My service at NP nails was great. The salon is clean, they offer you something to drink. Most of the staff is polite. The person that did my service did not speak English and this kind of took away from my experience, she was so sweet but we had no way of communicating with each other, she had to pull one of the other techs over to translate. I've never experienced this before, so for me it was a bit frustrating even though she was so nice and did a great job. Because of the language barrier I was unable to get a real time cost estimate of the extra fees and was just taken a back at my total. And because service aren't itemized on the receipt, I couldn't really tell what cost what outside of the basic service like my pedicure. Anyway, service was great but I think I would prefer to be serviced by someone I can speak to, so there is a clear understanding of what I am asking to be done and what costs if any would be associated with it. Friendly staff and no wait time. They work quite fast and rushed that you don't feel valued. One person started my nails and then another person finished it up. Because of this, the nails on my right hand look narrower than my left hand. Can't tell unless you actually put my hands together but it is visible when doing so and it didn't give me that feel that they were attuned with their client. I was so easily disposed to a next nail tech who came in and without saying a word started working on my nails rather quickly. The customer service is what's saving this place. Everyone seems to be friendly, and they offer snacks/drinks. But the quality of the work isn't up to par. My first time going, I noticed that they used tools that were not new. The person doing my toes also snagged on my skin instead of simply clipping it (you're not supposed to snag or pull on dead cuticles, that only causes more problems -- professionals know what I'm talking about)! Lastly, this place will nickel and dime you. A basic pedicure starts around $35 but it doesn't come with basic pedicure experience. I was also charged $7 for my nails to be buffed which I didn't see on the menu. Pros: they offer a variety of services, including lashes, brows, waxing, etc. Usually no wait time. I love a nail salon that is open on Sunday! It was so easy to book an appointment online. I got there right at 11 and was scheduled for a gel polish change with Linda. The space is bright and clean, tucked away in a nice shopping center with plenty of convenient parking lot. Upon my arrival, I was offered a book with color choices. I made my selection and was seated and my service began right away. The staff is all very friendly and Linda is super kind and gentle with her manicures. This was probably my second GelX set ever (for this reason) and I am never getting this sh*t again! The girl that did my nails is the sister of the owner (her words) and she typically only takes in "her" clientele and she's usually booked up. I was a walk-in on a random day and she took me. She made that very clear to me for reasons I didn't even care for because I didn't get what I wanted anyway. All the while, she - in summary - said she was the best one there and pretty much shat on everyone else being subpar in comparison. Don't get me wrong! The design looks good! BUT... I like what I like and it's been working to me up until having to switch salons lately! My last salon would do hard builder gel for me, but when I got into designs, they couldn't do design work. So I've been looking for a new nail salon and came across this one. However, I'm getting frustrated because every time I ask for what I like, no matter where I go, techs try to talk me into something else. Upon getting sick of bouncing around, her reassuring me that these would be durable, etc., I just crashed out and let her. She was pretty confident about her work product. My typical, natural nail length is perfect for me. It's just that my index fingers started growing more downward, instead of straight out like my other fingers. She convinced me that doing a GelX set would fix this if we cut my nails down (typically I'm using my own nails and never tips something else that is important)! The extra gel on the bottom was not cute. And when I asked her to file it down because it was chunky, she tried to blame it on my index fingers growing different from my other fingers, and I was like... "No, ALL of them have this thick, ugly bottom?!" She ended up filing them down, but I'm really sick of going somewhere and asking for something and then being talked into something different that never ends up being at all like what I asked for! I'm always disappointed! For instance, I asked her if these would not pop off since they were tips. She said no. I literally have both my thumbnails here, about to glue them back on like I wish people would just say that they can't do something versus trying to steer me into something else! In addition to the output, her prep was sloppy. My nails, which were cut down by her, weren't even cut or prepared in a way that made the undersides look even halfway decent upon my nails being finished. Uneven. There was no hand moisturizing, hand massage, or typical manicure style treatment, even though this service costs a ton of money. In the end, I spent over $110 dollars on nails that didn't even last me a solid two weeks. However, I just found out about the 14-day coverage policy today (my day 13 since getting them done). If I can find the time to get over there, I will be returning for a fix and never again for anything else. I can't stand when a nail tech talks badly about coworkers and is still not up to par either. The vibe is that of an older salon - nothing but a Roku sleep screen on the tv. No drinks offered; cold Hershey kisses from a fridge were brought around. Small salon that's old-fashioned. read more

