Called to schedule a furnace tune-up. They gave me an upcoming date & a time slot of 12pm to 4 pm. After receiving NUMEROUS text messages to confirm the appointment & even a text message again from them on the day of the service indicating they were coming that day in the noon to 4 pm time slot, I then received a call at nearly 4 pm saying they can't make the time slot because the service tech had a job taking longer than expected. They then asked if I wished to reschedule the appointment. Ok, after I had blocked out the appropriate day & time for me to be home that entire afternoon base upon ALL their texting to confirm, yes needless to say I was very disappointed. Why not call earlier OR, OR....have a backup plan to send someone else. If that's the kind of scheduling management they demonstrate, I wouldn't recommend Aksarben ARS as a professional company. Just like every other company that grows, they become greedy. We used them for both new a/c and furnace. They then sold us on their "service plan ". They come out at beginning of seasons to "maintain ". In the beginning, not so bad but later they begin stating things we "need" for additional costs. The final straw was the need for blower wheel and evaporator coil cleaning and gave me a quote of more than $3,000.00. I had someone else come look and they said it did not need cleaning, that they showed me pictures of someone else's. Needless to say I'm finished with them. Did the $50 seasonal deal tune-up. The tech didn't know how to use our thermostat and didn't realize we have a heat pump. We had a bearing in the motor that was making noise, so they told us we'd either have to replace the motor or the whole unit. The motor would be over $2000! Called a more reputable company to come out, they greased the bearing, noise stopped, and the motor quote was only $700. I feel like I was being duped, especially after finding out that Aksarben is commissions-based. Won't be using their service again. read more

I'm sharing this publicly because I have been misled, overcharged, and repeatedly ignored by Aksarben, and after giving them every opportunity to make things right. What started as a simple routine service call under my HSP membership turned into a high-pressure sales situation. Shortly after the technician visit, a salesperson arrived and quoted me nearly $20,000 for what was described as a "top-of-the-line" system -- including $2,400 for a new water heater, supposedly with HSP discounts. During the signing, the salesperson instructed me to rush through the "quality control" call and falsely confirm I had reviewed multiple system options. I was only given one option, with no effort made to provide alternatives. I have also since requested a copy of the QA recording and been completely ignored. After installation, I discovered they had left my 1990s humidifier connected to this brand-new system. I was never told this would not be replaced and was later informed I'd need to pay another $784 (and at different times $500 and $1,500) to fix it. These inconsistent and shifting quotes are deceptive. After consulting multiple licensed HVAC professionals, I confirmed the total price was $6,000-$7,000 higher than comparable systems. The equipment sold to me is not top-of-the-line by any reasonable standard. I requested an itemized breakdown of costs and have been ignored entirely. To make matters worse, the system failed inspection by MUD utilities and was declared unsafe, leaving my home without gas service, hot water, or laundry for days. Aksarben refused to honor its own 24-hour comfort guarantee and has not issued the promised $555 compensation. When I attempted to cancel the purchase within the 10-day window, both the salesperson and sales manager were "unavailable," and I was promised callbacks that never came. Multiple texts, emails and phone calls have gone unanswered. I've asked for the following reasonable resolutions multiple times: 1. A partial refund reflecting the excessive overcharges. 2. Replacement of the outdated humidifier at no additional cost. 3. The $555 compensation for the failed 24-hour guarantee. Instead, I've received only silence and dismissive responses. Horrible experience, installer miswired causing a switch to burn out. Have had 3 service visits so far and still waiting on a 4th to actually get it fixed. We spent ALOT of money on HVAC system and customer service keeps telling us "they have a note in". Took time off of work because they said they would be here between 8-12 today, then at 12:00 called and said they could t figure out who needs to come out. So now they say next Wednesday they will come out, plus when my husband asked to speak to a service manager the lady said it could be 3-4 days to talk to someone. Since April I've been given dates to per my AC checkup: April 15 scheduled and on April 15 they called an cancelled changed to May 13 then called and cancelled till June 24 then called and canceled until July 10. They were my go to provider until today. However They explained to me at my furnace inspection that I had A breach in my heat exchanger and I would need to replace it or better yet get a new furnace. I had 2 other independent companies come out (the same day) and they explained that they saw no issues from and went so far as to let me crawl in the furnace and look at scopes myself. They have also said they had similar calls from other former Aksarben reps. They