I needed to move a grand piano from Westchester to Queens. I contacted this company and was given…read morean estimate which seemed reasonable. There is also an extra 3% surchage if you use a credit card. There were no long, twisting stairwells to navigate (which I believe increases the cost), so a relatively straight-forward move. The company was very responsive via email with answers to my questions (usually within a day) and we booked a date. It snowed the day before the move, but the movers showed up on time, were very professional, and the move went very smoothly. I did not notice any issues upon delivery. I have a Dampp Chaser system attached to the bottom of the piano to help regulate the humidity around the sound board. About 1 week after delivery, I noticed that one of the bars from the Dampp Chaser was on the floor hanging from its power cable. It turns out that two clamps that hold the bar in place were broken, and the bar eventually fell (I think from general vibrations from playing the piano). I suppose maybe this could have been from just general wear, but the timing with the move was just a little odd, and it was two clips, not just one. I contacted the company via email (using the same e-mail address that I had used previously) with photos of the problem and received absolutely no reponse. Eventually, it was a pretty simple, inexpensive repair, but I was a little disappointed in their lack of response (which is why I took off a star), and just wonder what would have happened if we were dealing with a bigger problem. I'm not going to pass judgement, I was otherwise happy with the move, but you can read about the interaction and decide for yourself how important this is if you chose to use this company. Update: So the company did reach to me, took responsibility for the damage, and offered to make it right. At this point, I did not take them up on their offer since it turned out to be a relative easy and inexpensive repair, but I just wanted to acknowledge their follow-up.

Truly a wonderful experience having Joan tune my new piano. Joan is clearly a master of her craft with tons of experience. She patiently answered my 10 billion questions about new piano ownership, and even took a lot of time to research specifics that were applicable to my piano, since it's a hybrid acoustic piano/digital "silent" piano. She also offered reasonable, practical, solutions and options to ensure optimal maintenance, for instance with maintaining ideal humidity levels in my home as well as potentially installing humidity controllers within the piano. I do not recommend Calvin's services as a piano tuner! His ear no longer has the ability to…read morerecognize between a natural note and a sharp. Calvin finished tuning my piano and I gave it a test run and immediately realized he had tuned two keys to the same note. When I pointed this out, not only did he gaslight me and say he didn't hear it, he also said the piano had to rest for 6 months before the tuning would settle properly. By that point the piano would need to be tuned again so that is bogus. After calling and texting, I finally convinced Calvin to come back and fix the note issue. He continued to act as though he didn't hear the wrong note and he didn't apologize for the great inconvenience. There were three of us here and he continued to disagree about not hearing any issues. I barely got the note rectified as he continued to gaslight me. On top of that he came across as rude, impatient, barely making eye contact and honestly unapologetic. He also kept trying to explain the tuning process to me and kept asking how I wanted the piano tuned as if there were options. I kept saying that the notes still sounded off, and his only solution was to continue asking me how I wanted it tuned. He also was grilling me on my knowledge of theory, as if that was needed to have my piano tuned by a so called professional. I've had this piano tuned dozens of times, and the tuner arrives, does his work, and afterwards I have beautiful sounding music. I came here to drop off my bass for repair. But I've had bass issues like needing to replace the strings already and having to fix the input jack on the bass. They were very nice here and had the bass done quickly.
