My total visit with him lasted 10 minutes at best. After 2 prior cervical fusions, my imaging shows severe stenosis on the right, moderate on the left, a herniated disc above my fusion, and 2mm slippage of my vertebrae at flexion and extension. My symptoms include numbness in my right hand, tingling in the back of my neck and the side of my face, and ice pick headaches in the back of my head. His response was "those symptoms don't correlate with that level. Surgery is a 50/50 chance if you'll do better. You can get another ablation or steroid shots. But degeneration is normal as we age." Maybe we can explore this as a cause: Occipital neuralgia: This is a distinct condition that is often triggered by cervical spine issues, including herniated discs. Occipital neuralgia is caused by the irritation or compression of the occipital nerves that run from the upper spine to the scalp. It is characterized by sharp, stabbing, or electric-shock-like pain that can feel very similar to an ice pick headache. Or how about it can absolutely cause the symptoms I have: A herniated disc at the C3-C4 level of the cervical spine can cause various symptoms, including: Pain: Sharp, shooting pain in the neck that may radiate down the arm into the shoulder, hand, or fingers Pain that worsens with certain movements, such as bending the neck forward or backward Numbness and Tingling: Numbness or tingling in the shoulder, arm, hand, or fingers Pins and needles sensation That was it. Off I went with the name of a chiropractor and different pain management doctor. I'm sorry but there's nothing normal about the symptoms I'm feeling. So if it's not from that level, let's figure out where it's coming from and fix it. He was absolutely horrible. I've been dealing with this for 10 years and I've never experienced a doctor who could not care less about helping. Stay away.

Pearson…read more On June 5, 2025, I had a telehealth appointment with a surgeon, Dr V at Boulder Community Health to review my EMG results and ongoing spine and nerve issues. I had waited 6 long months for this appointment, I had MRIs, CT scans, X-Rays and an EMG preparing for this and came in with the hope of receiving answers and professional guidance. My appointment was never with him it was set up with Dr Beasley and Liz her PA those are the people that I saw when I first came back to Boulder they're the ones who ordered the MRI the CT scan all of that they're the ones who ordered it and I was supposed to meet with Liz and Dr Beasley... Had been waiting months! And when I get into the meeting suddenly I'm told "oh they're not here anymore" both of them which is very strange a Red Flag IMO They didn't even give me the courtesy to tell me that I would be seeing this other surgeon and I have to tell you Dr Beasley and Liz always treated me wonderfully they're always very nice to me very compassionate you know very concerned... And then I get in with this guy and he is just horrible just just horrible... Literally the most arrogant medical professional I have ever been around and I have been around quite a few. Unfortunately, the interaction was deeply disappointing. I found the surgeon's manner dismissive and condescending. He cut me off repeatedly when I attempted to ask questions or clarify concerns, and I was left feeling disrespected, unheard, and invalidated -- especially given the seriousness of the symptoms I've been experiencing and my long history of spinal surgeries and pain. The surgeon made alarming claims that my prior surgeries were improperly performed and even stated that I was "scammed," referring to operations by well-respected providers, including one at Cedars-Sinai. Whether or not there was any surgical complication is a matter for proper medical evaluation -- not for throwing accusations during a brief, one-sided meeting where I wasn't allowed to respond fully. After the surgeon abruptly ended the appointment claiming an emergency, I was visibly upset and hung up after possibly saying "damn it" or something similar, no "F" word not even close! At no point did I curse at the provider or use abusive language toward the staff. The following day, I received a call from a staff member at BCH informing me that they would no longer be treating me, alleging that I had been disruptive and used inappropriate language. I categorically deny this. I believe I was dismissed unfairly because I expressed frustration over how I was treated -- not because I behaved in any threatening or disrespectful manner. While I will not be returning to BCH for further care, I want to have this statement on record to clarify the events from my point of view. I remain committed to finding appropriate medical support and healing, and I hope future providers will treat me with the professionalism and compassion every patient deserves. Regarding notes left in their response: The "Cursing and Hanging Up" Note This is classic CYA language (cover-your-ass). It's designed to discredit your emotional reaction without owning how they provoked it. Reality check: I was told that I was potentially "scammed" by previous surgeons, that my nerve has likely been trapped for years (which explains your suffering), and that permanent damage may have already happened. Then, the surgeon abruptly leaves--without compassion, clarity, or closure. If I muttered something while hanging up? That's human. They claimed I cursed at him because he had an emergency, that's complete baloney, My ex worked in emergency for over 20 years, that's is one thing I get, I did not curse at him period that is a LIE! I did call the front office afterwards and ask was he always this rude, which of course they did not expect, I was being honest he as well as his PA both were very rude to me. The Notes he left after my appointment were manipulative, and frankly, insulting. The "You Might Have Been Scammed" Comment Nowhere in his notes does Dr. V record his inflammatory accusation about my previous surgeries being a "scam." That alone shows his unprofessionalism: he wanted to sound like an insider but wasn't willing to put it in writing. I Was Not Overreacting--I was Dismissed and Gaslit I've been dealing with: Real debilitating pain for years every day all day Confirmed nerve damage A difficult surgical history A vulnerable post-op situation And then I get dumped on by a surgeon who made scary accusations, offered no emotional support, and had the gall to document the fallout as my fault. I have used Dr. Jones a couple of times…read more 1) I had a double hernia about 20 years ago. He had fixed it up and gave me the short term limitations (lifting) which I followed and to this day, no problems. 2) Just recently I had a ruptured appendix and went to ER. I was fortunate to pull Dr. Jones to do this cleanup and fix. The rupture was extensive and most of the work was to clean up the bad stuff in my abdomen. He had to use over 3 liters of saline to clean out the rupture so I did not die from being septic. Whilst in the hospital, he did swing by every day to check and chat. He listened to everything I said and asked, then gave clear answers/directions. A close friend of mine is a nurse that knows Dr. Jones and said I was fortunate to have him to address the rupture as he is meticulous in his work and has always been a highly regarded surgeon in the medical community. Immediately on waking, I was surprised to be in so little pain or discomfort. All parathyroid glands were left intact, and no damage was done to any vocal nerves (voice unchanged). I was given a good arsenal of pain medications to work with: Meloxicam, oxycodone, tylenol. I ended up needing only one meloxicam pill though. Neck soreness was very similar to what I feel the day or two after doing substantial work under a vehicle on my back and lifting my head a lot. Dr. Fox called me personally with the pathology results, which was nice and unexpected. His manner is excellent. Very personable with good sense of humor. In the initial consultation, he was thorough in evaluating if the surgery was the right choice for my situation and preferences, explaining other possible options. I would highly recommend Dr. Fox for any thyroid or similar surgery. The rest of the team at Alpine Surgical was top notch too.

