Country Breakfast

Stopped in for a quick bite, both grilled cheese sandwiches were crisp and buttery and the fries were hot and fresh. Service is always prompt and friendly. The interior could use stand some attention and updates.

My husband and I went in for a late breakfast. We got exactly what I was looking for, down home casual, clean environment, nice waitress and good food at great prices. Will definitely revisit.

My husband and I were in Gallatin Saturday looking into natural burial and decided to grab a bite around 12:30pm so I looked this place up and we gave it a shot. LEt me tell you it's the best $4.99 you'll ever spend! That includes two nice size pancakes two eggs and probably five crispy strips of bacon on my plate. Everything came to order, came hot, came quickly and the coffee was fresh. The only reason I give this four stars is that the atmosphere might not be up to everyone's taste but if you're Gallatin and your hankering for breakfast this is the place to go. BEST $20 breakfast you will ever get for $4.99!!

Great service, delicious food, and unbeatable prices! Side note, they only take cash or check

Come on $6.99 y'all chicken fried steak and eggs

Still my favorite little country spot just outside of Nashville. People are friendly, food is delicious and the prices really help on a budget. Definitely feels like a homegrown experience when I eat here!

Sunday morning, I am across the room from my table talking to a friend and my waitress sees me. She asks, "You want your usual?" She brings coffee and cups to my usual table and I say goodbye to my friend. How can your service get better than that? She is always smiling...always! Lately, I have been getting the veggie omelet with cheese. I can't resist it. The waitress remembers to mark it without onions. I use to get an egg over easy with hash browns and toast. The egg was always perfect. This place is for YOU! But then, I stopped in one weekday morning and found nearly the whole town there. Love this place!

Clearly a long established diner/meat-n-3 in Gallatin. I came here for breakfast. Seating is plentiful and eclectic. As soon as you settle in a waitress is there with the menu and gets your drink order. Upon her return we ordered basic breakfasts with eggs/meat/toast. All southern comfort food. We waited a little long for our food however the servers hustle and focus their attention on you when at your table. Breakfast is a busy time for Mables. My eggs were perfect but the country potatoes had been sitting too long (dry and hard). Apples were cooked til soft. almost no sugar or cinnamon added. I asked for my toast to be unbuttered and it wasn't. However, there were some service errors. The coffee cup was empty several times before a refill was offered and my request for honey was forgotten. I will probably come back but also recommend old Glory down the street. CASH ONLY

Location: Located in Gallatin, TN. Not hard to find off Google Maps Restaurant: Restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and was a nice place to be overall Food: The food was very delicious! I ended up getting the Country Fried Steak with sides and I didn't even need a knife to cut it because it was so tender. The staff was super friendly and refills came at all the right times. Issues: The only issue, but its understandable for smaller businesses, is that they do not accept Credit Card or Check Card. This is a cash/check only kind of place Would I recommend to a Friend?: Absolutely. I can't wait to go back again.

The space…read moreitself is a large converted house with multiple rooms to explore, each one a little different, but all with a cozy country Victorian charm that makes you want to settle into a corner and stay a while. We started with the strawberry lemonade, which was delicious, not overly sweet, with just enough fresh fruit pulp to make it unique and incredibly refreshing. Since we couldn't decide, we split two entrées: the Lovin' Onion croissant sandwich (savory) and the Chopped & Topped salad (a little on the sweeter side). The sandwich was soft and fresh, with the perfect salty tang from the pickles and a satisfying crunch from the fried onions. The salad was a bed mix of greens topped with chicken salad and chopped strawberries. Light and perfectly balanced. We cleaned our plates completely. The small slice of homemade carrot cake that came with the salad was such a lovely add after a lighter dish, and the chocolate-covered strawberries felt like the icing on the cake of an already wonderful meal. Loved every minute of it. The staff was incredibly kind, too. Already looking forward to coming back and enjoying the patio this spring. Definitely a new fave in Gallatin.

I really want to like this place... the food and the ambience are actually pretty good. I just…read morecan't get around what a complete dumpster fire the service is. It's is a complete joke for no other reason than they just don't seem to care. Not a staffing issue as I've seen in other reviews in my particular case. Came in yesterday (Saturday) morning alone for breakfast. There were two other tables of 2-3 people in the whole place when I arrived so place was maybe at 10% capacity. Both tables already had their food. There was no staff present when I walked in so I sat at the bar, the bartender was also not present. I sat there for 10 minutes or so before anyone came out. The waitress that did eventually come out but walked by me to check her tables and didn't pay me any attention and then disappeared into the back again. She went back and forth a few times continuing to check tables and not address me or send out the bartender. As I was about to leave she came over without a word, dropped a menu, didn't take a drink order and walked away. I've been here for 30 minutes or so now finally and have a menu and no other acknowledgement I exist. Finally the bartender comes out from the back and asks what he can get me. I ask him for a cup of coffee and before I can say anything else he disappears into the back. I was fully ready to order but figured he was grabbing it and coming right back. He was literally in the back ANOTHER 20 minutes and when he finally returned without the coffee he said he was making a fresh pot. He finally returns with the coffee (in a paper to go cup? This is a sit down morning brunch) and takes my order. I ordered waffles and waited. I've been here nearly an hour now in a practically empty restaurant and just now ordering. Another table comes in, gets sat, and eventually gets their food. I'm still waiting. The bartender pops back out for a second, sees me looking royally pissed at this point and I point at the new table eating and motion back at him like what the hell is going on? He walk over and says "I burned all your waffles and had to start over." Ok... what's it take to cook a waffle... 2-3 minutes? We're 90 minutes deep at this point. Finally someone else appears with my order. Again I will be fair, when I did finally get it the order was pretty good however at this point I had a 10-15 minutes before I had to be somewhere else. I wasn't expecting breakfast to take two hours. I ate about half of it and asked for the check. They dropped it without a word and I paid and left. Let me say I grew up working in restaurants and bars and I can be very understanding of a full restaurant that's understaffed and doing their best. THIS WAS NOT THAT. They literally just did not care. To say this place is grossly mismanaged would to be implied that someone is managing it at all, which doesn't seem to be the case. The food was good but not good enough to deal with this again anytime soon.
