Whilst in Charlotte preparing for an interview, I decided to stop here for some relaxation. I was apprehensive at first from previous reviews, but I had an awesome experience. This was a Monday so it was very slow, but the girl took her time and made sure I was thoroughly satisfied- down to the temperature of my water. She did my eyebrows immaculate the FIRST time. I couldn't ask for a better experience! Once I relocate to Charlotte, I will definitely be back!! Good area, fast service, reasonable prices ! read more

Watch out for upcharges without warning! This set was $100 before tip. I even said I didn't need the chrome from a picture I showed them and they said they would still do it without mentioning it was $15 more amongst other upcharges. I gave 3 stars bc my nails do look nice. read more

Where do I start... the technical (don't know her name cause she didn't answer when I asked) was VERY distracted. Looking around. Staring at the clock. Communicating with other employees. Watching people come in and out. She exfoliated my feet without looking at them. VERY uncomfortable. She made a joke when I was squirming. Like 'oh you ticklish.' No, it hurts!! And then comes the painting. She took 25 minutes to paint my toes and then had to redo the big toe four times because she kept knocking into it. I left with toes that looked like a four-year-old painted them not someone that I was paying $40. The person who was checking people in was very friendly yet when I told him I was disappointed in my service he didn't seem too interested. I personally won't be back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. read more

Great customer service. Prices are reasonable and wine was served. The $30 pedi was worth the price and came with the paraffin wax. I will have to go back for them to repaint my toes as the quality of the paint was not that great . Overall I would go again. read more

Bad customer service. I'm not sure if management changed but I used to come here all the time and could go to anyone. I had one person doing my toes and one doing my nails. When i told the person doing my nails that she had filed them crooked, she agreed and fixed it. (The pictures are the fixed version BTW). The tech doing my feet told me to double check my toes before she painted it because she wouldn't fix it. That really irritated me. Why would you not fix something if you do it wrong? Take a look at the pics and judge for yourself. I'll get my 9 year old daughter to do it for free. I was charged full price and was told that if even they didn't paint it, they would charge full price. That's odd not to fix it. Needless to say, I won't return. read more

This place is the definition of continuous evolution! I used to go here about two years ago and now every time that I go they always update the store to best suit their customers and it's amazing! Just about every nail tech there is very exceptional at their job they focus very much on making sure each of them are trained in the most popular and updated nail designs & techniques. On occasion it can be so busy that it's annoying because there's only so many employees, however with a decent amount of patience you are sure to get a satisfactory service. read more

Avoid this place. Pick anywhere else. Staff is worn and don't want to converse. They don't want to be bothered and don't care is they have your business or not. Place looks/feels dingy. They speak a Different language which Is not the issue but then look at you after they converse. Like they are talking about you. I guess they are used to a certain clientele and I am an outsider. I went to JV nails a total of 3 times. My first experience was good and was with a woman. The next two visits were with George. The second time my nail had lifted and with my busy life style i was not able to return to have it fixed. The third time was the icing on the cake. He argued with my requests to file my nails how I wanted them. The application job of my SNS ($40) was not good and I've had two nails crack after just 3 days. I WILL NOT RETURN HERE!! read more

I spent days deciding on a salon in my area and this is where I decided to go. The personalities were as dry as the Sahara Desert. They work fast, the acrylic was thin and flat. I left there feeling like I wanted to go somewhere else and start over with a new set. Lesson learned, I will never go back to this place. read more

Eureka! I've finally found a nail spot that I love and enjoy going to that's near my home. I've been here three times and I've had a different nail technician each time. It impressed me that each one is fully capable to do whatever kind of design(s) (not usually the norm at most nail salons) and shape your nails beautifully. Also of note, every time I've been here there's always a demand for eyebrow waxing. I overheard a woman exclaim how she ONLY allows the JV staff to touch her eyebrows. The staff is so friendly and truly make coming there a pleasure. read more

Very nice. Lots of SNS and gel colors. This was my first time getting SNS and it won't be my last. I will be back. They also did my gel p Update: I came back to get a fill on my SNS for my birthday and drove 40 minutes because I loved my first set and when I got there I asked a question about acrylic nails and the what designs you can get with Sns. I ended up getting an attitude from here with a lot of huffing and puffing. She started taking the nails off but I ended up leaving because I wasn't going to pay for the attitude and I wasn't her attitude ruin my birthday weekend. The salon is really quick and they don't keep you waiting long. I love getting my eyebrows done here. They wax them with a wax pen and then fill them in with make up. They normally always offer you a drink during your service also. (Wine soda or water). I just wish they had a more vibrant selection of colors. read more

