As a big fan of Alamo Drafthouse, it's such a pleasure getting to have a location right here in El Paso. Although this location has been stuck in the longest construction era, once you make it up to the hill you're in the parking lot of the theater. This drafthouse is super nice compared to other locations i've been to in other cities as they have a full blown bar with ample restaurant-style seating. You can grab a drink, enjoy their draft beer lineup, or have a bite before you eventually head into the theater to watch your movie. It's easy to get some perks signed up for their membership club and you can purchase your tickets ahead of time or at the ticket counter. Some of my fave food items are their pretzels with beer queso and their pizzas. It's always fun to see what fun and unique menu item names they come up with! All in all, a great movie theater experience. read more

Food has always been good no matter what my friend and I have tried - sandwiches, burgers, chicken tenders are all solid. Popcorn flavors can be hit or miss - the spicy ranch was waaaaaay too salty, the Parmesan truffle has turned into our go to because it's always good. Popcorn may seem expensive but it's unlimited so well worth it. Food prices aren't bad for a movie theater and it's fun when a hit movie comes out and they've got special food items to complement like they did for Superman. I came here for the very first time last month when my co-worker invited me and some of other co-workers to Tuesday Trivia Night :D ! Out of the 2 Alamo Drafthouse cinema locations in El Paso, only the west side location offers Trivia Night every Tuesday. We hope that this will eventually change, and that this will be offered at the east side location in the future so we don't always have to drive to the west side :) ! My co-worker who organized this started organizing these get-togethers so we could all really bond and have some fun outside work :D ! Even though we didn't really know the answers to a lot of the questions, we still had such a funtastic and fantabulous time :D !! It's a great way to socialize, bond with friends and family, and meet new people :) ! Everyone is really friendly and engaging :D ! You can order drinks, actual meal food, and finger food at great prices :) ! It's important to get there early, ideally by 6:30 pm, on a Tuesday for trivia night so you can snag a table for you and your group. Each trivia team can only have a max of 6 people each. The winners get free movie tickets to the Alamo Drafthouse :D !! Went for a fundraising event. We decided to open a bar tab (with cash.... I know I know that was a stupid move) and they closed down my tab, since I left plenty of money, and kept the change without even asking if I'd like another drink BEFORE said tab was closed. Regardless I assume the big "tip" was appreciated. Honestly, I would have probably been fine with the large tip if I had been ASKED. Look we ALL have to work harder for the dollar now days. Just ask instead of assuming. You'll be surprised how many people like ME tip big when treated appropriately. You don't have to be sly and "hope" I had enough and you assume I didn't mind you "keeping the change". A good movie experience. There are well placed tables so that you can enjoy dinner, snacks, or drinks during the movie. We shared the breakfast tacos, mimosa glass, and white wine glass. It was a bit pricey and the food was just okay. The mimosa did not necessarily taste like champagne and it did not necessarily taste like orange juice - honestly it seemed a bit watered down. The wine was good. The breakfast tacos came with 3 and were stuffed with a medley of flavors most of which complemented one another well. I did add some salsa which was provided with the plate. The salsa was good, not too spicy, but not too bland. I will try other dishes on a revisit. As my first impression I would say the food is moderate. The cinema / dining experience is nice. I enjoyed the comfy seats. I visited with a friend who needed handicap accessibility and honestly this cinema was the most accommodating EVER! We showed up late to the movie but the host welcomed us in and quickly allowed us to be seated with a rollaway chair that allowed the wheelchair to slide right in next to my cinema seat. This may seem odd, but as there does not seem to be security at the door I found the set up a little strange to just walk into a movie. Perhaps the security has a stronger behind the scenes presence. In the times we live I do want to feel safe when sitting in a large dark room for over an hour. I will revisit 3.26.22 Update My eating companions and I had: burger, chicken sandwich, pesto pizza, bottomless popcorn, chips and queso, fried pickles, and Boozy Brandy Alexander Milkshake. