I took my daughter in to get tips. This is the second time we have been, and both experiences have been 100% positive. They were honest about the wait when we were greeted at the door. We decided to stay, and our wait was about five minutes. Amy, did my daughter's nails. Of course my daughter came equipped with nail inspo. It is the closest nail salon by me (staying at a friend's place visiting from NYC). Saw the 2 stars (checking in on yelp) after walked in and telling the nail technicians that I wanted basic mani/pedi. Yikes! But I was here and committed. Place is large, bright, spacious and looks clean. There are 10 pedicure chairs + 2 kids chair. There are at least about the same for the manicure stations. Private room areas in the back for other treatments (wax, eyebrow, etc). There is s small ATM tucked in the corner by reception for tipping (tips only in cash). 2 handwashing sinks station toward back by the bathroom available at any time. I came in today, Monday 9/16 around 11am and was told about 15min wait once she was done with her current client. Only 3 other ladies there and were with their clients. That was when I pulled out my phone to check in & read reviews. Decided to try it anyways since I'm here. My lady was friendly and sweet. My mani/pedicure took a total from 11:17am (butt in pedicure chair) to 12:37pm (hands drying at the manicure station). I asked/wanted paraffin wax for feet but they said they don't do it and need to change their menu sign. I think service was good but not good enough to come back as I saw some parts she missed. My nails came out looking great from afar, but upon close inspection, it wasn't file long enough, uneven, the polish wasn't even and there was air bubbles in the polish. Pricing was pricer than what I paid in midtown NYC (Bryant park special $27 for mani/pedi). I do understand some places can go up to $32 but this was $40 for basic and it wasn't very even. My right hand index finger polish wasn't painted all the way. Kinda like at hair salon they don't color up to the roots forcing you to come back for a touch up. read more

Of all the salons I've been to, this is one of only two places that have ever done the nail art I've asked for. They always have time for me, and when I walk in, I don't have to wait long. My normal salon I go to use a new buffer and file every time even before CoVid but now especially. I went to AJs bc I needed a very last minute gel mani. They didn't use a new file or buffer, it's been 3 days and my gel is already peeling off, and she didn't have me wash my hands after the mani which is probably what led to the peeling. I have been here several times in the past. Service was great. Today took my daughter in law and my 1 year grand daughter here g For a mani..LET ME TELL YOU. MY NAILS WERE FINE. HOWEVER her' s had dirt from them doing the fill. After she told him that he said nothing he could do. After telling him that wanted them fixed. He was rude and snatched her hand and said dfint come here again! And said "f" this. So she got up and a,women said she would fix it. I have had my eyebrows waxed there many times. They were all very nice except the girl that did my eyebrows last week started talking to a customer and when she finally came back to do my eyebrows she said I forgot you were back here. I was ok things happen and they have always done a good job and very reasonable priced. So I decided to go have a pedicure the water was cold I had to ask for them to put hot water in. She never did anything with my cuticles. She barely touched the bottom of my feet. They don't use the hot towels and I noticed yesterday the bottoms of my feet looked like nothing had been done so today I wen back in there and to tell them how dissatisfied I was and the gentleman said why are you coming back now instead of addressing it then. I told him I didn't notice it until yesterday. Then he told me I had would of had to pay $10 more to have the calluses removed. For $45 I would of thought that would of been included. He never offered to correct the issue all he wanted to do was argue so I walked out. He needs a less in customer service. They don't even have any of there prices listed. I went with a friend this evening so that she could get a fill. We arrived around 7:10 PM. She waited about 15 minutes till a technician was available. Before my friend's nails were dry they were pushing us out the door so that they could close....it was 8 pm. It clearly states that they are open till 9 pm. They asked if I drove and then told me to open the doors for her and buckle her seatbelt. There was a technician tapping her foot with her arms crossed waiting for us to leave. If they did not want to work past 8 pm then they should not have taken my friend back to have her nails done. They should also not have their closing time listed as 9 pm. They were rude, unprofessional and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. We will never go back there again. Our business was clearly not wanted this evening. read more