also claim they will give you $1500 dollars if the other company can show that they were wrong. what they don't explain is that they need to show it while the Aksarben TEAM is on site with them which puts the other service teams in an uncomfortable position. She calls me at work in a panic because the service tech told her that if she didn't replace the furnace right away that the house was going to fill up with carbon monoxide and we'd could all die. I told them to leave immediately, called another company and repaired the problem for ~$300 and it was fine until I sold the house 10 years later. Fast forward to three weeks ago, my 85-year-old widow mother calls them because the AC wasn't cold enough. Guess what? It needed to be replaced right away. I told her not to do anything until a got back into town and she even told them not to send the salesperson over (who just happened to be in the area). He showed up anyway. Then comes the scare tactics and the one-time special offers that if she didn't sign an agreement that evening would expire the next day. Rescheduled in May and they called same day with a half hour notice before they were supposed to arrive. Just spoke to a woman and got every excuse in the world of why fixing broken down air conditioner systems are more important to them than doing regular maintenance. then stop sending out coupons and pushing maintenance. Came in told me I had a bad circuit board charged 2600 then said I had a bad pressure switch and said no one had one in town and I could get one in 7 to 10 days. Told me to go.to lowes and get several portable heating units when it's 10 degrees out and to run the water so it.doesnt freeze. I mmedialy called Mccarthy heating and they fixed the pressure switch in 2 hours no problems since then. Aksarben has been out 5 times and never in the last 3 months and no one fixed a simple issue. When he gave us the estimate it came to a little over $10,000. But he said they had a "Special going on until 5pm the next day." As to pressure us into going with them. And he would "Be out of town" so we better decide soon. Horrible service. Pushy and impolite salesman. Way overpriced. This companies name may be Nebraska spelled backward. The whole experience was a nightmare and prolonged our hardships of not having working plumbing for a ridiculous amount of time. Ken R. provided us with an estimate to repair our sewer line that was not inclusive of hydro jetting, but he agreed to honor including it after sharing a competitor's estimate that included it for the same price as ARS'. When we accepted and agreed to the services, he advised him and his team would be in contact to facilitate things to dig up our yard. A few weeks went by without hearing anything, after texts and phone calls to both Ken directly and ARS' office personnel. Someone would call me from the office letting me know someone else will call me but no one did. Then Ken finally responds saying he was sick. I empathized and forgave him. He advised I would hear from someone about scheduling it by end of week, but never heard back. I followed up the next week, never heard back again for another 12 days after I made multiple phone calls and texts to Ken (directly) and the office. Once I finally spoke to a manager, they advised Ken would be in touch, then Ken called me and said he would line up everything to get started that week. We waited another week, and they finally came out to do the work within abt 10 days (estimated). At the time of the dig, the workers discovered that my sewer line was damaged by an ISP's fiber wire conduit. I appreciate them letting me know this. However, when the work was done and prior to, I was never shown the camera footage that they usually share to show before and after pics of the internal section of sewer line that was repaired. I was told by the workers that Ken was supposed to be stopping by to run the camera through the line to confirm it was all done correctly, but he never showed up. MUD and everyone else that was required to be there did for inspection purposes, but not Ken. So about 10 days later my sewer line backs up again. I call ARS, speak to Jason, the plumbing manager, told him I was DONE dealing with Ken. He is a liar and is unreliable. Jason then sent someone to that day to clear the line, and that person advised Ken would be out later that day to run the camera. Never heard back from Ken until the next day. and I was at the hospital so could not answer this one and only call. I tried calling him back, and no response to this day. I made it clear to Jason and everyone else I spoke to, all I need is them to run the camera in the line like they were supposed to from the beginning. I called Jason a few times and left VMs but no return call. He spoke to my husband on one occasion and asked if we were reimbursed from the ISP provider who damaged the line, which I find interestingly inapplicable to the topic we were discussing. I guess that means they don't have to do their job now? Doesn't matter who pays, as long a they get paid, but they wanted to bring that point up without taking any ownership for all their mishaps and dropping the ball, including skipping the camera footage. Since no one will fix this issue, and they were paid over $4600, I am now contacting the BBB to help make this right. All they had to do was send someone else to run the camera footage and show us the footage, but they would rather make it more miserable for us and themselves. Everything was acceptable with the work, my issue is their price - which they discussed with my son, not with me, because I was out of town. The repair was a bad capacitor. The new capacitor was $75. They charged me $700 for the repair. $625 for a service fee and labor. The guy was here for less than an hour. I thought there was an error - so I called them to discuss. After 5 days, and 4 calls, finally got someone who told me, nope, no mistake, that's just their rate. That's insane. I kinda suspect they gouged me a bit because they knew I was out of town and in a bind. If they didn't then their regular price structure is based on buying new boats and vacation homes for the ownership group or something. Won't be calling them back. read more

