This was the first time using Akumin! I had to get an Echocardiogram today. Because I have a CDL (commercial drivers license) and had heart surgery I have to have an Echocardiogram and Stress Test every two years. I'm able to alternate the test so this year it was the Echo. I did all the necessary paperwork online. Did the checkin process online and downloaded all the required documents and insurance information prior to arrival. I arrived at 10:30am and signed in and waited to be called back. About 10 minutes later they called me back for my procedure. I was completely done and leaving the facility at 11:05am. Everyone at the front desk was very friendly! The technician that did my echocardiogram procedure was very friendly and talked to me about my procedure. Everything was nice and updated and clean. The only thing I noticed was the restroom was messy but I think someone just came out "with issues lol". Definitely recommend Akumin and glad I came today. Will definitely not be worried next year when I come back for my stress test! read more

I have had no troubles with the people who have done testing on my husband and myself. They were quite nice and professional. It was the answering service and the 888 number you have to call to make the appointment it was more than just frustrating and hard to understand the dialect I have so many that I have to negotiate just during the day. Maybe you make an appointment online because this was just too frustrating. The most incompetent phone agents. I've called 4 times trying to schedule an appt and each time they try to send me to a location that does not perform the procedure I need and tell me that they do. Then they just stop responding and I have to call again. read more

SCAMMERS! I just went through this in May 2024. The scammers send me several emails saying I have appointments. I DID NOT EVER MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THESE BA$TARDS! And I NEVER WILL! I know no one else made an appointment because I do not currently have a primary doctor. So .. who made the appointment and why? INSURANCE SCAM!!! I called twice to tell them they're not faking tests on me! The first call was a guy who just kept saying he couldn't hear me. I called back. Had MRI done there and it was great. Techs and nurse (male with beard) was awesome and informative. I would definitely use them again.

I was visiting my physician in the area for a pre-operative check and needed a CXR. As this spot was right across the street I went over hoping that I could get in fairly quickly. Greeted promptly and told that the wait would be less than 15 minutes, so that worked out well. Paperwork was minimal and the staff was very friendly. CXR completed and out the door I went, all in all a very quick and painless experience. read more

I've been bringing my mom to this place for years. The appointment process was very easy even with having to make changes to an original appointment. The downside was the front desk. When I first arrived I was greeted by a curt staff, she was not very nice. I asked if I can accompany my mother through all her tests as she's not very mobile & her reaction was negative. 'I don't think you can' without first checking. I told her fine. You'll be responsible if my mother falls. Another thing is their process for a patient requiring multiple types of X-ray. They need lockers to put personal items during the tests. That should be the first stop. The only thing that saved them from getting 2 stars was Tiffany the technician. She was so helpful with a great attitude. read more

To clarify any confusion, this place used to be called Signet Diagnostic and the signs on Roosevelt and on the building still say that. But, all paperwork says Elite - they just have not corrected the signage outside. The last time I was here was 6 years ago and while the building was old even then, the interior (patient dressing rooms and testing areas) appeared brand new, clean and welcoming but the waiting area was dark and dingy. Fast forward to now, it's the opposite. The waiting area is bright and clean, and the patient dressing rooms and testing areas are dingy and in disrepair. The dressing area had broken lockers (so you have to keep your valuables with you at all times) and looked like it hadn't been swept or wiped down in a while. The testing area (mammograms) had a very large water leak somewhere and blue pads all over the floor to mop it up and smelled like mildew. Considering all the expensive medical equipment in the room, you'd think they'd be more proactive about plumbing. The women in the waiting area that process your insurance, etc., were polite. The mammogram tech, on the other hand, left a lot to be desired. She was a low-talker and mumbled, only enunciating properly when I had to ask her to repeat herself. She yelled at me for stepping on the wet mess on the floor (I couldn't avoid it) and she yelled at me for walking too close to her extensive toy collection in the windowsill (not very professional). She also got very irritated when she quizzed me on health issues (not asked on the form I filled out) and I had to look up the dates. She also made borderline inappropriate remarks about my hair and a tattoo on my breast. I cannot say whether she was unduly rough during the actual test because, by its nature, a mammogram is quite uncomfortable anyway. I will say she was nasty when it was all over with, telling me I "better make sure you're covered up" as I went back to the dressing area. I thought she was joking at first (I was covered up when I walked in) but by the scowl on her face, it was easy to see that she assumed I was just going to streak half-naked through the hallways just to tick her off. I did receive my results in a very fast manner (via mail) but all things considered, I most likely will not return to this location next year. read more

My experience here was positive. From the moment I gave them a call I was greeted kindly and the call center was able to help me with setting up an appointment per my doctors request. This place turned out to be superior because of its more affordable prices. For the same exact ultrasound at St. Vincet ( with the same insurance) I was told that my out-of-pocked fee would be $675. Whereas at Akumin, this same ultrasound with the same insurance coverage was a $130 out of pocket fee. You can obviously understand why I would be grateful for this place. Additionally, the wait time was not as long as I expected. Check- in was simple and I waited maybe 15 minutes before being called back by the Radiologist. The Radiologist proved herself to be helpful in explaining what she saw and allowed me to understand better. I am all about patient education! UNPROFESSIONAL there is no communication between the front and back staff! They left me in the back lobby waiting for a clarification regarding my Xray order for a HOURS!!! I came to the front they said they could just get a verbal from my physician. After that was cleared they still took another 3 hours to take me in to have the X-ray done! read more

Writing this review while I'm sitting in a dirty waiting room waiting for my CT scan. If I wasn't in such bad pain I'd run away from this place as fast as I could. The whole place is dark and dirty. I tried to use their bathroom but there was no TP and the bathroom was filthier than any gas station bathroom I've been in. You can also tell that everyone here hates their job. I was told to come an hour before my appointment and not eat anything for 4 hours before my scan. Only to be told when I arrived that they made a mistake telling me not to eat and to come so early. But it wasn't accompanied with an apology. I am at their Riverside location. Hopefully their other locations in Jacksonville aren't as depressing and dirty. read more

Two Saturdays in a row the ultrasound tech has called out so the ultrasound is canceled. It is terribly unprofessional to not plan or have others on call to perform the procedures. I certainly hope that the lump we need to have an ultrasound of is not something serious. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I love this site they are open on Saturday I had an appointment at 8 I was there about 40 minutes and the nurse was good I had to have a MRI done she walked me thought step by step letting me know exactly what she was doing at all times. read more

Horrible place !!!appointment at 1030am 2 hours later still waiting in a freezing room ...workers seemed confused and very unorganized ...not one person came to explain had to ask and of course the person didn't know what was going on asked for manager who never came !!