His bedside manner includes mocking patients for feeling pain. Pain that would not have been a problem had he not botched the surgery in the first place. A 'one hour surgery' turned into a ten hour sit waiting for the patient with no word of their condition. The patient was then sent home without a functioning oxygen bottle, constant pain, and two drains in their side. Due to the lack of functioning oxygen, the patient was rushed in the middle of the night to the ER. A phone call to the doctor resulted in no apologies, but further mocking. Why? Because the doctor had forgotten to turn the bottle of oxygen on, and, rather than accept the blame, pointed the finger at those untrained in the use of the bottle. The drains, over time, began filling with blood. 'Oh, but a bit of blood is expected' says the quack. But it wasn't a "Bit of Blood" it was a pool. Over the course of a month, the victim - no longer a patient - bled profusely into these drains, with constant pain, being told she was the "princess and the pea" by doctor dick. On November 12, a full month and several days after the initial surgery the victim woke in the middle of the night, swimming in a pool of blood, screaming. After being rushed by ambulance back to the hospital for a SECOND TIME, she was asked (and I quote) 'What the f*** are you doing back here.' Followed by the "doctor" attempting to re-dress the bandages, and as he walked away, a second bleed out began. Turns out, the moron nicked the pancreas, and didn't say anything about it. Pancreatic fluid, as we then learned, is much like undiluted stomach acid, and ate through the splenic artery, resulting in the victim nearly dying. Twice. During all of this, the victim couldn't eat and keep the food down. She was laughed at by Fox multiple times, and told "i don't know." Oh, and he gave her his recipe for a brisket. Silver linings. Come to find out when a real doctor took a look, that her stomach had swollen from all of this. Third time nearly dying. But hey, he's sure proud of that quarter inch of functional spleen she still has.

It took a month to close the finger wound which was not a good outcome of my poor choice. This winter I had a worse but similar insult to the same finger so I did go to the ER and their efficient care of the finger allowed it to heal properly. This time we made the same choice for a smaller ct on a different finger and it has healed extremely well. From the moment I arrived, bloody hand wrapped , I was treated efficiently and politely, from register g window to assessment to treatment. Clerical staff and medical staff are well trained. On 1 visit, I actually needed an MD but the most recent used a PA who did a fine job. The various techs who were used to clean the wounds as well as remove stitches later were also efficient and accurate at task. I am lucky to have this fairly near by, though not as close as when BCH had the facility right in town. Back then it was a much shorter distance for my family, especially when transporting one of my children. But progress requires more and different space and with this facility accessible to a few highways it is better for the greater community that has moved to the suburbs of Boulder. Since I have good insurance and have used this facility in the past. They can process my emergencies quite quickly. There were other patients in line too, some with far greater injuries so appropriate that they were taken even more quickly and were served by the discs. Broken ribs from bicycle incidents have been other cases with priority both times. Such a Boulder situation so be careful out there!

I find it very hard to believe with his lack of skill. He placed a device in my foot and it backed out halfway. When I went back to him, he basically told me that there was really nothing he could do and that as long as I didn't have pain, it should be fine. You should've refunded the entire cost of my surgery and offered to redo his work. If you care about your feet, I would suggest you stay far away from this doctor.