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Montecillo on the west side of El Paso, TX, seems to be a hidden location, and if it weren't because of the GPS, I would likely pass it three times before making it to the theater. Other than that, the place rocks. I love their website, food choices, seats, staff, decor, prices, and everything! I enjoy the overall concept of the franchise, and this location rocks it. The website is straightforward to navigate, clearly explains the exact seat location you are purchasing, and it is easy to specify how many children and adults. Once you arrive, their seats are very comfortable, and if this is your first time there, the staff is always willing to explain how to order. Their prices are affordable, which makes it much more welcoming to come back. Their food is delicious, especially their parmesan popcorn. I have noticed they usually start the movie 30 minutes after the start time, but I enjoy it because you can sit and get comfortable with the menu and place your order of food and drinks ahead of time. We decided to give this place a try for our Sunday night date night. We bought our two tickets online, chose our seats, and when we paid, we were surprised to see that each ticket was a little less then $11. We arrived about 30 minutes before the movie started (we watched venom) and we went straight to our assigned theater and seats. Our seats were the last two in the upper row. The theater was not at all packed, but of course, we had people sitting in the seats right next to ours. The seats are all super close to each other, so it was annoyingly awkward trying to not elbow the guy right next to me. The seats are also weirdly uncomfortable. I found myself struggling throughout the whole movie to get myself situated. It was not good... We looked over the menu and had more then enough time, since we arrived early. It was our first time in, so we were a little confused as to how this whole ordering thing worked. I had a few questions and so I needed an employee to come on over. I looked for a call button and nothing. I then looked over the menu for any type of ordering instructions but nope. Heck I even tried to flag down an employee, but they were all busy running around tending other people. The lights suddenly dimmed away and we were stuck there in the dark still not knowing what to do. We then saw paper on the table and creepily watched what the people right next to us did. They wrote down their orders, folded it, and left it there for an employee to grab. Ding ding ding! We write down our orders and the employee surprisingly made it to our table right away. We assumed he whispered to us that he would be right back. At this time, the movie was already playing and we could not hear a word he said. We ordered: One Dr Pepper with unlimited refills One order of hot chicken wings One order of the loaded fries One blue Hawaiian cocktail One order of three chocolate chip cookies Our food came out one by one. We got our drinks first and then our cookies came. Then we got the wings and lastly we got our order of loaded fries. Our total was about $44. Trying to eat chicken wings with some ranch in the dark should be considered a challenge. It was so hard to eat them. The wings were too dry for me, so I only ate two. The loaded fries on the other hand were delicious. The cookies were freshly baked when we got them, so they were hot and soft. Yummy! The movie was great and by the time we finished eating the movie was close to being done. I wouldn't necessarily make this movie theater my "go to movie theater," but definitely one that we will visit for an occasional date night. Tickets aren't expensive but the food is where they get you. There is plenty of parking out in the back and the bathroom was clean. Pros: the loaded fries were good, employees are attentive, and the ticket prices are reasonable. I finally made it. Alamo has been on my bucket list for a month time. More specifically the original one in Austin when I had heard about years ago. Well its a popular business model apparently as there is one in El Paso now. I didn't want to go to a full theater but when I pre-bought my ticket on line I could see no one else had even bought a ticket yet. When I got there it ended up just me and 4 people in the far back. The server told me the rules for ordering drinks and food(write on the card and stand it up in front of ya). My order came out within minutes, excellent service. I was early so I got to soak up the pre-movie entertainment. It was full of 80s movie clips, and foreign super hero film clips. It was really cool. Then before the movie started the infamous preview stating no phones, no texting no taking. And if noted, kicked out, no refund. That would probably irritate some kids but I was happy to know there would be no bright screen lights during the movie. It was a great experience. I wish they had one Florida. read more

The best part of Alamo Drafthouse for me is the convenience. It is so close to where I live! I've been here a couple times now, either for movies or for trivia. The bar in the lobby hosts a very competitive trivia night! There are other pub quizzes in town but this one was easily the most challenging. The last film I saw here was Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. I'm thrilled that they play limited release anime films! I remember thoroughly enjoying it with a cold IPA and their seasoned popcorn. read more

