Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with this business. I've been bringing my clothes here for about 2 years and I've spent hundreds of dollars for dry cleaning and minor alterations during that period. I dropped off a stack of clothes about two weeks ago, and picked up this afternoon. Upon arriving home, I realized that my white blouse (a white button up, long sleeve) had yellow streaks on both sleeves as well as sporting on the front by the collar. The shirt did not have stains before I brought it in and I asked for a dry cleaning. I took the shirt back about 10 minutes later. The woman proceeded to tell me that the shirt was like that when I brought it in (a $200 shirt in like new condition). She would not take accountability for the staining and insisted that I did not know what I was talking about--as though I didn't know what my own clothes looked like before I brought them in. She gave me my $8 back unprompted and commented that she could try stain removal AGAIN. This wasn't an "again" situation--there was not significant yellowing to the top before I brought it there. I walked out, and went to another cleaner/tailor. This individual confirmed my suspicion: given the extent of the yellowing, it's likely that the blouse reacted to something applied to it during cleaning. I should have known better--just two months ago, the sleeve of another sweater was damaged here following a repair (I didn't complain then because it was minor, but I should have). Based on my experience today, I do not believe that this business respects its customers and stands by its services. I hope that others have better luck. read more

I never write reviews but I'm so happy and too shy to call them and personally thank them so I think this will do! This place is great. Super kind staff, and quick results. I brought in a dress Monday with pictures of what I wanted done and I've had terrible experiences every other time I've had things altered, but never tried Aladdin. I'm so glad that I did! They had it done a day early and it's PERFECT. Exactly what I wanted, just like the pictures. There was the tiniest stain on the dress but fortunately it fell on a part where it can't be seen, hence the 4 stars (but this always happens when I get things altered and it's so tiny that I'm fine with it). It was $20, but I feel like you get what you pay for in this department. I'll definitely be going back! read more

When you walk in the people there are very respectful and kind. I've had my shirts dry cleaned before and they came back in excellent condition . They've also worked on my pants and stitched up some holes for free! The price is my only concern. It's a little too steep for pants. read more

In all my years of life, I have NEVER come across the a business owner or employee that was so unprofessional as I did today. I went into Aladdin cleaners to have a brand new (very expensive) dress steamed. Not ever having had an item steamed, I inquired about the process; while the gentleman in the store shared they have a machine, when I began to ask a clarifying question, the female employee lets out a loud "Oh my God". I proceeded to ask what she was saying 'oh my god' too, informing her that I was bringing in an expensive dress and wanted to know the process. She became verbally hostile, started yelling at me, and said "I'm tired of this, I can't do this anymore". When I told her it was unprofessional to yell at me and that she must be having a bad day, she became even more belligerent. This is the worse experience I've ever had - and I recommend that Riverdale folks NOT use this cleaner ever!! I headed straight to Prestige around the corner on 235th and found their customer service to be top notch! Shame on you Aladdin! If the woman who yelled at me today is the owner- you should sell your business. If you are not the owner and the owner is reading this, you should let this employee go. Please check the footage and recognize that this type of behavior is very bad for business! Very sweet owners and the prices are decent. The clothes are ready on time and they are open a little before 7am which is great for people like my husband who didn't have a chance to go Saturday - he goes before work and changes there and then is on his way. read more

I brought Aladdin Cleaners a suit and two shirts on Monday morning and told them I absolutely needed the clothes back on Wednesday morning for Wednesday afternoon meeting. The clothes were ready on time, they looked, and Aladdin even replaced a button on the suit that I knew was missing, but forgot to point out to them. The folks at the store were good humored and courteous and I'd absolutely recommend them. read more

Worst dry cleaner ever. Rude. "Fixed" a jacket then stitching all came out after wearing once and she gave the biggest attitude because I said I was upset about paying $42 for the jacket. When I said I'll take it to my old dry cleaner she grabbed my jacket and wouldn't let me leave, holding on to my jacket while I was holding it. NEVER AGAIN!!!! They are the worst!!!!!! Friendly, quick, and reliable. They have always been able to accommodate a quick turn-around time without issue. The staff are very kind and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to trust them with complicated jobs. They once magically fixed a tear in the sleeve of a blazer I was sure I would have to throw away. Hettie is not only an amazing seamstress and fashionista, she is also an amazing friend who appreciates how to bring out the best in everyone she meets. I was lucky enough to encounter this unassuming dry cleaning establishment en route to CVS several years ago. I had no idea I would find a seriously stylish lady who is now my trusted advisor in so many ways. Hattie has a shrewd eye for detail and will not mince words. If that dress makes your butt look big, your gonna hear about it -- GOOD! I don't wanna wear a big butt dress!!! I love her like family, she is a true gem! Just be sure to make an appointment, even if you call the same morning.... she needs to know who she is seeing and what is involved. Also, I have to say that everyone in this place is very awesome. As a cleaner they clean well. The real value here is the tailoring section with Hettie being the most knowledgeable lady about male and female clothing. Their alterations are extremely precise and done quickly and made to last. Prices can be a bit on the high side depending on what is being done, but it is well worth it knowing that it won't fail you. Make sure to call ahead to make sure Hettie will be there before going for tailoring. read more
