The owner shared that the idea started because he couldn't find cheesecake around the Triad that he really loved, so he started baking his own. After making them for friends and hearing constant encouragement, he decided to turn it into a business. It's always interesting hearing how local businesses get started, and this one felt very organic and community driven. He's even appeared on Food Network shows like Holiday Baking Championship and Chopped, which has helped bring visitors from out of state to High Point just to try the cheesecake. Overall it was a great visit, and it was nice learning more about how the business began. I love seeing the high point mural on the wall it really added to the ambiance!

They got us in and out without sacrificing great customer service. This location is spacious and would be great to drop in and work because they have a coffee bar inside. In an apple filled item, the small amount of apples weren't quite soft and sweet enough, as well. Overall, the pastries were nearer to those of a very talented home baker than the polished work of a traditional professional pastry shop. Of course, for this specific region, this will be an enjoyable stop. With that in mind, I'm not surprised there are long lines; it must be very exciting to encounter a shop like this for the first time. There are very few other bakeries making pastries of this type, much less good ones. It's very, very hard to make excellent pastries. But, if you come from a land rich with bakeries, just set your expectations appropriately.