Welp. I finally found out why this page has so few food pics. Because by the time you get your food, it's too bloody dark and you can't very well start snapping flash photos amidst the movie. They'll give you the ol' heave-ho if you attempt such shenanigans. Alright then. Obligatory disclaimer aside. Onto the review.. Right from the start, it becomes apparent what the main appeal is of this theatre: the full feature menu and bar. The question on everyone's mind is...how well executed is it? Well.. I gotta be honest. I wasn't expecting very much, menu wise. Imagine my shock and bewilderment when I ordered my Philly cheesesteak only to discover it rivaled the likes of Charly's and possibly even Jersey Mike's. "What IS this sorcery?!", I thought to myself. Though the latter is still far superior and I'll tell ya why.. The friggin' thing kept falling apart in my hands. Couldn't even lift the f**ker off the plate! I kid you not, this sandwich was messier than Taco Tuesday! I was literally eating bits of fallen cheesesteak with my bare fingers. Should have requested a fork and I have no doubt the servers would have brought it to me because.. The service is nothing like I've ever witnessed in a movie theatre. I swear these guys must have night vision cameras hovering above every seat in the house. Apparently all you have to do to place an order is write it down on a piece of paper they provide each table, stick the thing vertically in the holder thingy, and they come a runnin'! It's seriously the most impressive thing I've ever seen inside a house of cinema. Now, a minor complaint I have is the first time around, I'm pretty sure they straight up forgot I ordered a Cabernet. Either that, or they were out back fermenting the grapes themselves, in which case....I'd have been waiting for my wine till next Christmas. But thankfully after metaphorically whacking the server guy on the head with my inquiry of, "are they EVER bringing my wine or...?", it still manged to arrive before the second coming. One glaringly annoying thing about this theatre is the fact that you have to pretty much have the supervision of Daredevil to see in here. The lighting is dimmer than that of Anson 11. I'm not joking. There's this little light beneath the table which you can use to place additional orders during the movie, yeah. But it doesn't do much for those who are already visually challenged under "normal" circumstances. I realize they don't wanna detract from viewing the movie. But I feel like there's gotta be a better way to execute this. I dunno. The seats are alright, but no where near as versatile or accommodating as the likes of Cinema 20 XD. They don't recline, there's no dedicated foot rest, and I'm fairly certain I damn near ripped my shoulder out of socket trying to pull down the armrest. Deciding I wanted to keep my left arm after all, I pretty much gave up after only two tugs. I was concerned about parking as I was driving up the entrance way. But it's surprisingly big. Though it's a bit strange you have to park BEHIND where the entrance is. Ah well. In the end, it's totally worth the 30 minute drive from my side of town. I hope to return one day. Perhaps I'll finally get to try the popcorn. It certainly smelled buttery as f*ck! Alamo Drafthouse gets 4 sloppy cheesesteaks out of 5. read more

My wife and I attended the Thurs, 8/17 screening of Landscape and Invisible Hand, 7:30pm at Montecillo. 20 minutes into the actual movie already playing, another party walks in and was disruptive taking their seats, looking at the menus (using their phone flashlights), and talking. Alamo has a very clear policy, "In order to ensure the highest quality experience for all guests, you may not enter a movie after it has started." But nobody prevented them from coming in 20 minutes after the movie started and nobody had them leave. I am puzzled by this. Alamo has this policy, but apparently it is not enforced. This caused us to be disrupted while watching the movie. (Separately, these people had other points during the movie that they were talking and/or had phone flashlights on, and had the film been longer, we would have notified our server). But it concerns me that Alamo makes a big deal about their policies, but does not enforce them. We come to Alamo for a disruption-free movie experience, and we did not have that yesterday because Alamo did not enforce its policy about not being able it enter a movie after it started. I write this in the hopes that either your theaters will strictly enforce this policy, or remove the policy. Alamo financially benefits from these policies (because people like us bring our business there for a disruption-free experience), so it needs to actually enforce them. I contacted them directly (through facebook message which they acknowledged receipt of), and told them I would not take this elsewhere as long as they resolved this with me. But they never even gave me the courtesy of a response. read more

