I had a very bad experience with Ajitco Electric and would not recommend them. The owner, Kamal (who goes by "Bella"), came out to replace two breakers and attempted to charge me $925 total. What shocked me was that $500 of this charge was for two hours of "travel time"--time he spent driving from Newark to Oakland to pick up a breaker, without my permission or prior approval. He only told me that he "needed to get the breaker" because he did not have it in stock in his truck. I reasonably assumed he would get it from a nearby Home Depot (about 5 minutes away). Instead, he made the unilateral decision to drive all the way to Oakland. During those two hours, I tried multiple times to contact him to understand what was happening, but he never returned my calls. He later claimed that he does not pick up the phone while driving. Charging $250 per hour just to drive and pick up a part--without customer consent--is unacceptable. No customer should be surprised with a bill like this. If the part had been in San Francisco with traffic, would I be expected to pay even more? There are clearly more transparent and reasonable ways to handle parts procurement. This experience felt deceptive and unprofessional. I consider this a scam-like practice and strongly advise others to stay away from this company. read more

Kamal provided a great price for the electrical jobs. He was able to get me on calendar quick and he really listened to what I wanted (I have OCD) and when it wouldn't work the way I wanted he provided great explanation as to why. I would definitely use Ajitco again. Thank you Kamal!! read more

The man was polite and he quoted me fair, but when he was done he left me with three large holes in my walls where he worked in my living room and left without at least cleaning up the trash, broken drywall, old wires, or broken equipment. When asked if they were going to finish the job he responded with "I don't do that, I just fix the wires." read more

Kamal was sent out to our house by our landlord. He and his assistant Tom were friendly and took their time to make sure the work was done properly and were willing to keep my wife and I informed about what they were doing. Thanks again! read more

Singh is just great. The fuse box at my house blew out in flames while it was freezing cold outside. We were struggling with the cold weather when Singh came to the rescue and replaced the whole fusebox within a few hours. I really appreciate his excellent work and timeliness. Highly recommended! read more

I was referred to Ajitco by another friend. Recently, I had blew out my electric outlet because I had purchased the new Dyson heater from Costco which was 12 amps. I live in a older complex, so the socket to my understanding only supported 14 amps. So without knowing anything about electricity (except don't mix with water) I turned on my Dyson heater to full blast and my hair dryer full bast. Next thing you know, I had a black out. I go outside and I flip the breakers on and off and on and off...and nothing....all dark... So I called Ajitco. The man that came over was named Kamal and was very nice and explained to me what happened. He fixed it in less than 30 minutes. Prices are also very reasonable. He will also explain and show you what went wrong even if you don't understand what he is talking about. All my lights turn on now. He basically told me I had to be really careful when it comes to using the powerful Dyson heater in my old house. Thank god for electricians. Now I am warm again and I can see in the dark. read more

I have called on Kamal on two occasions for electrical problems and in both cases his response time was excellent. Same goes for his work. I will definitely turn to Ajitco Electric the next time a good electrician is needed. read more

Good off hours/ holiday season service but be prepared to pay a premium, it's understandable. What did not make sense is when you pay for the hour, the guy refused to finish another related job within the hour I already paid for. Even refused to finish the "related job" when I offered 25% more just to finish it, while he was there. No dice! Clearly the guy wanted to get booked another full hour next day. I refused and had to finish the job myself. read more

Kamal you made my day! Thank you for coming by so fast and going above and beyond what I asked for!

We bought a new microwave and stove (separate units) to replace our old 1 piece stove/microwave unit. After we pulled it out, we found out we needed a new electrical socket for the microwave. We had an appointment with an electrician at 9am, who said he was working the President's Day holiday, and he never showed up. Given that we had already had everything pulled out, we needed someone to come out today. We called several electricians and finally got ahold of Mr. Kamal Assi. He came out within 2 hours, he was knowledgeable, friendly, very thorough and made it a great experience. He definitely knew what he was doing. He was reasonably priced and we would recommend him to anyone! Thank you Mr. Assi for your help on such short notice - I can't tell you how much we appreciate you! read more

Kamal is amazing! He is incredibly responsive - usually able to resolve our issues the day of - or the day after we submit a request. Always on time - works fast - but always thoroughly. We've had one off requests that pop up while he's hear to see another item - never tells us no or that he cannot do it. 100% recommend him for all your electric needs if you are in the area! read more

He does excellent work. Had him come to install new track lighting in my garage (with a new switch) and fix some can lights in both the house and garage. Easy to work with, knowledgable, and got the job done right. Highly recommended. read more

Kamaljeet has always been a fair reliable and trustworthy person to rely on for all your housing needs! We have used his services for our rental properties for many years now. And now the time came to get new ceiling recessed lights installed in our living room, bar, formal and informal dining room. Kamaljeet was patient and listened to how I wanted the lights set up and had also gave input to other layouts as well. The lights look beautiful and we are happy with the end result. Will definitely use him again for other services when the time comes! read more

Beware and careful. Would not recommend at all. Charges are sky rocketing. Called him for some electrical work, charges $95 for inspection. Even after paying didn't do proper inspection and said the work can be done. Next day came with 3 ppl and after looking in detail says the estimate is no longer valid, since more work needs to be done. So the inspection cost I paid was of no use, and above that charges me $300 for his waste of time. I told him multiple times, did you make sure the work can be done, since I knew there were challenges. But his overconfidence and arrogance were just beyond our reach. Please save your time and try someone else or at least get quotes from multiple people. read more

Twenty years ago I had Adjitco run power to my shop and koi pond. Friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough - we were very pleased with his work. At our new home we encountered a couple of problems with the wiring and he was immediately my first choice to call. His service and quality of work had not diminished over the years. I highly recommend his work without reservation. read more

I was in search of an electrician for my office bc the guys our landlord used were crazy overpriced. I must've called over 10 companies, and was close to giving up when I was given a lead by another vendor. He referred me to Kamal, whom he worked with in the past. Kamal was able to come by the same day to give us an estimate. He was very nice and outgoing - with my kind of humor. He did a thorough inspection and presented us with a quote that was very competitive. Fast forward to yesterday - Kamal arrived on time, with his son as his assistant. He went straight to work, with minimal noise (mind you this was during business hours). He was respectful of people's areas, and made sure to place a drape over their space if he anticipated even the slightest amount of mess (i.e. debris from moving a ceiling panel over). He exercised safety precautions (for obvious reasons, but still), was thorough and checked his work before moving on to the next one. We expected him to be there all day, but he knocked it all out in a little over 5 hours, and he didn't even have to shut the power down. Kamal did such a great job that the boss wants me to keep him in mind for any future electrical needs. If you're looking for an electrician, stop yelping! You've found your guy. Thanks Kamal! read more

Half of my kitchen outlets and all lights were out today, and I could not figure out myself. I found Ajitco co. at Yelp.com and called for help. Kamaljit showed up in an hour and ruled out all the possible breakage points one by one. It turned out the wiring in my kitchen was not standard and there was a wire burned out behind my freezer. I am glad that I can find an experienced electrician in the neighborhood, who has the ability to debug difficult issues in a systematic way. Highly recommended! read more
