Bottom Line: the owner Dave West is a man of his word. My FIAT 500/Abarth convertible top was crunching, stuck would not close or do full travel. I was given a quote to repair and told that these were very complex, time consuming repairs. The price, while high, but only half of what dealers in Atlanta and Huntsville quoted. I was given the choice of using the top closed, or a complete redo. This was the only shop in Birmingham willing to attempt the repair. After replacing the rails, travellers, multiple parts (all of cheap OEM FIAT plastic), the top still had issues. It did not stop at the midposition detents, and the trunk would not open. Reviews of this top on the internet show that it is very complex and I feel cheaply made. That is why most shops won't touch them. After two further attempts at repair, I was told that there was nothing further they could do. However, they agreed to a third attempt, at their expense if I would bring the car back two months later. Although skeptical, I took Dave West's word that they would make it right. True to his word, Dave fixed the issues on his own dime! I knew that he lost money on the repair and offered to pay him additional monies. He refused and apologized for the delay in getting it fixed. Although he was nice, I am accustomed to ethical shops calling their customer, explaining the problem and the price and allowing the customer decide if they want to continue to have them fix it. I was not given that choice. He called said it was fixed and with no parts needed, only a programming issue it was over $350. I get that I need to pay for labor but that is excessive! We had the top replaced on our VW Beetle three and a half years ago. The glass separated from the canvas not long ago and we were told to bring the car back to the shop and they would replace the top for free. So, today we drove two cars from Montgomery to Birmingham. We knew it would take them a few days to do the work and we had to drive our other car so we could get back home. We walked into the business with our SIX YEAR warranty in hand....ready to leave the car with them. The owner informed us that we had gotten 4 years use out of the top and they could not honor the warranty. He told us that he didn't even know who the manufacturer of the top was but he knew from experience that they would not replace the top. I asked for the manufacturer's phone number and was told it "would take a lot of legwork to find the manufacturer's name." He also told me he wasn't going to "play this game" with me. We have contacted our lawyer and will proceed from there. The owner might find that the legwork needed to fight a lawsuit might require a bit of "legwork" on his part. This was the first time I have used this company and the minute I walked into the business , the friendly gentleman asked for my keys and had me in and out of there within 40 minutes. Had my car shipped to a Certified Mercedes Shop in Texas, and to their surprising discovery, found that Only 2 Hydraulic Cylinders were touched (AAT told me they did 7!!!??) in addition they found that "STOP LEAK" had been poured into my hydraulic system?!!!! Which almost damaged my car!!! This place is beyond unethical and you are asking for big trouble allowing them to work in your car!!!! i own a 350 z and the top is having a problem going up and down told them the problem before i brought it in they stated they could fix it left it over week later called and said needed new bans said fine another week went to get the car and the top worked left went to use it didnt work took it back two or three days later manager called stsed his top man had a heart attack and would be out for 9 weeks and they would call me i gave them the benifit of doubt and said o k im still waiting for the callo i didnt realize they were liars would not reccmend them for anything very sorry auto top shop cant fix a top no matter what the problem is plus they dont tell the truth read more

Stay away from this place. Took my car in for water leak. Paid $800.00 still had same problem. Dropped car again wanted more $$. They replaced a part that the Ford dealer and two other car vendors confirmed would not have cause water leak. Took it to auto collision shop they found the leak within 10 minutes and fixed it for free. They had my car for a total of 10 days. They are not qualified. Overcharge and under deliver. Poor customer Service. No idea how they could still be in business. This is not an honest trustworthy business. If you want to be ripped off and not be satisfied then take your car to them. I had my Mercedes 350 sunroof and interior roof done there. When I got my car back the fabric was dirty, as if the repairer did not wash his hands as if he replaced my fabric with dirty hands. I had to get them to try and clean it off until I just got aggravated and left. It also appeared as if some of the fabric was not attached. I'm pretty sure i will be taking it back. They do offer a 5 yr warranty. i will let you know when I take it back so you will be aware of their warranty. However, they were fast, and not as expensive.