This is a very sexy trendy movie theater. Pro tip: They have a film club featuring unusual, cult, foreign or classic screenings that seems to be mainly on Wednesday. And also special events or other special screenings on other days of the week (check their calendar.) Pros: - Sexy decor - very date night friendly - Great service - both at the bar and in-seat - Bar - better top shelf selection than I expected - Food - while a lot of the menu trends calorie-heavy, I liked everything I had except my alcohol milkshake (maybe just not a smart order for me - I don't usually like sweet drinks or milk and alcohol together.) Overall, not bad but not as good as Flix. I stopped in on my day off to see the Lodge. I read the reviews about slow service and not so great food, but I always try to keep an open mind. Fortunately for me, I went at 10am on a Tuesday and was literally the only person in the theatre. So for me the service was excellent. The waiter immediately took my order and came back multiple times to check on me. I had the Cobb Salad with Chicken and it was very good. I had no problems and enjoyed my visit. I have to say, though, I am spoiled by Flix. The food there was much better and the seats were more comfortable. The seats at Alamo don't even recline. Also, before the main trailers, they played trailers for movies from the 50s and from other countries. I thought that was a little weird but also kinda cool. read more

The atmosphere is very cute and romantic if you are on a date. HOWEVER the manager experience was not a good one. He was super rude and seemed a bit racist if you are non Latino. My husband and I went to see Ant-Man and sat on the first row by the entrance. Another couple next to us (latín couple) was talking to us about the movie and the manager walks up to us and says "can you guys please keep it down" usually I would understand if we are being interruptive however it was after we just placed our drink order and we were talking about getting a pitcher of beer like the couple next to us. The way the manager approached us seemed a bit off I stepped out to address how he made us feel singling us out in a rude way. The couple next to us was like that was rude. I talked to the manager and his response was well that's the movies policy if I don't like it we can leave. I was very shocked because I was nothing but respectful to him and honestly wanted to just leave but I knew my husband wanted to watch this movie so I sucked up and made a mental note. Just ordered our food and drinks and so good so far. So, on our way out, we used the women's restroom and NEVER, EVER in my life nor in all my years of traveling have I EVER witnessed a restroom so ultimately disgusting and filthy ever. We tried to hold off on going to Alamo Drafthouse until the newness wore off a little (avoid crazy long lines, somewhat bad service, etc.), but we caved when we both had Monday off from adulting. I've driven past the Drafthouse multiple times as they've been building it and when we actually came up to the lot (that is still under construction) it didn't really look all that different from any of the other theaters in EP. But the inside, specifically the bar is very modern and smartly designed. The interior is a lot different than any other theater in the area. The carpets have mesmerizing patterns, interesting use of wood to create walls, beautiful murals in the bar, and funky lighting to complete it all. We decided to order some drinks at the bar. I really love that you can order drinks at the bar and take them with into the movie, you just have to close out your tab first. Our waitress was really nice and even offered samples of both the beer and wine. "Drafthouse" is in the name so obviously they have more beer than wine. Of the four options, I sampled their Riesling which was dry, but surprisingly not sweet at all... just really dry and light which made me wonder if they actually game me the Chardonnay. Either way, I ended up ordering a glass of it. For a beer and glass of wine we paid $13, plus a tip. Ordering tickets online is very simple and I recommend it so you can save some time from heading to the theater super early just to pick up tickets. Picking your seats online is pretty easy too, just keep in mind where the tables are because you probably want to share a table with a person you know. We purchased two tickets during the day for only $17.70... not a bad deal! The theater actually seems a little small, but in a good way... eyeballing it, I think it might only hold about 60 people. They might not all be this small though so keep in mind what time you're going and how new the movie is. There's a lot of space between each row, but each level is actually not that different in height which forces the waiters to hunch over to pick up orders and drop off food. The one thing I did notice during the