Like the others who have reviewed, at first, Wigi seems very professional with a well-organized company. The process of planning our honeymoon went relatively smoothly, and he even contacted us about an emergency in Alaska while we were there to see if we needed anything. Very nice of him. HOWEVER. For a couple days during the trip my wife was very sick, causing us to miss a zip line trip we had scheduled. Wigi promised that we could get a refund for the missed trip (close to $300) so I trusted him and we went on to have a great rest of our trip. Fast forward to almost a year and a half later, numerous attempts to reach him via phone, and plenty of emails with no response, we are still out $300. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

The owner of AlaskaVacationStore - Wigi Tozzi - lacks courtesy, etiquette, customer service and professionalism. He has no idea what 'customer satisfaction' means. I am really surprised the way this company operates and how they still manage to be in business?? Experience Details: Made first enquiry call to Wigi and thought of him to be trustworthy tour operator. He sent impressive tour details and quoted a very high price. Even then, I fell for the plan and trusted him - BIG MISTAKE. As soon as I took the bait and made the commitment, his communication style changed from excellent to I-do-not-care attitude towards me. All communications were always one sided...initiated by me... never once did I get a call back from Wigi... Usually the vendor calls customer for payment, but in this case, surprisingly, I had to call him 10 times so that he can accept my payment and finalize the bookings. Due to the high price quoted by Wigi, I had to cut bear watching tour from my itinerary to save myself some money, at the end of the planning Wigi increased the quoted price anyways siting hotel unavailability and other reasons. He completed bookings very late in June even when I said YES in March. His strategy was to make me wait for 2 months, so that at the last moment he can increase price and I'll have no option but to say yes to whatever price and hotel changes he offers me. Terrible and shameless way to make money out of your clients! This has been by far the worst experience for me. AlaskaVacationStore works purely on commission basis and don't care what their customers wants. Wigi Tozzi is by far the worst tour operator I have ever done business with. He lacks courtesy, formal communication skills, ethics, and flexibility. He made me pick high priced hotels as part of the package and later charged the extra price to me. In our trip, we could not take the Talkeetna Air Taxi due to bad weather and I asked Wigi for refund. After 2 months of numerous frustration filled phone calls and emails, he finally refunded the amount. I work in service industry myself and after coming back from my Alaska vacation, at least 8-10 of my American co-workers, managers and friends made serious enquiries about AlasaVacationStore and I honestly told them - NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH WIGI. 4 months of terrible customer service experience!! read more

We just returned from our Alaskan vacation and it was fantastic. Wigi was spot on with the arrangements. All the lodging accommodations were top notch and the tour companies were excellent. We were a party of 6, travelled to 6 cities and participated in several tours including kayaking, white water rafting, bear viewing, glacier hiking, fishing. We were not able to do the flightseeing tour around Mt. McKinley due to weather. I cannot comment yet on any issues with receiving our credit as we just returned. I will update the post if we experience any customer service issues with that. Our experience with Wigi was good. He is very knowledgeable and works with reputable companies. He was interactive throughout the process to ensure our trip was successful. His style is a bit more relaxed than some may be comfortable with, but he did respond to all inquiries within a reasonable amount of time. We are already looking forward to another trip to Alaska, and I will definitely use Wigi and the Alaska Vacation Store again. read more

Alaska Vacation Store is owned and operated by Wigi Tozzi. He is apparently a one man show. His website and advertising is very impressive and gives the impression his Travel Agency is larger and better than others. Don't be fooled. At first contact he seems to be very professional and responsive to your needs. As soon as he gets you signed and collects your deposit, the tables turn. He doesn't return emails or calls. The only way to actually talk to him is if you are lucky enough to catch him on his personal cell phone. First response is, "sorry I didn't get back to you, I (fill in any excuse),but what is it you wanted?" Having given up over three thousand dollars deposit, it was too late to change, so I decided to stick with the vacation package he made up for us (mistake #2). After our vacation was booked and ready to go, I had to remind him to get us our final itinerary. We finally got it and were ready to go. Throughout the trip, almost every hotel and B & B we arrived at had not been paid, even though he had our money for several weeks before the trip. We had to wait while they called him and got his VISA card to charge our rooms that we had already paid him for. During the trip, some lodging and tours had to be cancelled due to weather. We contacted him and he was able to switch things around and promised there would be no charges for the missed tours and lodging. This was a lie. After the vacation, several attempts were made to contact him. He wouldn't return emails or phone calls. It is most likely that he hadn't paid the tour or lodging vendors at all and planned to pocket our money. We were forced to contact the Alaska Attorney General and file a complaint to try and get our money returned. In summary, Alaska Vacation Store, aka Wigi Tozzi is not a reputable Travel Agent. He is a lair and is dishonest. Don't make the same mistake. If he is still in business, avoid him like the flu. read more

I was pretty sorry to read the other review as that was not my experience. We went with Wigi for booking our honeymoon in Alaska and had a really great experience. Wigi always got back to us when we had questions. We were skeptical about trusting this company as there were no reviews when we were looking to book in July so we called some of the companies listed in the itinerary Wigi provided and they all gave him wonderful reviews and said they loved working with him. During our stay one of the resorts we were supposed to go to had to close due to a family emergency, so Wigi called us right away to go over some alternative options and worked to find us another place to stay. The place he found for us wasn't actually doing B&B for the year anymore but because of his relationship with the owner he was able to talk her into opening up a room for us and making breakfast for our stay. I don't think that Wigi was overpriced as the prices we payed for the places we went were cheaper then if we had worked with the various companies directly. On top of that, Wigi's knowledge of the Alaska area proved to be invaluable as he put things on our itinerary that we would never of known about otherwise. read more
