A great place for catfish and shrimp. The sides like fries and cole slaw good as well. Drove 125 miles to the location. Senior price $14 AUCE.

    fried shrimp and onion rings

Small salad bar and a fried food buffet. I enjoyed the boiled and fried shrimp with their cocktail sauce.

When I asked if I could go ahead and eat there, he told me to go look at the buffet. I did and saw good bit of food, so I grabbed a couple of plates. I got some of the Coconut Shrimp, and it was wonderful!!! I also got some of the Teriyaki or maybe BBQ Chicken on a stick. It was delicious so, I grabbed a couple more sticks!! I also got a nice size helping of Fried Rice, and the last helping of Broccoli Chicken!!! One of the ladies asked if I wanted more Broccoli Chicken, and I said, Yes, but the cook probably wouldn't want to cook more. She went and got the owner who ordered me some more. I had plenty of food, and every bit of it was delicious!!! They brought my order to my table, and it was a huge plate of Broccoli Chicken, freshly made!!! I asked the lady if I was going to have to pay extra for it, and she said, NO! By the time, they brought out my Broccoli Chicken, I was almost full!!! I finished most of what was on my plate. The owner came to check on me, and asked me if I wanted a To Go Box for my Broccoli Chicken. I said, Yes, Please and when he brought it, I asked if I could put some Fried Rice in my container and he said, Yes!!! I was so tickled!!! I had eaten everything except one of my Chicken Sticks (which I put in my box.) My box was so full that I didn't have room for the 2 Egg Rolls / Spring Rolls, so I wrapped them up, and asked the owner if that was okay. He said, Yes! I told him when I checked out that everything was really good!!! I thanked him for allowing to go ahead and eat even tho I arrived late! And then I told him that it was my birthday, and he wished me a Happy Birthday! The Buffet cost me $13.00 even, and my box of Broccoli Chicken was included!!! Everyone was really nice and the food was excellent!!! I had NOT eaten here much in the last couple of years, because my Chinese Food eating buddy died in a car wreck back in 2022. So, I don't make it over to Sulphur Springs much these days!!! I am so glad that I drove over to eat on my birthday this year!!! And I'll definitely be back more often!!!

I've been holding this in for weeks, but I can't shake off how disturbed I felt after what I…read morewitnessed during a mid-afternoon buffet at Broadway Buffet in Sulphur Springs. That day, my wife wasn't in the mood to eat there, but she accompanied me anyway and had a hot tea while I enjoyed my meal. One thing about me when I go to a buffet--I like to get everything I want in one go, so I don't have to keep getting up. I typically have four to five plates in front of me to avoid interruptions. While getting some egg drop soup, I noticed an elderly woman across from me at the buffet. She was getting wonton soup, and since we were directly opposite each other, I greeted her politely with a "Hi, ma'am" as a sign of respect. She smiled and nodded in return. As I moved to get some steamed fish fillet, I paused because she was also serving herself. What caught my attention was how she used the wrong serving spoon, and instead of taking a small portion, she pinched off pieces of the largest fillet and dropped them into her wonton soup. I found it odd, but it wasn't my business, so I brushed it off. However, what happened next completely ruined my appetite. She reached for a piece of breaded shrimp, dipped it directly into the entire pot of sweet and sour sauce, took a bite, and then--without hesitation--dipped the same shrimp back into the sauce. To make it worse, she walked away, leaving sauce dripping everywhere. I was so disgusted that I immediately informed the owner. She acted promptly, removing the pot of sweet and sour sauce and apologizing. I paid for my meal and left, completely put off by what I had seen. To make matters worse, I later noticed the same woman picking her nose while eating. The entire experience was unsettling. I sincerely wish the restaurant would have someone stationed at the buffet to monitor such behavior. People who are that unhygienic should be removed from the establishment. Let me be clear--I'm not here to badmouth Broadway Buffet. I actually enjoy their food (though, in my opinion, China King is better), and I appreciate having a Chinese buffet nearby without having to drive far. However, this experience left a lasting impression, and I felt compelled to share it with others who dine there.

My wife and I enjoy the chance to talk without having to yell across the table. It is quiet and relaxing. We always get the 3 piece fish and baked potato. It comes with their coleslaw and hush puppies. The hush puppies are great and huge!!! I also like the fries which are hand made and freshly cut. The baked potato is a better value and I have yet to finish one even though I am normally a big eater! I highly recommend Catfish Palace. They also have BBQ available Thursday-Saturday.

After bring it to me and I looked at it I knew 100% this was Swi a Vietnamese catfish because real Texas Catfish don't curl up when fried. I should have sent it back but they will probably reserve to someone else being I didn't touch it. Shrimp was OK and hushpuppys lol were like golf balls. Anyway 23 00 lunch I'm sure she had to get the tip out of that being she was so honest. Then ask me when I was paying for how was it. I said just like I thought it would be. O" you didn't like I love it I think about it all day. Lady go tell that to someone else. I highly recommend not eating her!!!

I…read morewas enticed to try this place strictly by its name. this lead me to imagining how the place would provide yet another example of how silly texas stuff actually is in today's world. in short, i think texans take themselves much too seriously. they aren't riding the range, or having shootouts (well, not the kind that happen in a corral anyway) or (with air-conditioning everywhere you turn) have much need for a "10-gallon hat". but i had neglected to consider that, all that predictable claptrap aside, this place might actually be enjoyable simply because it's a good "steakhouse". I don't really care much for beef these days, it seems kinda unidimensional flavor-wise, differing mainly in tenderness, cut and age of the meat. there is something to the choice of how "well" you like the meat cooked, and in that regard it's much like lamb to me: flavor gets more complex with time and heat. I prefer lamb braised like the greeks do it, rather than grill-marked with red-pink inside. Likewise with beef, which needs to be carefully broiled or grilled to a point just before the protein begins to dewater from being overly done. well/medium well is a tough call to attain given that the cooking continues several minutes after the heat is removed. So here's the serious good about the redneck grill: go for the 16 ounce ribeye: the cut is about as tender as texas steak gets (don't know where peter luger gets their meat but at one time the old man personally selected the incoming hindquarters off the truck). 12 is mainly thinner and has a bit more fat. forego any additional seasoning on anything (french fries included) as there is more than enough salt and etc already. order it cooked to your taste, the kitchen will make a good effort to deliver it that way. this has been my best restaurant experience in this little town, for whatever that's worth. but of course there's plenty of the old texas-texas-texas claptrap to amuse you: the ever-popular cowhide on the wall, exposed brick behind broken terra cotta, creative use of corrugated metal siding as wall covering, expired texas license plates decorating the walls, antiquey kinds of lamps emitting low level light, etc etc etc. ok, i give up on this, texas is still mostly texas once you're outside the perimeter of one of the hopelessly overgrown metroplexes. if you're planning to relocate here to buy a cheap house and avoid state income taxes, enjoy it. i'm going home tomorrow.
