Very cute vineyard that makes you feel like you're somewhere that isn't NJ! A $22 tasting covers the music cover which is otherwise $15 if you don't do a tasting. Really enjoyed the live music, walking around the grounds and the wine tastings. We would come back!

    Delicious Lobster Roll!

We came to Alba for the Lobster Bake on the 4th of July. It was our first time visiting Alba Vineyards. We ordered 2 flights: "1" Regular $22 and "1" Grand Reserve $32. The flights were served in plastic containers. "In my opinion, it's difficult to sample wine in plastic (anytime) along with it being almost 90 degrees". ( I'm sure the owner doesn't sample "their wine" in plastic). Plus, I feel for those prices, a souvenir vineyard glass should've been at least given like other NJ and other US wineries. We brought the flights outside to sit at a table. A steel drum band was performing some very lively music. We then went to order a lobster roll $28. A buzzer was given to us to signal when the roll was ready for pickup. It was one of the best lobster rolls we ever had. The lobster meat was so succulent. Next, we ordered a lobster pizza $31. I wanted to pay for it, but there seemed to be a problem with their credit card machine. Anyway, the woman told me to pay for it at pickup. 15-20 minutes later, the buzzer went off, my friend went over to pick up the pizza. After picking up the pizza, he was told to stand behind at least 7 people to pay. That was poorly organized. Highlights: -Great Lobster Roll and Lobster Pizza. -Great live band. Downside: -"Overpriced flights" served in plastic and wine below in quality. (There wasn't even one wine that we liked). -No vineyard souvenir glass given with flights. Other NJ Vineyards give out a souvenir glass with flights that are less in prices. -Issues with waiting to pay for food. We won't be coming back, even for their delicious lobster rolls.

Went for a private tour with a small group and the place was gorgeous. Everyone was very polite. They offered water to us while we were waiting and our guide (one of the family members/owners) seemed very passionate about the company. There's both inside and outside seating and you can see acres of fields. They had a live band playing inside even though no one was listening inside. At the tour, it was not super structured but led by one of the family member/owners. It's not a very long or extensive tour and you don't walk too much. He was very nice and knowledgeable and walked us around to some of the "staff-only" areas. Unfortunately, most of the machines were off/empty (they only run at certain times of the year). At the end, you get samples of 6 different wines and they teach you how you're suppose to appropriately taste the wines. You also get to keep an Alba Wine glass. I wish there was more to see and more to explore it seemed a little short. The wine prices vary from $16-80 and I don't think they're terribly gouging prices. I left with a $18 Reisling. Margherita Rose pizza - This was recommended to me by the staff. It costs $19 and was very good. I normally enjoy lots of toppings and meats on my pizzas but still thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a very scenic area and great place to relax, but I wish there were more areas to walk around and the tour to have more. Their prices aren't the cheapest, but if you attend wine tasting for $55 and get to 1) taste a variety 2) get to see off limit areas 3) keep a wine glass, I think it's a decent deal and it's nice to support a local winery. Tour: 4/5 Food & wine for price: 4/5 Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5

There is a cover charge for bookings of 6 or more. Not sure why, since you could easily split into two smaller groups and still go in together without the fee. As soon as you walk in, there is a sign saying no outside food and drink allowed. This includes water. Instead, they force you to buy their bottled water at a significant mark up. No tap water available. The wines themselves are OK. The Cabernet Sauvignon was a good fall flavor, the Riesling is a bit sweet but otherwise quite decent as well. There is a vendor serving food, the pizzas were expensive but delicious. All in all, not really worth the trip out here when there are plenty of better vineyards around.

We visited Alba Vineyard as a weekday activity. The drive in was scenic as we are days into peak fall foliage! We were greeted by one of the brothers who owns the grounds. He was kind, welcoming, and helpful as we asked about their flight tasting options! We spent a total of 90 minutes and plan to return on a weekend as they have an in house chef! I look forward to returning soon again.

I hate to leave a negative review while many businesses are struggling during COVID-19, but we had a pretty negative experience here. For an upper scale winery, we were disappointed to be hounded by a staff member to pay the $10 "cover" the moment we walked in. I completely understand needing to charge a minimum fee to stay afloat, but the way management went about this made it feel more like we were paying amusement park admission than paying the winery entree fee. When we noticed the head chef was not wearing a mask, I approached this same staff member to inquire if the chef is required to wear a mask. This individual told me the chef wears a mask at all times; when I alerted him that the chef was in fact not wearing a mask, this individual said "oh okay" and did nothing to remedy the issue and did not show any concern. The pricing here is incredibly predatory, with flights of 3-4 pours ranging from $18-32. Additionally, two small plastic glasses of wine came to $24 , and all food items were just shy of $20. A cover charge of $10 is also collected. Wine list prices are purposefully hidden, until after payment is collected. The property is absolutely beautiful, the live jazz music was fun, and all of the pours in the red flight were great, especially the Syrah, but at these prices and the blatant neglect for health guidelines, I would not come back here.

