I've ever had. They had a very creative take on the Stroganoff which was fantastic! Here's the reason for the 3 star rating. 5 for food, 5 for the decor and 1 1/2 for service = 3. The service was pretty bad. We would have sampled more if we were not rushed. The young lady was kind of friendly I guess. We would have appreciated a better explanation of the menu especially given we were not familiar with this type of food. Each item in the sampler was delicious, but without an explanation of what each is makes it hard to order again or more of one on the sampler, She corked the bottle and left the foil jagged..OK picky I guess, but it all adds up. She never picked up our dinner plates, asked to refill our waters and ask if we'd like desert. There was a very nice man that was bringing out these wonderful apple tarts and we had to ask him to help with our deserts, He obliged. He gave us our deserts and our dinner plates were still on the table. Our waitress was bussing another table in the other room and we asked if she could clear our table...she looked a bit annoyed but cleared it anyway....never brought spoons for deserts as we were sharing 5-6 deserts that would have been nice, never asked if we'd like a coffee...nothing. The kind of last straw was while we were enjoying our wonderful deserts and having an active conversation when she abruptly interrupts and sticks the credit card machine in my face I mean 8 inches and says mind paying the check. We did get a good laugh out of it later. Really rude..pretty sure as there was only one other table with guests she wanted to get out of there. It was 7;30 and we arrived at 6;:00 so don't think we wore out our welcome even though that's how it felt. So billed paid, still no coffee, she kept peeking out of the kitchen door. We did get another chuckle ...like, look she can't wait for us to leave. Well we got the hint and left. I would highly recommend the food and decor but hope they get a handle on the service. Our bill for 4 was 100.00 that's with ordering a couple appetizers, 4 entrees and 5-6 deserts, probably would have ordered more if we weren't rushed but all and all very reasonable for the quality. read more

This place is legit. The food is amazing and homey, with the best eggs I've had in my almost 45 years. The service is impeccable (Leah is young but attentive and sweet to boot) and our table's special requests were handled easily and without mistake. This is a good place to go when you can't think of anything when in Gallatin. Gallatin is a growing suburban city north of Nashville. I didn't expect anything new? I was so super excited to see my plate was full. They did not skimp me on a portion and it was a unique experience. I am happy with the delivery service too where we enjoyed pizza and pasta. The quality of food that they make will surprise you, but come hungry. If I were to rate food in Gallatin, TN, I would rate this restaurant as higher than it is now. What a lovely little gem we found while staying in Hendersonville, only 10 minutes away. We went late for dessert, which was delicious and coffee was perfect. The atmosphere was lovely, we felt like we were in a European family style restaurant, the wait staff was very good. This has to be the most disappointing meal I've ever had! Nothing at all says Brazil, the food was terrible. The Coxinha chicken was nothing even close to Brazil, it was sliced chicken patties that you would see at a elementary school. The cheese croquettes were maozzerlla sticks that were cooked so long there were no longer any cheese in them. Bolinha was literally a fried meat ball no where close to authentic. The pao de quillo was terrible, undercooked yet very dry. Pastels were bland and sandwiches were sub par as well. Service was extremely slow and none attentive. Will not be back. read more

First visit...which was last week...recommended by a friend...was good except they forgot to put my husband's order in....so we share my meal..but the atmosphere was good..the food good...didn't leave a real lasting impression on me. But I gave them another chance this last weekend. Even took some friends from out of town to impress them. Services was horrible. We were seated..and not by such a friendly staff...she left us sitting there for about 30 minutes before returning to ask if we wanted an appetizer...never asked if we wanted drinks. That came out about 20 minutes later. After that, it all went downhill. We waited another hour and 20 minutes more before she ever approached our table again to ask if we ever got our food. I told her no. She left and we still didn't get our food until another half hour. I told her we never ordered our drinks...which she ignored me and never asked if we wanted any drinks. It was nearing closing time...so she promptly brought me my check...I asked her did she lose our order or forget to put it in...was that why we were ignored and waited so long on our food (about 2 hrs and 20 min). She just said they had a lot of orders. When I asked to see my check, she had charged me for an appetizer that I never got. Oh, we did order it, but waited an hour on that only to find out they didn't have any more which the owner informed us of...the waitress never came back...she was too busy cleaning tables. This all took place while a couple of four was seated after us and the same waitress brought their food within 30 minutes but never addressed our table. Another couple was seated beside us..their food brought out within 10 minutes by the owner after they were seated..and really pampered. Never addressing our table. Guess if you're a regular there and friends with the owner, you get your food and service you pay for. Even after all this, the owner was addressed with what happened and all he could say was, I'm sorry. Not I'll give you 10% off your bill or nothing! If my friends had not been with us, I would have walked out and never paid!! And you don't get a receipt or anything....never again! Guess they wanted their money before they closed their doors.
