I've been trying conservative treatments for cervical spine pain for a year and finally had to resort to something stronger. Ariel Shaifer, N.P. was my caregiver and she was thorough , informative and went over the cautions of using stronger pain killers. But, she was still accommodating and not condescending or tough. You just have to pass a drug screening prior, a urine test or mouth swab. I was unable to urinate right away but sat in the lobby drinking water until I could. I had nothing to hide. Marijuana use might be a factor in the ability to receive medication, so be forewarned. I was even told to try CBD, but was concerned that since some CBD has a very small amount of THC, I had not used it. I was told that if it showed up upon my next visit, I'd just be asked to discontinue using that product. So, they aren't unreasonable. I had a plethora of conservative treatment information from several doctors and a referral, which apparently is not required, but helpful. I think that's why it went so smoothly. Ariel Shaifer is very pleasant and knowledgeable. The rest of the staff is polite and pleasant as well. I highly recommend them. I had a bad experience at Colorado Pain Specialists where the doctor actually contradicted my doctor's opinion (because he'd never heard of him) and made me cry. Plus, they were in Golden, not so close and easy to get to in Longmont. They followed COVID guidelines and there was no wait... the waiting room was busy, but not packed full. Plus, they ran on time. Seek no further, this is the right place to go!

I have been waiting over 3 months for a procedure and the office is claiming it is due to insurance denials. When I spoke to an imaging office, they told me the truth about the office- they don't do what is needed to get procedures and process out through insurance. All that was needed for an MRI to not come out of pocket for me was a peer to peer review and he refused to do so. When another medical office is apologizing for the treatment of your Dr based on a small ask they refused, you know you have a bad Dr. Dr Drennan is amazing. I have no issue with him he treats patients amazingly. If he would treat all patients his practice would be amazing. The ladies at the front desk are nice. They are aware the patient portal doesn't work correctly and apologize for that every time I come in. They say the drug testing is random, yet I have to leave a sample every time I come in. I take my medication as prescribed and I have had two test come back as bad. I think they using either a bad lab or bad practices sending in their samples. Be aware of th

I've interacted with all of the doctors including getting injections from Lief Sorensen, MD, injections / a spinal cord stimulator implanted from Bryan Wernick, MD, and my "primary care" provider at the practice, Melissa Smith, DNP. I've found them all to be talented, professional, compassionate, and always willing to listen to my concerns. Especially Melissa Smith who I see monthly. I really can't speak highly enough about the providers. To anybody on the fence about a spinal cord stimulator, the Boston Scientific stimulator has changed my life for the better. I can literally feel a significant decrease in pain the moment its turned on. Conversely, turning it off (or running out of batteries) causes an instant increase in pain from a 2/3 to a 5. My only negative with the practice was that there seemed to be a phone system issue in part of 2023 where it was difficult to speak directly to a person. I mostly used their online portal messaging system so that was not a significant problem for me. The phone system problems seems to have been resolved in late 2023 or 2024. Overall, the staff Dimensions Pain Management have given me back a normal relatively pain free life. I would strongly recommend them to anyone in need of pain management services.

Unfortunately, after seeking help from numerous doctors and exploring various avenues for pain management, this was my final attempt at finding relief. Dr. Jan Gillespie-Wagner and Darci Rossitier were Dismissive and Uncaring. During my appointment, the doctors I encountered displayed a hostile and aggressive demeanor. They failed to consider the impact of my chronic pain on my daily life. Furthermore, they seemed quick to dismiss my concerns and stereotype me as a patient, rather than listening to my specific experiences. They were apathetic towards atypical pain. The most concerning aspect was their lack of understanding or apparent disregard for my non-typical pain condition. Instead of offering help, they were dismissive and pushed me away as a patient. A Broken System: It's disheartening to realize how many people suffer at the hands of these medical professionals who are supposed to help. This experience is just one more example of how the current system fails patients with non-standard conditions. DO NOT GO HERE. They will stereotype you from the start and then don't listen to your situation.

During the phone intake, a staff member asked about my "second appendix surgery," which reflects a concerning lack of basic medical understanding and attention to accuracy. Upon arrival at the clinic, a patient exited an exam room yelling profanities about one of the medical staff, referring to him in derogatory terms. Front desk staff did not appear surprised or corrective, even agreeing with her, which created an unprofessional and unsettling environment. Once taken to the exam area, I was again asked to verbally repeat the same information already provided multiple times. My pharmacy information was listed on two intake forms and verbally confirmed with staff, who entered it into the computer in my presence. I would like to acknowledge that the physician assistant, Chris Kottenstette, provided a thorough and understandable explanation of how pain responses affect the brain and body. I appreciated that portion of the consultation. He recommended a non-narcotic prescription medication and discussed two potential nerve block procedures, one of which I declined. However, the follow-through on the medication prescription was nonexistent. After returning home, I never received notification from my pharmacy. When I contacted the office, I was told they did not have my pharmacy information. This was after it had already been provided in writing twice and verbally confirmed. I confirmed the pharmacy again and was told the prescription would be ready after 5:00 p.m. Shortly after that phone call, another staff member called stating they still did not have my pharmacy information. In total, my pharmacy details were provided five times within approximately two hours. A week later, still nothing. The only action that appears to have been completed efficiently was scheduling a surgical procedure. Given the repeated administrative failures and lack of basic follow-through on a simple prescription, I did not feel confident proceeding with an invasive intervention. I cancelled the procedure. When I notified the surgical center of my cancellation, I was told they are "not at all affiliated" with Colorado Pain Care. However, publicly available information indicates that the co-founder and CEO of the practice is also associated with the surgical center where I was scheduled. And one of the office staff they transferred me to said she is a staff member of Colorado Pain Care and does office at the surgical center. This conflicting information raises additional concerns regarding transparency. I requested both the clinic and the surgical center email me a confirmation that the surgery was cancelled - given their lack of follow-through I wanted to make sure they weren't going to either charge me a no-show or try to pull one over on my insurance. But wait...there's more! A week before the surgery, I got a call from the surgical center confirming the surgery. When I read the cancellation email to them from their own staff member, they said they have no one on staff by that name. It literally came from someone with the business email address for Summit View Surgery Center. She then called me back to say, "oh yes...she does work here". I felt like I was in the twilight zone with everyone I met here. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing and neither one of them are putting a needle in my spine. A resounding vote of no confidence. The website emphasizes holistic, patient-centered care. Unfortunately, my experience felt transactional and procedure-driven rather than patient-focused. Not to mention a complete circus.
