Treated myself to some much needed self care this past Saturday at Vluxe Signature Spa in Concord. To my surprise this spot is Black woman owned!!! Super cool. It is beautifully decorated and had great relaxing vibes. Phyllis, my massage therapist performed a very soothing and relaxing 80 minute deep tissue massage. I legit fell asleep 3 times and woke myself up with snores LOL. I didn't even realize I was falling asleep!!! This was such a treat. Everyone I encountered was super nice and helpful. I only had 2 complaints about my experience: one was the massage technique wasn't my favorite. There was a lot of long slow motions, and maybe that's what a deep tissue massage is, so no knock to my massage therapist (she was very firm just like I like), I was just hoping for more massaging than slow rubbing. But she was great! My other complaint was that the waiting area called "The Sanctuary" was so peaceful...until a man in only a rob walked in, shortly after his lady friend came in with only a robe on and sat on his lap and kissed him. It's a small room so they were probably like 3 feet away from me. It was pretty uncomfortable to say the least. It just seemed odd to have folks together like that. Naked people kissing in such close proximity just wasn't on my relaxation list for the day. Nonetheless, I left feeling super relaxed and passed out as soon as I got home. Thanks to Groupon I found out about Vluxe and ordered a pamper package that included a 1 hour facial and a 30 minute massage that upgraded to 1 hour for an addition $30. I had an early morning appointment and after a short wait my massage was started and it was a really good experience.....full body and it included a foot scrub. The facial was amazing and informative as I have dry and sensitive skin and Sarah asked lots of questions and gave me lots of info to better take care of my skin. read more

I needed a relaxing day from work since I work behind a desk all day and my shoulders were very stiff. Upon arrival, Berkeley brought me a mimosa to start the day while I waited in the quiet room. The spa is decorated very beautifully. I started off with a facial and Lindsay was a great esthetician. She made it very relaxing and explained what I needed to do to keep up with my facial care. Next, I did a massage with Lora. Lora is a deep tissue massage therapist and she was able to get all the knots out of my shoulders. I felt super relaxed after the massage. I was experimenting on some lash options before my wedding and found VLUXE! This was my first lash lift and I absolutely loved it! The staff and front desk were so welcoming and friendly. Other clients in the waiting room were also very friendly and most were there for the first time too. They offered water and mimosas and since I am newly engaged they even got me a special mimosa glass that said "bride" on it. So thoughtful and sweet of them. Angela did my lash lift and was so sweet and walked me through everything about the procedure. She was so funny and great to talk with throughout the procedure. I definitely will be coming back and cannot recommend Angela enough! read more

Things I loved: the soothing music being played through out the spa, the locker area to secure belongings that includes a shower with yummy smelling lotions and potions to try. I loved the fluffy bathrobes and the heated massage bed. The lounge was beautiful and my therapist was very knowledgeable and personable. Thing I do not like: they are closed Sunday through Wednesday. They have a 24 hour cancellation period or they charge you for the service. Why does this bother me? Because you are unable to reach anyone to cancel a Wednesday appointment 24 hours in advance. You would have to cancel on Saturday. I feel as this is a loop hole to strictly benefit them as a business. But then again business is just business and it shouldn't be taken personal. read more

I went for lashes and requested volume. I've had lashes for nearly 4 years so I understand this topic. Their volume has 2 lashes per when most fans are 4-6 for volume price extensions. I discussed prior to going to the salon I was a volume / dramatic fill. The place was clean and very spa like. People were kind however the art of lashes was not here. I expressed I felt there were gaps and not volume. I was given a discount for compensation from $109 to $95. Pricier fill I've had and easily the worst fill. read more

I pre-paid for a massage from this business. They called me a few hours before my massage to let me know their employee wouldn't be in that day and there was no one else available. Disappointing, but ok. I asked for a refund, rather than rescheduling and, after 2 full weeks, they continue to refuse. I have filed a chargeback with my bank to try and get my money back. The lash lady was absolutely amazing, let me get as comfortable as I wanted and walked me through everything since it was my first time getting lashes! She asked me what kind of lashes I wanted, but I knew she would know which was best so I let her work her magic! It took about 1.5 hours, which is amazing for a full set and she was done with a BEAUTIFUL result at the end and I was blown away by how amazing they looked. This place is really nice! Very dim lighting and spa music through the spa! Love how they offered a sanctuary room! Love how they have Morocan Oil hair products in the shower! Due to the nature of my work I have to have regular massages and I've very selective. My experience was awesome. Closest in comparison to the very exclusive 5 star Umstead Spa And Hotel in Raleigh which I loved and that says a lot.