movie was the fact that they weren't using surround sound. All of the sound was coming from the front and it was loud enough so no biggie, but I did see that they have speakers throughout the theater so I'm guessing there's some kind of technical issue. We went crazy ordering food. Okay, I went crazy ordering food. But there's just a lot of things on the menu that sound really good. We ordered a carnivore pizza, chips and queso, fries with Parmesan herb aioli, and the fish tacos. I didn't have any room for the pizza, but of the other three dishes I did try, I thought they did a damn good job preparing each dish. We devoured the fries within minutes of receiving them. The chips and queso were great and I'll probably do them every time. The fish tacos was the only thing I wouldn't order again. The fish was cooked well and the toppings were good, but the cod pieces weren't really seasoned themselves and they were so large many bites were a little bland. All of this only set us back $35. But I did notice there was a 15% discount for training so it probably would've set us back $42-ish normally, but still a good deal. They've done a really great job with the design of this theater. It's the most ideal place to enjoy a movie (especially since they stress no talking or texting). The food is great! They have a variety of drinks available both at the bar and in the theater. There are a variety of pros and cons for me when it comes down to coming down to see movies at the Alamo Drafthouse. My favorite movie theatre is still Cinemark West, but Alamo Drafthouse stands out for a few reasons. Pros: Alamo Drafthouse offers movies that you normally would not see at other movie theaters ranging from Animes to foreign films to unique documentaries. I love having the opportunity to be able to go and see these films because the Drafthouse has taken the time to feature it. Not going to lie some of these films are super weird but I end up going because my little brother is a big anime and foreign film nut. It is always nice to get out of my comfort zone and check out these movies. Continuing with the Pros is obviously Alamo being a drafthouse and having such a large selection of beers to drink. Time to time I try out the adult shakes, but I really like to come in and try the various beers they drafthouse has to offer. Beforehand as many others, I have always had my favorite beers to drink, but the drafthouse offers me the opportunity to try something new while also getting some great recommendations from the staff. This brings me to my next pro, The Staff. The staff at the drafthouse have always been incredible from the bartenders to the servers that greet you and bring your food and drinks to you. I have never had a problem when it comes to my server and getting what I need before or during the movie. Cons: One of my biggest cons with the drafthouse is the seats here in El Paso. I have been to other Alamo's and I just cannot fathom why the seats are so uncomfortable at this theatre. Every time I take my family that is one of the biggest things we do not like and having recliner seats at Cinemark West immensely helps with the decision-making process of which theatre to go to. Another con of mine is the food. I just think the food here is seemingly average and not very tasty. Unfortunately the first few times I ordered here I found myself still hungry after leaving the theatre. In the end, I decided just to order a few drinks, every now and then some bottomless popcorn and soda for my family and then go out to eat afterward. So. I liked it. More than I thought I would. Will I go back? Ehh... probably definitely. Obviously new, very clean. Staff is all very friendly and helpful. I had never been to this type of theater, so I had to have everything explained to me. Oh, if you don't want to see a movie, you can just hang out in the restaurant/bar. That's where I went first because the movie I wanted was sold out and my second choice wasn't seating yet. As long as you close out your tab with your server, anything you order there can go to your movie with you. The menu is decent. Some normal staples - popcorn, burger, hotdog, fries, chicken fingers. Then some more interesting fare as well- Brussel sprout, smoked bacon, and goat cheese pizza? I ordered the Chips&Queso (dip was good, you can add chorizo, avocado, or salsa, but I had it plain. Chips were your normal tortilla chips) and the grown up grilled cheese and fries (mozzarella, goat cheese, spinach, tomato -not for me-, and I added bacon. Yummmmm) I ended up only being able to finish maybe half of everything, but that's because it was a lot of food not because it wasn't good. Oh. Except for the Salted Caramel shake. I got a sweet tooth towards the end of the movie... But the shake was pretty much a huge glass filled with nothing BUT caramel. TOO sweet for me. A couple sips was all I could stomach. The seating (although NOT as comfy as Cinemark Bistro in Sunland Park Mall) was pretty nice. I say that begrudgingly