Here is the review (1 star) for Aksarben ARS : I had Aksarben ARS come out because we had a partially blocked plumbing. We paid him $159 to run a snake through to get it cleared out. Where we at least had water draining slowly, they did not run the snake completely all the way through and compacted / blocked the plumbing from draining. The guy left; said nothing. Ran water and it was completely blocked. Had to call them back and tell them they didn't fix it. They said someone would come out tomorrow with a camera. I called back to get them out today! The guy with the camera called, never came out and wanted us to pay $1200 to get it broke loose with high-pressure water. I am done with Aksarben ARS. They didn't charge us for the half assed snake job they did but still took our service money ($55). Called Rotor Rooter same day. They came out with a snake and fixed it. We don't want people getting scammed by Aksarben ARS. Big FO to Aksarben ARS; in which I said a little (Very Little) kinder way when I talked to them. I'm waiting for them to return my message to let them know that there are people out there that know how to fix things. Here is a constructive review: "Aksarben ARS. Making it work. Making it right!" Making it work? - Nope. Making it right? - Nope. If I could give them 100 stars I would. In the midst of a very negative situation, Aksarben and crew were to the rescue. We had a large section of our sewer pipe collapse leaving us with nastiness, everywhere. It took a while to figure out what was really going on and walking beside them through this process, I can see why. What a challenging job they have. "I just love when I have to call the plumber" - said no one ever. I will tell you though - I honestly enjoyed talking to Marian. I really dislike giving one star ratings, but I feel that this is well earned. Strap in, this is a story. I had an appointment with them Wed to come out and look at a stopped up tub drain. When they got here, they charged me the $49 trip fee, and discovered that my tub has a drum trap rather than a P trap. They were unable to snake it, and left me with a stopped up drain and another appointment for Friday when someone would come up, punch a hole in the ceiling of my kitchen, and replace it that way. Ok. I wish I had better news, but I can wait since they seemed to have tried, right? I come to find out, they weren't that great at their job. Friday rolls around and the new tech immediately finds the access point to get to the trap that the first set of guys missed. He however, for whatever reason is unable to do the work, advises me the job is bigger than I was originally told, and has to reschedule me for another estimate next week, Wed. On top of that, he starts talking about how they can't just leave the lead pipes in my 100 year old house alone, and have to bring the whole bathroom up to code. They might even have to pull a permit and get the city involved. That can can cost upwards of $4000 dollars and leave me with multiple holes in my walls for upwards of a week while we watch to make sure none of their work leaks. I asked if they'd be repairing those holes, he said no. They'd refer me to a contractor for even MORE money. I'm seeing red at this point. When I said that I had just spent nearly $15,000 on a new HVAC system with them not two months earlier hoping that might mean something, he didn't miss a beat in telling me that's another arm of the company and the only way they could cut me a deal was if I was in their special customer program. He didn't take the time to even appear to ask if they could do something for me, especially having discovered their first set up guys missed a major part of what I would think their job it. To go with them, I'd have to be without my tub yet another week. This is the same company that offers 24 hour service on their website, mind you. And they can't get anyone out to make things right, much less get me an estimate for another 5 days. I'm not pleased. I have since called around, and Major Drain will be at my house tomorrow, a SATURDAY without charging me weekend rates. Now that I have access to the trap, it's possible to snake it, and they're going to try. Later in the week, if I want, I can talk to them about what it will cost to replace the trap, and the trap only. Barring major changes, Major Drain will have my business instead of Aksarben ARS. They refused to come fix it without me first getting the gas company to confirm it. I got a different plumber to come out and fix it. I'll never do business with Aksarben again. read more