They took 20 mins to put gel nail polish on and was $35 and it's lasted 1 week before I had to take it off. Took them 10 min to take it off. Not the best business. They need take their time. read more

Will never return to this salon again. Went there a week and a half ago and got the powder dip. That went fine. Nothing spectacular but fine. I came back today to get the powder dip removed and wanted a regular manicure as I didn't want to damage my nails any more. First of all the man who did my nails, instead of soaking off the dip, cut the corner of my nail then used an acrylic nail to PRY OFF the powder dip nail. Ripping off a decent amount of my fingernail along with it. He started to do this again with the next nail and I asked him if he could soak them off instead since ripping them off was clearly destroying my nails. He obliged but instead of soaking them, then scraping the residue off (like every other nail salon I've ever been to) he used the filing drill on all my nails, filing off the residue and a decent portion of my actual nails. Not even to mention nicking my skin multiple times. During all of this he continually tried to talk me into gel, since my nails were so thin...first of all I have been getting regular manicures for years. My last gel mani was in December and since then I've only put regular polish on my nails. They were healthy and long before I got the powder dip. Now after this absolute hack job my nails are so thin they hurt when I hit them on things. He started to paint my nails the color I picked and I was so upset (and in pain bc of all the cuts on my skin and the stinging that occurred anytime he put anything on my fingers) that I ended up telling him I was all set and was just going to leave them natural and I left the salon. The best part of the entire debacle is likely that on SOME nails I still have powder dip residue that's just been filed down into my nail bed even more. I'll be dealing with the repercussions of this manicure for months to come. Starting with having to order nail strengthener today. I repeat. Do not go to this salon. read more

This was my second experience at JV Nails. Both times I was seated immediately with no wait! During both of my visits, the salon had a quiet atmosphere with less hustle and bustle than other surrounding salons I have been to. Anne did my nails last time and today (I think she is one of the only technicians who does SNS). She is very nice, takes her time, and is enjoyable to interact with. I was offered water, soda, or wine while my polish was soaking off. Overall, I enjoy this salon and have received good service here. My only disappointment was when I tried to use the Yelp check-in offer for $35 for SNS today and was told that offer is no longer accepted. I was told that management just forgot to take that offer down. So, I paid $40 instead of $35 (not including tip).....not a huge deal, but always nice to save a few bucks and for businesses to honor their advertisements! read more

They are always running a special and they have TONS and TONS of colors to select from! They even have 280 SNS colors which is rare at any nail salon!!! Years later I decided to give this place another chance since they have had a chance of management. They remodeled a lot since the last time I was there and while there I had a pretty ok experience I even said that I may start going here again. I got white sns dip powder on my nails and blue regular polish on my toes. One week later my nails are yellow instead of white and starting to crack not to sure as to why. My toe nail polish is a bit sticky and has turned almost black even after I tried to use alcohol to clean them and see if it would help any again not to sure what happened as I've never had anything like this happen to my pedicures. The service was ok but unfortunately it doesn't seem like their products are good quality. I will continue to drive out of my way to avoid this place. read more

I went in on Thursday. I walked in a man asked how could he help. I showed him two different designs I would like. He says pick out a color. Why? I just showed him the color I wanted. So he hands me a basket with what seemed to be 1000 different polishes and designs. Huh? He finally sits down and starts talking about my small nail bed. OK so he starts messing with his phone. Throughout the time he does my nails he's not talking but steady looking at his phone. I was not a fan of this place. Needless to say my nails don't look like either of the two designs and shapes I showed him. This was a waste of time and money. I should have taken the reviews seriously. I think this is really great, as it shows how the technician put importance on quality and checking to confirm if the clients expectations are met. The salon is clean and nicely decorated. It's in a great location too. Shout-out to my nail technician - Seak, she is highly skilled, sensitive to clients needs, and has a "light touch". I would certainly recommend and return to this nail salon.

She…read morewanted the entire $765 up front for scheduling through the year (once a month for the remainder of the year). I thought that was odd - why not pay as you go? - but she told me that is how she does business and she assured me that if my 91 year old uncle died, she would refund the money fully for appointments not used. Then in September 2023 she sent an email about scheduling for 2024 and I had to schedule immediately (and pay) for the next year because she said that appointments were almost full. My then 92 year old uncle only wanted every other month appointments so I paid $620 for 2024. Unfortunately, my uncle died before using his 2024 appointments. Although Melissa asked me to give her two months for a refund, which I did, and she sent me a photo of the refund precessing a month ago - still no refund and only long, dramatic diatribes instead from her. This was my experience and I would not recommend this company and would not want other customers to fight for refunds and deal with all of this nonsense. I believe she just got back from a month long vacation which makes it worse. I hope this helps others who may be thinking of using her services.
