I have been going here since 2003, when I was 13 and had horrible sciatic pain and numerous lower lumbars out of place. That was when Dr. Holmes ran the place. I was so sad when he left in 2015! However, Dr. Barker really kept Dr. Holmes' momentum going, and took over the practice when Dr. Holmes left. I was wary at first -- I'd been seeing Dr. Holmes for 12 years at that point -- but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like Dr. Barker, and his wonderful mom Kathy, who runs the front. Kathy is such a sweetheart and always figures out a way to squeeze me in for an appointment if I need an emergency adjustment. She treats me like family. Dr. Barker is professional, funny, and most importantly, good at what he does! Every time I leave his office, I feel like a brand new person! I have been seeing Dr. Barker since he took over this location in 2015. He and the staff are very professional. The facility is very clean, calming, and there is plenty of parking. Dr. Barker listens to my description of the pain/discomfort I am feeling and manages to nail his treatment every... single... time. I normally go in every 2 weeks for a tune-up, but have never had a problem getting in when I do something wrong to my back. If I could give more stars, I would. I have a severe sciatica with excruciating pain in my lower back that shoots down my leg. Doctors have me on serious meds daily that really make me loopy. I started seeing Dr. Barker and within a month, I was walking straighter without a limp! After a few months, the shooting pain down my legs is gone. I am feeling better AND I am off the pain meds. AT 35 years old my back went out for the first time. Its was debilitating, no pain meds would touch it, I spent 2 days in what felt like active labor. There was no position sitting, standing or laying down that gave me relief. It hurt to breathe. I was to scared to go to my previous chiropractor because his adjustments were very aggressive and I felt like they were not tailored to my issues. I knee I couldnt crawl on to a table and be twisted back into alignment. So when I felt like I could finally manage to lay down I called Dr. Barker. I found him on Yelp by searching for a gentle chiropractor with a drop table within 10 min from my home. To my luck they were able to get me in that same morning. I honestly went in with no expectations because of the amount of pain I was in I didnt think I could tolerate much. I walked into an inviting waiting room area and was quickly welcomed by the woman at the front desk who had helped me book my appt. I later found out this was the Doctors mom. I checked in and found myself waiting next to a sweet elderly woman who reassured me that I had chosen the best chiropractor. This eased my worries about another aggressive adjustment. Moments later Dr. Barker introduced himself, gave me a quick tour and got to accessing my condition. He was so kind, non judgemental and really took his time to figure out my back issues. He gently realigned each vertabrae of my spine, like ticking a fuse box back in line. He warned me I would still be sore for a week or so, and the rest of the day might be worse than when I walked in. But the next morning I could actually sit and lay down without pain. He saw me 2 days later for a second adjustment and again took his time to listen to my progress, reassess me and answer any questions I'd had. After a week I was back to my normal self. I called this place because I read some amazing reviews. I talked to Kathy, who is the chiropractors mother. What an awesome lady. Her demeanor was one of which you would hope to encounter when you seek care in any establishment. Though she didn't accept our insurance, medical sometimes makes it difficult, and we completely understand. We are very blessed to have medi cal benefits, and I wouldn't know what to do without the help for my husband who has so many issues! Just to not bash medi cal because we appreciate the medical help! But from a providers point of view it must be frustrating. So Kathy apologized and said that they take cash. Only $99. For the initial visit! That's crazy amazing right!!?? She had such a great personality and inviting presence on the phone I almost just wanted to pay the money! Instead she did me the favor of going a step further and giving me the name of her sons (the chiropractor) chiropractor. Yes you read it right. Her son is the chiropractor and his chiropractor is who we will go see. Lol if this guy is a chiropractors chiropractor you know he must be good. AND HE ACCEPTS MEDI CAL! Woo hoo we are going to try this guy out this Saturday but if anything else, we will come back and pay cash here because it seems like it's the kind of family owned business that I would love to support. I've been going Fletcher Hills Chiropractic since the early 90's. Having chronic back/sciatic pain I do get relief. If I would behave myself and not lift things that are too heavy for me, I would not be seeing Dr.Barker very much. There are times where I behave myself and don't have to go in for sometimes a year, although I know monthly adjustments is something I should do to keep pain free. Whenever I call to get in asap, I get taken immediately. I might sometimes have to wait 10 or 15 minutes but that is ok..it gives me a chance to chat with the wonderful staff working behind the counter. Some people think Chiropractors are quacks...not me. I've been to other chiropractors for my chronic back pain. They didn't do much but that shock therapy which made me worse. When I came to Dr. Dennis Barker, I could hardly walk, sit, stand, bend, sleep. Hell, I could barely drink or eat. This was the worse sciatic nerve pain I had radiating down my leg I've experienced in my life. I was in excruciating pain 22 hours of the day. It didn't stop. I was desperate for pain relief. That's when I found Dr. Barker. I was with Dr. Dennis for 1.5 months consistently and still see him. The first day I went home and had 4 hours with no pain. He gave me the relief I was dying for. I've been going here since the Floyd's ran it over 10 years ago, and Dr. Dennis has done a great job picking up where they left off, and continuing the legacy started by his father. They are a lot busier than they used to be, but always find time to get me in when something is acting up, and I need to feel good now. Dr. Dennis has taken on everything from my seven year olds feet turning in when she was younger, to my older daughters clicking jaw, to my wife's neck that can bunch up like a boulder, to my on-again, off-again shoulder. He really values his business, customers, and continues to expand on his knowledge and extend his skills. And the guy can be pretty funny at times.
