The person that did my service did not speak English and this kind of took away from my experience, she was so sweet but we had no way of communicating with each other, she had to pull one of the other techs over to translate. I've never experienced this before, so for me it was a bit frustrating even though she was so nice and did a great job. Because of the language barrier I was unable to get a real time cost estimate of the extra fees and was just taken a back at my total. And because service aren't itemized on the receipt, I couldn't really tell what cost what outside of the basic service like my pedicure. Anyway, service was great but I think I would prefer to be serviced by someone I can speak to, so there is a clear understanding of what I am asking to be done and what costs if any would be associated with it. I went back to the front desk and explained that I needed to leave within the next 20 minutes, which was already later than I originally planned. Again, I was reassured that someone was coming immediately. At that point, they suggested I downgrade to the classic pedicure so it could be completed within my timeframe. A woman named Wendy finally came over, started setting up the station, then told me she needed to come back. After another 10 minutes passed and I again expressed frustration to the front desk, she finally returned. Even then, instead of beginning the pedicure, she spent time on the phone while the water was running. The actual pedicure itself was rushed and poor quality. My feet were barely scrubbed, and the French tip was done so poorly that another employee had to step in and finish it. What frustrates me most is that I ended up leaving two full hours after I originally arrived, paid $60, and still did not receive a quality service. I have frequented this salon before for pedicures, and this is the first time I have had such a negative experience. The biggest issue was the lack of honesty and communication from the front desk at the beginning. If I had simply been told that the salon was extremely busy and there was no guarantee I could be seen quickly, I would have left, handled what I needed to do, and come back another time. Instead, I was repeatedly reassured just to sit there waiting for two hours. Sadly, after this experience, they will not be receiving my business again.

They were rough handling my hands, used a drill bit at 10 speed to remove the nail polish. They only lowered the speed of the drill bit at towards the end because I was crying. I don't recommend anyone get a gel manicure by this particular staff member. Also, when applying the gel polish and using the LED light, the light instantly began to burn due to improper application of the gel polish.

For this appointment, I scheduled in advance in order to get my favorite nail tech. I learned my lesson before when I walked in and had to go with another nail tech because she wasn't available. While I waited for her, Jason offered to take my nails which he did, no problem. After finishing he placed a sheet of paper in front of me filled with handwritten names and phone numbers. He pointed to my name and asked if that was me. I happily replied yes when I recognized my phone number. He then proceeded to tell me that I had written a bad review and I needed to take it down. Taken aback I asked him to repeat it. He did. I informed him that my review honestly captured my experience and I was happy to update it. I asked him if he addressed my concerns. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or even apologizing, he continued to state that I needed to take my review down. At this point I felt bullied because I realized that this was likely something he has done before which means that the reviews are not an honest reflection of people's experiences. He went on to tell me that I could not be serviced unless I took the review down. I asked how much I owed him for taking my nails off and promptly paid him cash. I then walked out and headed to the new nail salon that just opened by my house. I hadn't gone there yet because I was willing to drive the 30 minutes to come here. This was my last trip to Concord Nail Spa. I'm very disappointed and shocked to learn that Jason, the owner bullies people into writing the reviews that he wants. I will say that after going there for about a year, this was my first bad experience, so I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt. I went in on a Sunday and waited almost an hour to be seen after being told the wait would only be about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, my gel polish started coming off within 24 hours. I went back to the salon, and the manager asked if it had been 48 hours. Her son immediately responded, "No," and even remembered that I had just been there recently. Needless to say, they fixed my nails, and I left thinking everything was taken care of and that I would have nice polish for my upcoming trip. Well... the very next day, while in Mexico, I got in the pool for maybe 10 minutes, and multiple toes were already missing polish. By the third day of my trip, I had NO polish left on my toes. When I called the salon to discuss what happened, I was told that it had been more than 48 hours and that I would have to pay for a "new" service. At this point, it's not even about the money--it's about doing what's right. As a returning customer of a year, I expected better customer service and for the salon to stand behind its work, especially when the same issue had already happened once before. Needless to say, I'm now looking for a new salon--one that understands that sometimes wrong is wrong and values its returning customers.
