We recently needed a couple of large branches removed from a tall mature tree in our front yard of…read moreour Los Gatos home. Our contractor noticed the branches and alerted me. I called around and got four quotes from different tree companies. Kelly, the owner, came out himself to inspect our tree and to quote our project. He spent quite a bit of time answering our questions. I was impressed by both his knowledge and price, which was all done without any pressure. The Tree Team crew arrived the next day and did an outstanding job. They were friendly, clean, and efficient from start to finish. They cut and removed the branches exactly as we requested and were very careful of our surrounding landscaping. After the work was completed, they chipped all of the cut branches and hauled away all of the debris. They used a blower and swept clean our walkway, driveway, and yard, leaving my front yard spotless. Besides the missing branches, you would have never known they were there. The quality of work and value for the price we paid were outstanding. I highly recommend The Tree Team to anyone looking for honest, professional tree service. They are definitely a five-star company!

Their back end administrative support is also efficient and effective. They also trimmed a Very Large Evergreen next door and did an excellent job. I was asking Kelly what kind of tree I should replace my old big tree that he removed. He assessed my landscape, and came up with a quick, effective, and accurate recommendation. In contrast, when I talked to nurseries, they had trouble understanding the requirements and were all over the map. The recommendation from City of Mountain View was worse than useless. The tree the City of Mountain View recommended: 1) None of the nurseries carried it 2) None of the local nurseries even know what it is. 3) You can't special order it. City of Mountain View were idiots.

When you need a professional, hire the pros. John from Skylake came out promptly, walked the…read moreproperty, and provided a clear estimate. We have an African Sumac in front and a Narrow Leaf Ash in the backyard, both overdue for thinning and shaping. The ash also needed a crown reduction. The crew arrived exactly on time and got set up fast. The African Sumac is a messy, fast growing tree. It gives us valuable summer shade, so I wanted to keep it rather than remove it, but it is high maintenance. It shoots new growth everywhere, drops leaves all season, and its roots threaten the walkway and the lawn. It had also been neglected and pruned poorly by our gardener, which made things worse. The Skylake team removed the unwanted growth, balanced the limbs, and cleaned out the cluttered, crossing branches. The tree finally looks right again. I prefer to support local businesses in Gilroy, and Skylake is part of our community. John has an honest, friendly, straightforward manner, and he quickly earned my trust. Licensed, bonded, certified, and insured, and just genuinely nice people who communicate well. They went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the results, and I truly appreciate that. I will absolutely hire them again in a few years when the trees need their next round of care.

I had Walter come in 7 months later after the rain collapsed a few trees. Walter goes through the property with his iPhone and takes videos. He appears to know about rules and what to do with trees. After the video tapping he gave me a quote and we agreed to a price. He gave the videos. Then we waited. A long time but that was probably because he is super busy with the storms. Finally my day showed up and his crew came in. They work pretty quickly. My job was big and they are going fast. They were done in 2 days. I went though Walters videos and there were things his team did not do. So when Walter asked about getting a check we did a walk through and he immediately realized that his team had not followed the videos. He had them back with a day to finish Now something got broke on the last day, as is expected on big jobs. A small light and Walter when I told him quickly fixed it. I feel he is a guy you can trust and will do the right thing both in terms of service and post service. I would recommend him.
