I read the great reviews and decided to book a couple's massage for my husband and myself. It was the first time in months that we able to arrange for someone else to help with our kids. I got him all pumped up for this and when we got there? The gentleman was totally confused at why we were there. He explained that he didn't read the booking and wasn't able to do a couples massage since he had someone right after the appointment. It might be the best massage on earth but we won't ever know because they use a booking app that they don't read. Will definitely go elsewhere in the future. Super unprofessional and the reaction by the massage therapist was really flippant like it didn't matter. This was going to be my husband's father's day treat since we spent the actual weeks around father's day in the hospital with our daughter so this was just a huge bummer. read more

Akesis Massage - Exactly how it shows in the app so it seems pretty clear what was booked? - Massage Therapy Near Me - Kent, Washington

Michael was great. It.was my wife and I anniversary so we decided to get massages but could only book 1 for the day but when we got there he took us both even though his hands would suffer for it. The massage itself was great. My entire body is very sore like I'm made up of 1 gigantic bruise so I was expecting it to be a really painful massage. In a few areas it was but over all it was far less painful than I imagined. I had no pain afterwards though. The guy either has magic fingers or is just THAT skilled. I got this massage 3 days ago and have for the first time in literal years slept through the entire night without waking up. We conversed throughout the entire massage. I'm sure some people may want to sit in quiet but not me. TLDR; Best of the best masseuse. Highly recommend. He's very interactive with his clients which I enjoy. read more

Best. Massage. Ever. It takes a straight-talking, gun-toting, motorbike-riding 255 pound Texan to do it right. Ok, he wasn't toting a gun during the massage. And he can be incredibly gentle, and remarkably skillful at finding all the sore muscles just by feel. I've had dozens of massages over the years. I've never gotten up from the table so refreshed and rejuvenated. Be prepared...he will push the 9-out-of-10 pain level several times during your massage, if you'll let him, to really make a difference. And he's massively strong and does so easily. He also happens to have the best stereo speakers I've ever seen in a massage studio, standing three feet tall. Not a necessity, but a great touch. read more

I have been going to Akesis since 2016 and I can't believe I haven't wrote a review yet. Michael's technique is like no other and honestly, I walk away 100% satisfied every single time! We have amazing conversations and he makes me feel so welcome. If I ever moved out of Washington, I'd definitely come back to visit just to get a massage at Akesis. There's really no point in continuing your search, you've found the best!! read more

So I have been going to seattle for the past couple years because my brother lives there. So on a vacation, I like to relax and I have been wanting to get a legit deep tissue massage. My shoulders and neck have been very stiff and definitely needed someone to really get in there and relax my muscles (haha). So I told my brother that we should get massages and his awesome girlfriend found this place. It had glowing reviews and was not that far from their place. So this place is located in the Kent valley, not that far from seattle. This place can be hard to find. It's located in the leasing office of an apartment complex that looks like a bavarian town (haha). You will turn into the apartment complex and there are signs on the side but they can be easy to miss but just keep going until you get to the leasing office. The place is really relaxing, there's relaxing music and the office smells amazing! Michael is a very friendly person, funny, and professional guy. The massage was amazingggggg, best massage ever! Man, Michael really got into my back and it was a LEGIT deep tissue massage. He really dug into my muscles and it was a good pain (haha). I have been needing, wanting and looking for someone to give me a really great tissue massage, sadly for me he's in WA. He is very open and tells you what he's going to do so you feel comfortable. Sometimes it can be weird being naked with a total stranger, massaging you but he makes it a very safe and comfortable experience. He is the only one there because he has had a bit of trouble finding people that have strong thumbs (haha). So he can get pretty booked. I went for 1 hour and it was not enough! The massage is soooooo awesome that honestly, you lose track of time and it feels like it was not enough. The next time I'm in WA, I must book at least a 2 hour massage lol read more

I've been here five times so far and all experiences have been great! My first visit was prompted by a Groupon deal and I made an appointment with Sandi. I called and couldn't get through the first time (she probably had a client) so I left a voicemail saying I wanted to schedule a massage, and I got a call back the same day and booked it. I love that this place has very flexible hours and days of the week which makes it easy to find a time that works! Sandi gave me detailed instructions about how to find the place. The location is in the same building as the leasing office for the surrounding condos, so be sure to listen to her instructions when you make your appointment and follow the signs in. Once you see the signs, they are easy to follow as you drive through the parking lot. You'll see a large Leasing Office sign, and then on the door it says Akesis massage. You go right upstairs and there's a waiting area if you're early, restroom in the hallway to the right, and the two Akesis massage rooms. I have a lot of discomfort in my neck, shoulders, and arms from working at a desk all day and typing/mousing repetitively. I also have some discomfort in my hips due to sitting and crossing my legs all the time as well. In the first visit, I made sure to arrive a little early to fill out the forms and noted my concern areas. Then Sandi welcomed me in, we chatted about what experiences I've had in the past and what I was looking for. Throughout the massage, she was very intuitive, focusing on my concern areas, and also areas where she felt some TLC was needed. The 60 minutes flew by and this was the first place in 3 years that I actually found I liked so I immediately signed up for their membership! I came back for the second time today (called to book it around lunch time and got in for an appointment after work) and got an extra 30 minutes free tacked on due to the membership! Sandi was great again, working on my problem areas, and also chit-chatting between points where I almost dozed off because I was so relaxed! If you live in the Kent/Renton area, this is a very convenient place that you can easily find, get parking, schedule appointments, etc. I highly recommend Akesis massage as customer service and the massages have been excellent so far! -- Just got a couples massage with my boyfriend and it was a great way to end our weekend! read more