We stopped at this winery on the border of New Jersey leading into Pennsylvania. We are trying something new and making sure we stop and try a minimum of one winery in every state that we drive through. I found this one online and said let's stop here. I missed something that they require you to be 21 years of age to enter. I asked if they can accommodate my 18 year old son. They said since it's outside and only one couple outside is fine. She said as long as he doesn't climb on the rocks. I said that's 100% not going to happen. She said last week they had to yell at 18 year olds for doing that exact thing. The family then came in and the woman introduced us what was available. We ended up doing two flights. Let me tell you the flights are expensive. $22 for a normal flight, and $36 for the elite one with two reds and two whites, but the estate wines. $58 for sampling wine in plastic cups, Thank god because I would have dropped the glass stuff. I asked her (nice lady) if all of the wine originates from the vineyards. She said yes, except for the Cab Franc comes from the Columbia Valley in Washington State area. We got a charcuterie board to go along with the wine for $20. The views in the back are very nice to enjoy a glass of wine. We sampled our wines. I don't like Chardonnay Oak, but theirs was sensational. Nice work. We purchased a couple bottles to go (Riesling and a blend that I didn't try) figured why not, sometimes the blends are the best. Overall this was a great experience for a winery that is large. This new building is 4 years old. Previously they were below in the barn area. This is so much better.

    Classic Tasting

I have visited Alba Vineyard annually for the last few years for everything from a charity dinner among the grapes to a simple wine tasting. I have seen the winery transform from a rustic tasting room to an elegant hillside farmhouse with high-end Italian fare and live music to pair with your sips. During my recent visit, we sat outside on the patio, listening to a talented guitarist and running through their two tastings. First, their $22 per person Classic Tasting included the GTR Field White, Chardonnay, Old Mill Red, and Syrah. Their GTR was essentially a white blend of Gewurztraminer, Traminette, and Riesling, which we found sweet and floral. The Chardonnay was very buttery and thankfully not too oaky. The Old Mill Red was their red table wine that was one of my favorites yet again this year, while the Syrah was more robust, but also delightful. Since we liked all of the Classic tastes, we decided to splurge on the $32 per person Reserve Tasting, which included the Grand Reserve Riesling, Grand Reserve Chardonnay, Estate Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Franc. The Riesling was not as sweet as I typically prefer, and the Chardonnay was not as complex as the version included in the Classic Tasting. The Pinot Noir was fruity, but thin, while the Cabernet Franc was more full-bodied, yet dry. Overall, we found the Classic Tasting far superior and much more affordable. I also balanced my glasses with a cup of the best Tomato Soup I had ever had! It was topped with goat cheese curds, herbs, and croutons. It possessed the perfect consistency and richness. Lastly, the atmosphere was breathtaking! The patio offered views of the mountains in the distance and the vines in the forefront. Plus, we were able to stroll through the grounds with a wine glass in-hand, which, at sunset, provided an ideal photo opportunity. Alba Vineyard is definitely one of the top in New Jersey, offering fine wine, delicious food, and a delightful atmosphere.

Nice atmosphere, good pizza and other items to snake on is available. Good place to relax and listen to music. However, very overpriced tasting of 4 (2.5 oz pours) for $28 or $15 cover to sit on patio.

Minimal food available for purchase, but you can do tastings, flights, wine by the glass or bottles and are allowed to bring outside food and decorations (just not outside alcohol). Price point is reasonable, and we enjoyed a bottle of Cayuga white while overlooking the vines and fields. Peaceful venue, not fancy and kid friendly (which was a plus for us) and we appreciated being allowed to relax and enjoy the fresh air and wine! That was no problem for us, since we were hungry and had brought a pizza with us. We figured we would sit outside, especially since it was a beautiful fall day, and enjoy our pizza with a glass, or plastic cup, of their Cabernet. Before heading out, the gentleman who greeted us invited us to go ahead and check in, so we did. Upon checking in we paid the $20 for each tasting and another $16 for two cups of Cabernet, then went outside to enjoy our pizza, wine and the view. About 15 minutes had passed and the gentleman came out to let us know it would be another few minutes while the group who had been there when we arrived wrapped up. He was kind enough to offer us a tipping off of the wine and some bits of dark chocolate. We waited another 10 minutes or so and decided to go inside to see if we could begin our tasting. We were told it would be another five minutes or so. At that point we were getting tired of waiting, the gentleman was becoming testy (we don't think at us, but more at the guy leading the tasting to the group there before us), and we were not impressed at the Cabernet we had had already, so we decided to leave. We considered trying to get a refund, but the greeter was nowhere in sight and the tour guide had evidently stepped into a break room to have a snack. So much for our guided tasting. We forfeited the $40 and left. We were looking g forward to this experience, but were very disappointed.