Had a heat pump installed last year at the tune of $15,000. Noticed one day when it was miserably cold out that we'd popped a breaker to the secondary heat in the air handler. I know sometimes Gremlins happen so I didn't worry too much. During the annual tune up, the guys popped the breaker again. Now I'm being told that some how the breakers got swapped and there should be a 60A in a spot where there was originally a 20A and upgraded to a 30A during the install. Not sure what fly-by-night electricians these guys are using but I'm not impressed... After this young man called for help 4 times, he got it straight that there were possibly wires crossed. Add to that the fact that every time they come out, they need to borrow my ladder and flashlight be very wary of calling Askarben out for anything... read more

UNETHICAL!! The technicians is not trained to fix the issue they are trained to sell new systems!!! A furnace went out in one of my rental homes on the coldest weekend of the year. in panic, I called several companies to see who could have someone available to come out and fix it ASAP. Aksarben (ARS) was the first one to respond. They sent someone out within a few hours. After being there for 30 minutes the tech called me with my options. The first option was to fix the furnace which was going to be over $6000 included a new blower capacitor, blah, blah, blah. He then told me blowers are out of stock and very hard to get right now. Due to the extreme cold weather (not wanting pipes go freeze) and the price being so expensive he suggested a new furnace completely. Within an hour he had his "sales" person there quoting me a new furnace for $7300. I ALMOST said yes just so it would be completed before any other issues arose. However, I decided to get a second opinion. I was able to get Fraizers to come out and take a look soon after Aksarben (ARS) left. The tech called and said the system was locked up but all he could see was that we needed a new blower for $700 (which WERE in stock, Aksarben said the distributor was OOS)! He also said that should that not work they would discount a new furnace to compensate for the blower amount. Within 2hrs they had the new blower installed, and the heater is working great! DO NOT TRUST AKSARBEN, there goal is to replace not fix!!!! I % suggest Fraizers. Great customer service. saved me over 6k by just being honest and ethical. read more

Had a pleasant young man out for a bid on Friday. As of 5PM Wed, still no bid. I called to see if something happened to the young man, or when I might expect a bid. I feared he may have been in an auto accident or was otherwise unable to work. I expressed numerous times to the Gent doing the bid life took a very bad turn for me with multiple health issues related to drinking toxic water at Camp LeJeune that had "already" killed 18,000, that got bad enough it forced me onto disability and more than once being concerned for my very life. I also expressed in certain terms I was trying to survive on a tiny fixed income, and am single with no second household income. Clearly, a person severely strapped for money but who still needed a new furnace and AC. I'd requested an A and B bid as most give you, to give me some flexibility in choosing the right units as I deemed appropriate, being handy and having a good basic grasp of HVAC. I only received the one bid with the diamond and ruby add-ons. Finally, my bid arrived Thursday via text, barely readable, and it was FIFTY PERCENT higher than another bid from a major local long-term HVAC company quoting quality Trane equipment, ....with the ARS bid including all manner of exotic add-on's like UV lighting, air purifier, etc on the ARS Ak-Sar-Ben form. I clearly didn't want nor need those kinds of things and made this clear with the young man out doing the bid. I cannot and am not able to assess their actual service staff. They will install all of the wrong systems and when they don't work, make you jump through hoops to "fix" the problem. They are not a reliable installer of HVAC or Heating. AC went out and the tech refused to find the replacement part, only wanted to sell me a new unit. Finally, he agreed to even look for the part. They ordered it from Texas. A week later (98 plus heat), the tech shows up to install the part and his equipment didn't work. He was at our house until 9pm, calling other employees for help. He left, no AC... The next day, we had to practically beg to get another tech out that morning as we were miserable. It took that guy eight hours to figure out the problem... a tiny O-ring . $3,000 plus later Unbelievable. They are only interested in selling you expensive equipment as opposed to actually fixing the problem. Ethically disgusting! Had a new furnace n heat pump installed 8 months ago 15000 .Sat night in feb. no heat blew a fuse on circuit board .They come out on Monday 7 days a week ha ha for a 100 to tell me cuz my furnace filter was dirty it blew this fuse n took out the transformer . Part was going to be free under warranty they said n 600 labor so much for free labor first year so said screw my warranty with these people n had someone else look at it 40$ this thing was 4 wires n 2 screws 600 unreal now the best part the fuse didn't blow from filter but from a shot somewhere out on my new heat pump they installed.100% satisfaction guarantee no way would love 4 them to come get this system n give me my money. back 3 days no heat with a handicap son read more
