We used to love eating at Aji, but for some reason the taste of the food here has gone down hill. We ordered two ramens and two rice bowls. The rice was hard and undercooked and the meat was hard. Our waitress seemed like she was in a rush to get us out (even if it was only 8:30pm and they don't close til 11pm) because she dropped the bill off at our table before we were done eating. She never came back to refill our waters or ask if everything was ok. Also, there was a bunch of left over food at our table, yet nobody offered to-go boxes. We used to come here a lot during their "soft opening" time and they actually had better food and service then. Hopefully things get better for this place because their ramen is actually pretty ok. read more

I as really quite impressed with the ramen here! I had the kimchi ramen and also the tonkotsu. Both are really flavorful, the broth is the perfect consistency and full with flavor and there are enough toppings that it's not necessary to add anything to it. pretty good ramen place! nice ambiance and i like the vibes. i ordered the aji tonkotsu and my friend the tan tan ramen. i felt extremely full (but in a good way) and it was fulfilling. it would've been better if they put more noodles into the dish and if the menu had more ramen options. the tan tan ramen was okay, and i knew if i had it, i probably wouldn't have finished it. so if anything, i suggest the aji tonkotsu. all in all, pretty decent ramen place and would come again. read more

This is a fantastic place. We are a kept family and the soup is great even without the noodles. It's bone broth, so it's extremely healthy for you. Love the gizzards and pork belly skewers! Came here for lunch during the soft opening, and was pleasantly surprised. Katy is getting all kinds of good restaurants.. I had the spicy miso ramen ($9.50). It had a very rich flavor, and the heat was not overbearing so as to deter from the dish. It's a delicate thing to balance, and this was executed properly. For some of our hot heads who need more, there's chili powder and I believe hot oil at the tables. There was an underlying sweetness as well that added a subtlety I haven't encountered at other ramen joints. Maybe it's the red miso they use, or the chashu (pork belly), but the overall idea is it's good, filling, and left a lasting impression. :) Service was prompt and very attentive to my thoughts/questions. Customer feedback is important to them, so fire away with your ideas. Complimentary yogurt drink at the end of the meal was a nice touch. I'll be back for the grand opening. I'm sitting on a 4/5 now in the hope that new menu options/extras will appear, as I think personally I would have had more veggies in the ramen. There also aren't too many vegetarian or halal options for my friends, but I think that's to be expected. read more

Not bad. The skewers were all great. Pork belly was my favorite. The kids menu serving is massive. The takoyaki was not good. I was really let down because it's one of my favorite foods, but I've had much better. There was a seasoning on it that made it very unappetizing. Almost too sweet. I recently got a job in cinco ranch, so i've been searching some good place to feed me during lunch. This is an other restaurant i found that i will put it in my lunch list. I personally do not like ramen very much. But one day i went there with my co-workers because they want ramen. And it turned out pretty good. first of all the price is very reasonable compare to other ramen place, they usually cost about $12 per bowl, and there i only paid 9 bucks for my ramen. and i also ordered a grilled squid was delicious too. highly recommended for those of you like good noodles with good price. read more

crab sumonumo (sp?) was frickin delicious. tonkatsu broth was good. chasu meat was just ok, but that's fine cause i'm not there for the pork meat. will definitely be back to try other appetizers and ramen. the crab salad left a very good impression. if other dishes are that good, this will definitely become a regular place for me. read more

We live in Katy and are always looking for new restaurants to try out. We decided to try this place as we know they're new to Katy (five months). Awesome ramen dishes! Anytime we have a craving for ramen, we would drive all the way into Chinatown (Bellaire Blvd) and go to Tiger Den. I would say this is just as delicious, if not one knot better. Great ambiance and the tables are not crowded together like Tiger Den. At Tiger Den, I am never a fan of sitting so close to people I don't know--like at "the same table close." This place has a great, friendly staff. I tried the Spicy Miso and my husband had the Kimchi Ramen. The waitress told us to try the skewer next time as it's one of their best dishes. It's our second time visiting this place and we also brought our friends with 4 children We ordered bun for appetizer and regular roman noodle for the main dishes. Their noodles are good, but soup base are very thick. One of children developed stomach and ended to the restroom after finishing his bowl. Moreover, their TV show happened to have adultery sex behavior that we had to request changing channel for our children.