because I thought I'd never enjoy a normal movie seat after enjoying the lazy boys at the bistro.. but yeah. Still your typical fold-down, theater style seat.. but nice. There was a decent sized table between seats with lights underneath for reading/writing once the rest of the lights go down. I was in theater 5, fairly small, but not over packed. Ordering from your seat is pretty easy. You fill out the card provided, with the pens provided-write legibly, obviously - stand it up in the rail, server comes by and takes it. It was kind of awkward for me at first because when the servers move between rows of seat, they kind of crawl so they keep a low profile and don't walk in front of anyone trying to watch the movie... but then I got used to it and just kind of ignored them. We had an Alamo Drafthouse in the last city I lived in, so I was familiar with their concept. I appreciate how they strive to be unique and I feel they accomplish that goal. I love love love that they do movie parties and will often show films that no other theater is showing. Most recently, that was RBG. Had it not been for Alamo Drafthouse, I would not have had an opportunity to see RBG which I had been highly anticipating and it didn't disappoint. The table situation at this particular location is better than the new Drafthouse that opened in Corpus Christi. In any case, I really wish they had reclining seats. Once you get accustomed to a certain reclining lifestyle like at Cinemark over on Remcon, it's hard to go back. They also have some fun and add on themed food and drink menu items for some of the blockbuster titles. We tried out the new venom cocktail they had for Jurassic Park and sadly it was a miss. Our server saw we were not fans of it though and kindly offered us something else. The popcorn is always a hit as is the chocolate chip cookie shake. The Royale cheeseburger is also pretty good, but not the best I've had. The bar in the theater lobby (Glass Half Full) can be a fun evening all on its own! We came tonight just to hang out and have a couple cocktails and to our surprise they were doing Star Wars themed loteria. They gave out free movie tickets to the winners. We asked our server if they do the loteria on a regular basis and she said no, but they are considering it. They do have Geeks who Drink (trivia night for those who aren't familiar) on Tuesdays and Sunday evenings. read more

One of my favorite things about my trip to El Paso was seeing The Room at the Alamo Draft House! I've seen this particular cinematic travesty at least twice before, but never complete with spoon-throwing and yelling at the screen. That really makes it! The facility is nice, with ample parking and a bar where you can pre-game before a bad movie such as this. I love the big, comfy theater seats with tables. Service throughout made it a truly great movie experience. The buffalo cauliflower is not too be missed. The portion is shareable, though I did not share. Get your own! I also caved to temptation and had a chocolate chip cookie milkshake, which was great at well. I would come here all the time if I was local. The only drawback is the food prices-- definitely more in line with Chicago than EP. read more

So I wanted to see a box office block buster for my birthday. Decided to go to Alamo Drafthouse this past weekend. The first time I have ever been to a theater that serves you at tour seats. It was a very interesting experience. First recommendation, ARRIVE EARLY. It really sucks trying to order your meal in the dark. We did arrive about 15 minutes early but we didn't figure it would be pitch black in the place. Second recommendation, FINGER FOOD. Trying to eat a taco with the dipping sauce was not as cool as it seemed. Good thing I was wearing black. Our server was quick and was able to be mindful of the other patrons around us. I enjoyed the adventure until the check came, bit on the pricey side. We thought that the refills were free and they weren't. Nice place to visit especially with their special movie night offers e.g. old school flash back films. Great place for a date for sure. Next time I'm going to plan better for the movie. Love the bar space out front for chilling, a very mature atmosphere. You guys will see me again. Thanks guys. LY read more

I left to bring my kids to this place, and they love it too. Sitting in the very front row can be difficult looking up at the screen, but the kids love it. The food is quite impressive for a movie theater. The Caesar salad is only five dollars. If you order it, make sure to ask for the dressing on the side. It has plenty of garlic. And I love garlic. read more

This is the new standard regarding movie theatre experience! The seats were ok but the service was amazing. We went to brunch and enjoyed mimosas, with a breakfast sandwich with fries while watching a great movie. So fun!!! And did I mention that the popcorn had real butter and served in a large metal bowl like I made at home? Awesome! We will be back for sure. read more