Michael @ Akesis Massage is literally the best massage I have ever had. I have been suffering from Pelvic Floor dysfunction, piriformus syndrome, and sciatica, all of which give me the nice burning sensation when I sit! Michael is the only one out of countless PT, Chiropractors and other Massage Therapists that has been able to get deep into these areas and release all of this tension and muscle spasm. He's extremely professional and courteous, and he loves his job and is passionate about helping people. He gets very busy and he will tell you to book online through his app, it shows all of his appointments, and I booked with him and I am Never going anywhere else. I highly recommend giving him an opportunity to help you and I am never going anywhere else! His office is located in an apartment complex above the leasing office on site, with waiting room and a very comfortable table and room. Thank you Akesis! read more

One of the best massages I've had in a long time, and I've gotten massages 1-2x a month now for the past 10 years. I recently moved to Kent and found Michael and Akesis and I am so happy! The first session I went to go see him for 90 minutes and it was really great, but I didn't realize how good until about 1-2 days after when my muscles were completely relaxed because of his work. I don't know how he did it but my lower back pain was completely gone and I have the worst lower back pain! I am going to be back for sure. I have my next appointment already booked. read more

Best deep tissue massage around. Great massage and best value in town! Michael changes how I feel for the better every visit. After Last Thursday's massage the pain in my hands, neck, back, hip and the headache were gone! He finds problem spots and works them out. Thanks again Michael Mike read more

I want to begin this with saying that Michael provided me with the best professional massage I have ever received and that is where the 1 star comes from I was not expecting to be quizzed on my personal preference to wear a mask to the appointment. When he said it was OK by him to remove it, I asked if he had been vaccinated to which he responded "No". I should have taken that red flag and ran with it but instead I proceeded with the massage. During the entirety of my time on the table, Michael projected his own personal experiences with COVID, how he doesn't believe it and that we should all follow QAnon's suggestions and that he was a believer. He repeatedly brought up how he has multiple clients that are nurses that have told him the "inside story" about COVID and how it isn't as bad as they say. That when people were crying out for help, it was really just a lie that they were getting paid to tell. That doctors were making money by getting people vaccinated. I have personally lost a lot of people to COVID in this past year or so and NONE of what he blabbered on about sat well with me If he wasn't talking about that subject, he was berating and insulting his ex-wife and telling me what a horrible person she was. Ex or not, I am a first time client who does not know you. Why are you sharing this with me?! Whatever the stressors were in your previous marriage, I don't believe that slandering her name to anyone and everyone earns any respect I will not be returning for another massage. I respect everyone's right to a different opinion but this is supposed to be a relaxing experience. I do not wish to discuss politics, pandemics and ex wives during it read more

Had my first massage with Michael today. He did an amazing job finding just the areas I needed worked on, using new techniques and deep tissue. I haven't felt this much benefit from a massage in a long time, if ever. He's also great at distracting you, to keep your mind off of the area he's working that might be painful :) Definitely recommend! read more

After buying a 1 hour session from Amazon Local, I made an appointment with Sandi. I've been having problems with back pain and was seeing a chiropractor but was wanting a massage to help things along. I was a little wary since I could not find a single review online that wasn't on the main website and then saw that the address led me to an apartment complex. I was afraid this was a creeper who was doing some sketchy massage out of her bedroom! This is not the case however. Her clinic is on the second floor of the leasing office for the apartment complex. There are other businesses upstairs as well. There is not much in the way of signage. There is plenty of parking though. Sandi is extremely professional and her deep tissue massage was one of the best I have ever received. She is very skilled and knowledgeable. She listened to my concerns and after the one session, I see real improvements. I wish that she were more affordable but it's true that you get what you pay for. She is top notch! read more

Michael is an amazing massage therapist; I have nothing bad to say about him or the massages I have ever gotten from him. He always finds time for me even when I am always making last minute massages. He is fun, humorous and just all around great. He is very, very good and working out the knots and not totally killing me when doing so. Prices are good and the environment very relaxing and safe. I would recommend to anyone. read more

