First visit here because of high reviews. I went because my upper back was tight, and right hip stiff from sitting all day. Told him what my two issues were. I had specifically said my neck felt fine. Alan said he would give me a "tuneup". Started getting my head jerked around and then pulled. He leaned very heavily on my upper back, but I didn't feel anything release. He worked rest of my back with little result. By the time I got into my car to drive home, I felt pain in my neck and back shoulder blades. I used ice packs when I got home. I couldn't look down without pain in my neck for the next three days. I had pain in my neck for over a week. I finally went to another chiropractor to fix the pain in my neck that I didn't have before I was given the "tuneup". read more

After a bad experience with another chiropractor, I called Dr. Tuthill. The office manager Betty, answered all of my questions and confirmed my insurance coverage. She was very knowledgeable and helpful over the phone. I also appreciate how accommodating she has been and how I've been able to schedule appointments and get treated quickly, even on the same day. One of the reasons why I love coming here is because Betty is such a caring and friendly person who truly cares about your well being. When I come here, I'm treated like I am family; I never say that about any businesses! Last time I was here, I was having a really bad day. Betty noticed that I was out of sorts and she took the time to talk to me and listen to my troubles. She helped me sort through some problems that didn't even relate directly relate to my back pain. I am astonished by the care and genuine concern she and Dr. Tuthill have for their patients. It's a shame that you rarely see that in health care providers anymore. I've been receiving treatment here for several months because I have a chronic injury from a car accident. Every time I walk out of the office, I feel a great sense of relief. I've been going to Alan for about 3 years, of course it's respectful to make an appointment but he will always fit you in quickly on a walk-in. He takes you to a message chair to loosen up for 5 Minutes than does an awesome adjustment. My typical visit is less than 10 minutes for all and barely ever a wait. He's not one of those Chiropractors that's like a conveyor belt with lines of patient waiting, he's a family man, from Santee and will chat with you if you want to hangout and get to know him. I was referred by my doctor to Dr. Tuthill for a problem I was having with my shoulder area. My problem started with repetitive movement at work, carrying a heavy bullhorn for years on this shoulder and then opening a solid steel door from an equipment shed at work. At one point I couldn't lift my arm father than my shoulder. It was painful. I stopped doing these things at work and it got somewhat better but still my shoulder didn't work to capacity. Spent lots of $$ on massages thinking it would help. After just 2 visits my shoulder was back to normal. Dr Tuthill is very easy to talk to, very relaxed person, very personable and professional.
