Despite the brutal 102°F heat, we braved the weather fully suited up in cosplay, I went as Monkey D. Luffy & Roxy looked incredible as Ace :) We got so many sweet compliments from fellow fans while waiting! Stepping inside really does feel like boarding the Thousand Sunny. The decor is super immersive--barrel-shaped seating, porthole windows looking out at the sea, series soundtrack playing in the background, and an awesome aquarium wall featuring a Saw-Nosed Shark ! They also have an exclusive merch wall packed with gear, Devil Fruit items, and collectible Chopper coins . The Food & Drinks Chicken Cutlet Sandwich: Super crispy and served with a side of fries. Katsu Curry: Roxy ordered this with rice and enjoyed it! Robin Drink: Delicious and refreshing after being out in the sun. The Crew & Service Shoutout to the staff--they were genuinely so sweet and friendly! Because of the intense heat wave, they had to close early on Saturday, but they handed us free slushies on our way out to cool off, which was such a thoughtful touch! The Honest Breakdown Space & Seating: Since it operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, it gets packed. It is an incredibly small, squishy space where you're basically packed like sardines elbow-to-elbow with the table next to you. Facilities: There's only one single bathroom for the entire venue, so expect a line at all times. They definitely need more seating and a second bathroom! Flavor: While the texture of the chicken cutlet was super crispy, the food overall needed a bit more salt, pepper, and seasoning--a little under-seasoned, but still fun to eat! I came here with my two friends because we love Hello Kitty and wanted to check it out! I've been to multiple of their locations before, so I had an idea of what to expect - however, if you don't, then here is a run down. It's located in Universal City Walk, which means Universal Studios parking (with validation from AMC) and neighbors Hot Topic, Ben n Jerry's, and a few other fun shops. A lot of tourists are typically on City Walk, as well as people on their way to and from Universal Studios. There tends to be a lot of people no matter the day (for the most part). The cafe doesn't have an inside - so no indoor seating, but they have a small outdoor area that is slightly gated off with some chairs and tables for the cafe specifically. If they're packed, though, most people sit on the wall on the side, or try to find seating somewhere else, although it's nearly impossible. Universal City Walk has a restroom, but Hello Kitty And Friends Cafe does not. Additionally, their menu is pretty limited. This cafe is really a niche spot for people to take their photos and get an Instagram worthy treat. Out of all the food treats, there are no dairy-free and/or gluten-free items. The items they did have featured a mini slice of chocolate cake, a birthday cake, macaroons, and a couple more items. All of the food is premade and comes from a bag, so don't expect anything super amazing. They did have good drinks, though. We got two different types of drinks, my friend and I both getting the same one, being an electric blue lemonade. The drinks were tasty and we'd definitely at least get those again! If you like or even LOVE Hello Kitty, then this location could be worth checking out! If you're willing to make a day out of it at Universal City Walk, or even Universal Studios, then it can be a fun addition! I wouldn't center your entire day around here, as it is a pretty fast grab-and-go style place with no indoor seating, but some seating right in front. The aesthetic for the store's front at least is super cute. Gluten-free and/or dairy-free? Be cautious and just get a drink from them. If you've never been to any of the Hello Kitty And Friends Cafes, then definitely go to this one if the opportunity arises! Otherwise, it's good, but not my favorite location of theirs - slightly smaller, quicker, and limited compared to their other locations.

The waiting area sells various pug merchandise and also has a touchscreen pinball machine. There is a unisex restroom available. Once our party stepped into a separate pink & clean room, the staff went over instructions on how to handle the pugs. Visitors are allowed to pick up the pugs but cannot carry them while standing. Any pug wearing a pink bandana is available for adoption. Each of us received few free treats to start, but additional treats like pupccino (a small pup cup), sausage treats, or fruit cups are available for purchase. The staff was friendly and was playing fun & energetic background music during the pug session. Our party didn't stay for the entire hour and left around the 45-minute mark because we had a dinner plan afterward. [Conclusion]: Our party had fun playing with the pugs and took plenty of photos. If you want to give them anymore you'll need to purchase them with a staff member who will offer you some options about halfway through. Another person seemed to have brought her own pug to socialize with the other pugs there. They seem like a very social breed and were very friendly. What immediately stood out is how well the cats are treated -- they have full freedom to roam, plenty of toys to keep them entertained, and they're well fed and cared for. You can tell this place genuinely prioritizes making it a warm, comfortable space for the cats while they wait for their forever home. It's not a shelter -- it feels like a home. The staff made the whole adoption experience seamless. Jude especially was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable -- exactly the kind of person you want guiding you through the process. The rest of the team matched that same energy, and it made everything feel easy and stress-free from start to finish. Read the lower rated reviews, because those paint a more accurate picture than glowing reviews from people who got discounts to this place. Adults are forced to order a meal as an entrance fee, and all the choices are subpar and overpriced. There was only one lovely staff member, an African American woman that unfortunately seemed to have left, because everyone else were not friendly nor helpful, and are barely present. The husband who supposedly cooks the meal made the driest, toughest, inedible steak salad and I couldn't even get help with my meal because there was no staff around to help, and whenever the husband came out, he would just be zipping in and out so fast I couldn't even catch him, and I couldn't leave my daughter by herself. As a previous repeat customer who tried to give this place multiple chances, it is nothing but a cash-grab by greedy owners who care nothing about kids. The owner, Geraldine, also loves to promote her business on Facebook groups, and even whine about lack of "support" from people, but when previous customers try to make suggestions or anything remotely resembling a valid criticism, she'll remove the post so no one sees it. It's very dishonest, and shows what kind of people run this business. There are better places to go to entertain kids in SGV, don't waste your time and money here.