I have been desperately searching for a nail salon since my recent move to NC. After trying several local nail spas in my area I decided to try a spot a little further away. I was NOT disappointed. I visited on a Sunday, after the Christmas holiday , without an appointment, and was greeted and seated rather quickly. Now if you don't know most of the nail salons in the Charlotte area are closed on Sunday. So needless to say it was very busy. However, my nail tech Mike took his time and paid attention to detail. He checked in throughout the process of getting an acrylic and gel manicure to make sure I was satisfied. I was even offered a beverage. He asked my preferred nail shape and length and did his best to make me happy! After the services were done Mike and another Tech asked about my experience and wanted to be sure I was satisfied. They even have a 14 day satisfaction guarantee. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. The salon is clean and there's a huge variety of nail colors and services. I love that I didn't feel rushed. And after paying $53 which I feel was very inexpensive compared to the other salons, I knew right away that this would be my new nail spa! I'm giving 4 stars only because I will return to do pedicure and waxing and a follow up review! Consistency is key! Hope to give 5 stars next time! read more

They say "oh you can come in to repair any nails if it's within 14 days" so I came in bc it's only been 11 days and 6 nails were already chipped and they treated me like crap! This salon is one of the best in the city! It's small and not a lot of thrills but that's because they put the focus on the customer and not the decor. They are super friendly and warm and laughter can be heard in the salon all the time. I've been coming here for years now because they are the first I've found that don't price gouge and offer regular discounts and it's quality every time. You gotta come in and have a lavender pedicure at the very least and try it out for yourself Today I came in the salon not having any clue what I wanted. I normally have tons of ideas and Mina delivers on them every single time but this time I had nada and I just trusted her vision and the video I attached is what she came up with! Great nail salon. I walked in and was immediately greeted and sat for a pedicure. This is a cute little shop. Nothing over the top, but nicely decorated and it felt clean. I rather this ambiance instead of a salon with all frills, and Instagram ready for photos, but terrible service. I was offered water or soda. The background music was a great variety playlist of old-school songs. My pedicure person was nice and friendly. She took her time and gave me the best pedicure. She actually massaged my feet and legs, no tap tap, and done. She was tiny, but she had great technique and pressure. Hours later, my feet still felt good and looked conditioned. Just on a spare of the moment I decided to get a pedicure & a possible fill in for my birthday weekend. I gave NP a call & asked if an appointment was needed to come in. She (the owner) asked how far I was & I stated just 10 minutes away so she said I could walk-in. Now looking back I'm trying to figure out why because the shop was EMPTY & no one came to be serviced while I was there. Moving forward, upon arrival my temperature was taking which I also had to right down on the consent form. Besides having to wear a mask, using hand sanitizer was required before walking back. The shop consisted of 1 tech & the manager. Classic Pedicure ($32) - I was going based off pricing posted by previous customers but it seems they definitely went up on their pricing. However, Linh took her time & did everything perfect. Acrylic Fill, Gel Color & Reshaping ($35) - Linh did quite well although not as talkative unless spoken to. Seeing as I paid $35 for my original set, I'll stick to the location/tech who did them. Do keep in mind, if you plan to pay with a credit/debit card you will be charged an extra .75 -- why? I'm sure their reason is to make up for the fee they are getting charged but .75, really? If you get a service done after hours -- not sure why or how you could if their closed but they charge an extra $5. Seeing as Linh was the only tech working I'm sure there is quite some pressure on her but not once did she seem overwhelmed. The manager doesn't have much of a professional upbeat personality but I'm not sure I've met one in Charlotte who does. Now would I recommend them? Eh, sure if your in the area. read more

Although the nail techs at this salon are sweet and do a good job on manicures (not as good at pedicures, especially painting the toes), I must caution everyone that NP Nails & Spa does not sterilize their implements. I got a nasty infection on my thumb called "paronychia" a few days after getting my nails done here. My doctor immediately asked if I'd recently had my nails done. It was the most painful infection. I ended up having to go to urgent care to get the thumb incisioned and drained and couldn't use my hand properly for over 1 week. Not to mention cost of 2 medical appointments, antibiotics and lost productivity for days. The top of the nail separated from the nail bed and I'll have to wait many months for a new nail to grow in. If you do go to this salon, PLEASE make sure implements come out of a sterile pack or at the very least that they spray them down with alcohol. I was the unlucky one for not noticing they didn't do this. I was used to it being done in my home state and being new to Charlotte, just assumed nail salons here did the right thing. Lesson learned the hard way! read more

They have a variety of colors, and notably DND. They have a luxury pedicure menu and can do regular nail polish, Gel, or Dip. They also can do designs, and all of the fun embellishments. I hate that I didn't remember to get the nail tech's nail, but she took her time and wasn't too harsh on my cuticles as I've horrible experiences with being poked and jabbed in the past.
