We walked the property for 2 hours. It was like taking your car to a reliable mechanic. He asked us about our home repair skills and instructed us how to fix some things and when to call in the professionals. He helped us prioritize what needed to be taken care of immediately, what could be put off (and what we would observe when it was time to make the repair) and what was nice, but not needed. Since we didn't need an official report, he allowed me to record the inspection so we could go back and get the details of anything we neglected to write down. Overall it was a positive experience. We found several things we need to take care of, but we are a "go" for the renovation!

Yes you are presented with "this is how things work" but he glossed over or did not cover many things that we had to fix post settlement. The house is heated by gas steam heat so he lit the boiler - then it was "ok that works". I had to suggest we leave the heat on to see that it actually delivered heat to each radiator - something that takes a while. In fact several radiators needed new valves. Like an upper porch railing that was not attached at the bottom and therefore just hanging by upper supports. Like a rear faucet that was not freeze proof and an uninsulated copper pipe under the porch that did not drain and required replacement by a plumber. And it was completely visable to the naked eye. Five missing locks on windows - steam a pipes in basement uninsulated - $2,900 to have insulated. He doesn't lack in confidence that's for sure. And it's misplaced. The agents involved felt that his process was cumbersome. Post settlement I received a "happy now you are a homeowner" email. I responded with a list of the things that he had missed and indicated that we were very disappointed. Guess what - never heard a word back. I was prompted to write this review 2 1/2 years later when I read today that his business is relocating to Frederick - our home town.

We highly recommend PJ's for a successful new roof installation and all that we had done. Rest assured that your money will be well spent. ALSO - Our house has been 100% better insulated. We used to keep our house at 70 to 72 for air conditioning, and that was still feeling some heat; but now at 76, the house is cool! IT'S AMAZING! We are so happy and amazed at the difference. The entire staff was attentive, responsive, easy to talk to, very respectable. It was great working with them all. P.S. We live in Gettysburg. They were highly recommended to us. I finally, actually, made the right choice, for a change! If you've had any of these concerns in the past, about what company to hire to do your job, you can just dismiss all these worries, if you just hire P.J. Roofing company. An incredible company with great, conscientious, serious, skilled employees in their work and work ethic. They recently replaced my old guttering, and did significant repair work on the siding at the back of my house. A representative of P.J. Roofing, Daniel, came out to my home and presented me with multiple options for new guttering, including color, size, and filtration systems to prevent my gutters from getting clogged, and subsequently having rain water, deluges of waterfalls in fact, spilling over my old guttering, that were previously encumbered with Gutter Helmet, which did not do what it was advertised to do. He also identified, understood my concerns, and recommended a solution to the problem, that I had recently been made aware of, with the old siding on a small portion at the back of my house. I am forever grateful for making the right choice in hiring P.J. Roofing. If I was going to have my roof redone, I would certainly hire them again in a nanosecond to do that work. I had their employees coming out after the guttering and siding work were completed, to ensure everything was done right, looked right, and to ensure that I was pleased with what they had done. A kudos and shout out to Donnie, and his son Nick, and Donnie's wife; to Miguel and Elvis; to Edward and Gilbert, all whom I cannot praise highly enough, for their tireless and conscientious work what they have done for me, in restoring and providing better protection for my home. P.J Roofing is the epitome of old time business excellence, and whoever is the owner of this company, had the wisdom and good fortune to have hired such excellent employees, all who exhibited such a high caliber of work ethic.