For my first ever "real" massage, I must say, what a great experience. Michael did a really great job making me feel comfortable, every bit of the experience was very personalized and Michael is a very personable practitioner. Got to make conversation with him all while he dug deep into the knots in my shoulders, my neck and my calves. He knows the right amount of pressure to put and for how long until my muscles really loosened up. I enjoyed the experience, 90 minute massage with aroma therapy and I was in relaxation heaven. My roommates even noticed a difference in how I was moving when I got home. I will hopefully be back again soon. He warns you that you'll hate him the next day and love him the day after. I will admit I was a "good" sore the next day, but 10x better the following day. read more

I enjoyed my body work sessions with Michael for relaxing environment, great white noise auditor, and easy online booking system.

It's been a year since I've had a massage. I scheduled one with Michael. Honestly I feel refreshed. He worked to loosen all the nots in my body. My legs no longer feel tight. He was very professional and it was wonderful. I can't wait to schedule an apt next month. read more

Guys, I'm gonna be real with you. I'm a hairstylist, so my body is chronically sore. I've been searching for "my person" for massage since I got into the hair industry. Today I found him! I can't even remember the last time I left a massage feeling so refreshed. If I could give more stars, I would. I even booked my next session. read more

The massage was great and strong. I tend to go to have a massage when my body feels broken down and needing some R&R. I work as a critical care nurse so it's definitely a killer on the body, plus I do listen to a lot of family dynamics and people talking in general when at work. The guy that gave us a massage is great... However, he does talk a lot. I'm sure he was trying to give us a great first impression but after he talked a LOT about his family and their quirks and stories, it got uncomfortable. Personally I like going to have a massage to RELAX and be at PEACE, not listen to another person's drama or family history, especially when I get enough of that at work. Nursing isn't just about performing medical procedures, we also take a lot of time listening to people vent too. I would rather not do the same when I'm trying to relax. In fact I'd rather not have the masseuse talk at all. Maybe I'm used to the Asian style of massage. Thank you for the great squeeze on the shoulders, but this place just might not be for me. read more

Upon arrival, Michael was extremely polite and made me feel comfortable right off the bat. The office and massage room are clean and well kept. The massage room is inviting, has a relaxed atmosphere, and made me feel at home. Michael made sure to hit all of my target areas throughout the massage and I left feeling completely relaxed. Michael was excellent and I will definitely be going back. read more

Great deep tissue massage. I have been stressed and they worked those knots out!

I've been seeing Michael for my deep tissue massage needs for over a year now -- in fact, I am one of the clients that found him at an umbrella company and followed him to his private practice. He's always able to locate the rough spots and he's not afraid to work into them, which I appreciate. I prefer a lot of pressure and he's responsive to that, whereas a lot of massage therapists have been way too "soft" for me. I feel like massage therapists are a lot like mechanics -- hard to find ones you can trust, and once you do, stick with them!! read more

I'm trying to find a place closer to home and Groupon had a deal for an hr massage. My first impression on the phone was with Michael. I called the same day to reschedule my appointment to another day and he helped me without charging me any fee. He's very friendly and sweet over the phone. Then on the day of the appoitnment, as soon as I opened the door and walked in, I was greet by Mary immediately. She carefully read my chart and asked me questions to make sure she understands all my needs. She checked pressure level throughout the session. If you're available on weekdays then you need to come see Mary. read more

I come to Kent several times a year for business. My flight usually lands towards evening, but the next evening I am at Akesis so Michael can sort me out. Once he was in a particularly great mood and sang to me the entire hour while working all the kinks out of my back. With this voice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9Dg-g7t2l4 Granted there was no orchestra, but it felt like there was. I have been getting massages for over 20 years. I need deep tissue massages and good ones seem to be hard to come by. My last therapist moved so I had not found anyone I liked since then. I happened upon groupon when looking for someone near my office and made an appointment. I was instantly hooked. I have been going back regularly for 2 years now. Even though my office shut down and I am working far away now, it is worth the drive for me to find someone as good and thorough as Michael. read more

I had purchased this massage for my wife who was going through some stressful times at work and she ended up not being able to make the appointment so I went in her stead. Driving up to the place, I was not getting that good vibe. The massage place is above the lease office of an apartment complex and just seemed out of place. I found the suite upstairs and was greeted by Michael who is not only the massage therapist but the receptionist as well. He got me started on some paperwork with me explaining why I was there and what I expected from the massage. He started working on my stress areas and boy does he work them. And for the full hour as he had me booked for 1 1/2 hours of which you truly get an hour of table time. I do not have a ton of experience with massage places but this was by far the most complete, thorough and stress relieving massage I had ever had and I can assure you that once he is back from vacation I will be in there again. read more
