Came during lunch, this place is located in basically an abandon lot near heb in meyerland plaza. Easy parking. Ordered off the lunch menu and I was full. Green tea to start, so hot. Didn't finish it. Miso soup yum. I ordered the spider roll (yum), spicy yellowtail (yum), and spicy tuna. Good for your average hole in the wall sushi place. No notes. Quick service.

Sakura Roll

Found Akiko on Yelp and wanted to try because it has such great reviews. I came around 4 pm on a Friday and sat at the bar. Service was fast and attentive, but it also wasn't super packed. Lots of specials on the board which I appreciated, but I ordered from the menu. Regular, house sake- Exactly as I would expect. Hot & Tasty. Dragonball Roll- The description says it has "red snapper, avocado& crabmeat". Normally, when a roll says "crabmeat" it is actual crab, not imitation. I was disappointed with this roll because if the crabmeat and the snapper. I wish I would have known it was cooked snapper (it was good, but when I go to sushi restaurants, I prefer raw sushi) Sakura Roll- Tuna, salmon and avocado lightly fried. This was an okay roll. I can't really articulate exactly what was missing, but it just wasn't my favorite. I ended up not ordering anything else because the food left some things to be desired for me. This could have been an off day, but unfortunately, not a place I see myself visiting again.

Went here spur of the moment, and pleasantly surprised! Portions were pretty book and overall tasted pretty good! Fun to go to once, but compared to some other sushi restraints a little further down Bellaire missed the mark. Fun to try new rolls here though! Price range was decent for what you get as well.

Real item I received. 9 pieces in total. I paid for 3 boxes of 6-piece.

Dishonesty in their Door Dash practice. They put 6-piece sashimi box on Door Dash, but in reality a 3-box order only comes with one box of 9-piece. Business like this should not survive in Houston area.

So funny The lycheetini wasn't make with Hanku vodka. just used the cheap one .When i try to ask the Bartender doesn't care about it.I'm not sure is the Bartender make mistake or the company mistake?

I came here back in February of this year. It was a nice sushi restaurant. Great food and service. Drinks were strong!

Roll Boat

We ordered this to go and put in specific instructions that they followed so well. But look at this sushi boat to go! (With avocado on the side due to allergy)

Volcano roll and crazy salmon roll
Mel S.

Amazing dishing and such helpful servers. The volcano roll is enormous and they light the mayonnaise on fire at your table on this roll. The crazy salmon roll spectacular the fish is super fresh the cream cheese definitely adds a nice touch to this item on the menu. The monkey brain outstanding! The spicy salmon on one side the avocado on the other side rolled up and fried with excellent sauces I believe in eel sauce and some other kind of sauce all over the top superb! And it's humongous just like all of the other roles definitely enough to share. The salmon dinner comes with sauteed vegetables and rice and soup and salad. After the rolls I couldn't even eat this part of the meal but the salmon was cooked nicely the vegetables were crispy and excellent the soup was a bit watered down as well as the dressing on the salad. The yellowtail sushi was exquisite there wasabi is not on the hot side so definitely get extra if you want to spice things up a little bit. Overall this place is an adorable small sushi spot tucked in the corner of the big shopping center you will enjoy if you have to wait a while to be seated the food is very much worth it enjoy

The quality of the food is surprisingly good and fresh for such a tiny place! If I want sushi close to home, this is where I go.

They let us in early so we didn't have to stand out in the cold. The restaurant is small and quiet, with the sushi bar in the middle, where it's easy to see everything is made. We opted for the sashimi special, the takoyaki, the 4 season roll, and the gyu suji. The sashimi special was delicious, great cuts, nice and tender. The 4 season roll was also great, with good cuts of fish, not too fishy. The takoyaki was perfectly crispy with a good filling and just the right amount of octopus. We accidentally let the gyu suji sit out too long so it got cold and gelatinous, but they were super nice about reheating it for us. It ended up not being for me, beef tendon is just a bit too cartilaginous for me. Overall, a great experience! Will definitely need to be back!

We did gwr the tonkatsu entree and it was a little disappointing - meat was tough and soggy on the outside where it's fried. Another down side is that - we also ordered another dish that never came out and were initially billed for it. Therefore - I recommend checking you got all your dishes and receipt Overall pretty good experience. I would come here for the fish if you're in the area.

It was little busy, but people were only waiting for tables for 10-15mins. The Lychee frozen margarita was delicious! I really liked they had a whole section for ramen add ons, so you can kind of customize your Ramen and get exactly what you want. The add-ons were also super reasonably priced!

The toast is also much more springy (in a good but surprising way) than fluffy or toasty, so take care when slicing. The central part of the toast was heavenly sweet. The ramen didn't impress me too much (I had the shoyu). It was ok but the toppings were eh, the chashu was tougher than it could be, and there was way too much noodles over everything else. My friend got the spicy tori paitan and liked it, though. Personally, I feel like they are an izakaya first and a ramenya second, to be honest. Great for late night snacks but rather average for ramen. My only complaint with the izakaya stuff was that the chicken meatballs could use more flavor in the balls themselves (they had to rely on the sauce and egg yolk that come with them).

The dessert was also such a fun way to end the meal! One thing I really appreciated was how accommodating they were with our requests. My husband's doctor has him doing a strict 2-week low-sodium diet, so we asked if they could put the sauces on the side. We're honestly not usually picky customers and felt a little bad asking for modifications, but the staff was completely understanding and happy to accommodate us. They brought everything on the side so he could control how much he used, which made dining out so much easier for us. It's those little things that really make a difference. We never felt like we were being difficult or asking for too much. Beautiful food, great presentation, and genuinely accommodating service. We'll definitely be back!

I waited a few months to try again and I was able to walk in for lunch. There was only one other patty there so it was pretty dead. They asked me for my phone number to seat me which I would have preferred to just give my number vs my personal info but I didn't fight them on it. I opted for the lux hand roll selection and a glass of white wine. Food was good, a tad pricey. I think it was about $100 for lunch. I would go again and maybe try something different but nothing super spectacular stood out. Felt a little sterile and without warmth.

My friends and I love to go for their once a month $5 nigiri night and never leave disappointed! When it comes to sushi, the limit does not exist, right? All of their nigiri and hand rolls can be ordered a la carte or if you're feeling a bit in decisive, they have several hand roll sets that come with 3-5 preselected options. On nigiri night, announced a few days in advance on their socials, almost all of their nigiri is $5. Chutoro, otoro, hamachi, all melt in your mouth quality, all included in the special. That's a yes from me. As I mentioned, my friends and I love to do this deal every month and every time the staff have all been super friendly and make you feel more than welcome, providing recommendations and stopping by frequently to take more orders. Norigami does have a hidden speakeasy, Hidden Bar, which can be accessed through an unmarked door at the front of the restaurant. The salmon tasted a little too fishy, and the hamachi hand roll fell short since I could barely taste the hamachi. However, the kanpachi was the standout of the night!
