I finally told her I had to leave because I had a doctor's appointment in Charlotte at 4:00 p.m. and I live in Gastonia, so I needed time to get there. At that point, she said, "I'm ready for you now," but by then it was too late. I had booked an appointment for a reason, and my time wasn't respected. The lack of honesty about Kathy and the long wait despite having an appointment made for a very disappointing experience. She didn't even offer me a discount so I give a neg start I would. Unfortunately, that was far from the truth. I sat in the chair for almost 50 minutes without anyone starting my service. I went back to the front desk and explained that I needed to leave within the next 20 minutes, which was already later than I originally planned. Again, I was reassured that someone was coming immediately. At that point, they suggested I downgrade to the classic pedicure so it could be completed within my timeframe. A woman named Wendy finally came over, started setting up the station, then told me she needed to come back. After another 10 minutes passed and I again expressed frustration to the front desk, she finally returned. Even then, instead of beginning the pedicure, she spent time on the phone while the water was running. The actual pedicure itself was rushed and poor quality. My feet were barely scrubbed, and the French tip was done so poorly that another employee had to step in and finish it. What frustrates me most is that I ended up leaving two full hours after I originally arrived, paid $60, and still did not receive a quality service. I have frequented this salon before for pedicures, and this is the first time I have had such a negative experience. The biggest issue was the lack of honesty and communication from the front desk at the beginning. If I had simply been told that the salon was extremely busy and there was no guarantee I could be seen quickly, I would have left, handled what I needed to do, and come back another time. Instead, I was repeatedly reassured just to sit there waiting for two hours. Sadly, after this experience, they will not be receiving my business again.

For this appointment, I scheduled in advance in order to get my favorite nail tech. I learned my lesson before when I walked in and had to go with another nail tech because she wasn't available. While I waited for her, Jason offered to take my nails which he did, no problem. After finishing he placed a sheet of paper in front of me filled with handwritten names and phone numbers. He pointed to my name and asked if that was me. I happily replied yes when I recognized my phone number. He then proceeded to tell me that I had written a bad review and I needed to take it down. Taken aback I asked him to repeat it. He did. I informed him that my review honestly captured my experience and I was happy to update it. I asked him if he addressed my concerns. Rather than acknowledging my concerns or even apologizing, he continued to state that I needed to take my review down. At this point I felt bullied because I realized that this was likely something he has done before which means that the reviews are not an honest reflection of people's experiences. He went on to tell me that I could not be serviced unless I took the review down. I asked how much I owed him for taking my nails off and promptly paid him cash. I then walked out and headed to the new nail salon that just opened by my house. I hadn't gone there yet because I was willing to drive the 30 minutes to come here. This was my last trip to Concord Nail Spa. I'm very disappointed and shocked to learn that Jason, the owner bullies people into writing the reviews that he wants. He said that I should have come to him first and I actually agree with him. Had he responded to my concerns I would have done an update acknowledging that. Instead, I'm documenting this experience.