If I could give this place a negative amount of stars, I would. Don't go here. The service is disgusting and the workers have no respect for anyone who walks through that door. My nails were given no attention and turned out all different shapes and lengths. My nails have been on for not even a full 24 hours and already broke off. Enjoyed our post-camping pedicures! Tons of tables and pedicure chairs! We didn't have to wait and our pedicures lasted about 45 minutes. They also have two kids chairs! AJ Nails is awful. I had a full set done the day before my daughter's wedding. What a mistake! The technician cut my fingers three times. Glued my fingers to the nails, and then said "You're done." I left, showed them to my family in the car and they encouraged me to return. I complained to the woman at the front and she said it was because I chose silver sparkly gel. My fingertips hurt and the nails were thick clumps. When I insisted they be fixed, they were filed down for a few minutes. This technician said "wash your hands, you're done." I wasn't satisfied, and they didn't care. I recommend you stay far away from this place.. read more

Walked in without an appointment. Found a clean, large salon with lots of massage chairs. They took me right away. I had the regular pedi and a gel mani and both were great. The absolute worst! The customer service was horrible. They are rude and snippy. I went for a manicure and after explaining I didn't want a gel she told me the manicure wouldn't last. I said I understood how long a manicure lasted and gels have damaged my nails in the past. She gave me a dirty look and said it won't last. I almost laughed out loud at how absurd she was. Well, never going there again! My mom went once before when it was dead and had a great pedicure, so we went for mani and pedi's today. It was busy, because it was a Saturday afternoon, so our mani and pedi's were super short. I'm sorry, but I am paying you for a service that should last the same time no matter if it is busy or slow. They rushed polishing my nails and didn't even paint the whole nail. They didn't even massage our feet or hands. She basically ripped my toe separators off. I was a regular for a while with gel nails and also pedicures. It at first was fine. Nothing really bad yet nothing extraordinary either. Then I began to notice more the slack in hygiene. The young girl without a license doing pedicures when they were busy. The cold sterilization ( blue bottles) on each unit empty. Tools being used on many different people with all the customers before nail dust still on them. The worst was when they cut my toe while filing and then put the file back into public use with my blood on it. To end that appointment they left my tub there filled with my dirt and did not clean it until a half hour later. Unsatisfactory clean to add insult to injury. Last time ever after many times trying it again and again hoping it would be better. The State needs to come in and take a look. My own personal opinion. read more

Stay away!! I went in for a regular manicure and it was chipping off within 24 hours. I went back to talk to her and she said she told me it would only last 24 hours. I said that she did not say that and who would pay for a manicure that only lasted 24 hours. She kept insisting that she told me but she didn't or I would have done it myself. TERRIBLE!!! I went to AJ Nails the week of my prom and I wanted to get some cute nails that matched my dress. Well, the lady I got for my nails didn't really seem to know what she was doing. She started off okay then I said I wanted rhinestones on my nails and she asked for me to pay right then and there before the whole process and she charged me an additional $15 dollars which came out to be $55 total. So, she started on my nails they looked really cute and I was pretty happy. Well, I left and not even 10 minutes later it got smudged even though she said they were dry. So I went to a different salon because I didn't want to deal with them again but the lady at the other said to go back to the one that I got the nails done at. So I did. When I came back I said "these weren't dry and they got smudged even though she said they were" and so a different lady sat down very annoyed that she had to fix the one nail and she put a top coat and used a fan to dry it and sat down on her phone. It wasn't even fixed. There was still an indent in my one nail. I'm never giving them my time of day anymore. Don't go there. Terrible service. The only nice person there is a younger girl who I feel has a better understanding of customer service. read more

Several of us went here to have our nails done for a wedding. Several workers were a little on the rude side and rushed us in deciding on the limited color selection. I felt like we could deal with that alone, but the male owner working on my mother's nails spoke to her exceptionally rudely. He was rude and curt and his customer service skills were awful. When I explained that his attitude with my mother was unacceptable he spent a lot of time trying to explain WHY he was rude to my mother instead of apologizing. The weren't very nice or friendly and cared more about me paying cash the anything else. Went here for a pedicure and the woman I had honestly did a great job! The reason I'm only giving 1 star is because even though they have a functioning credit card machine, they would not let me use my credit card. They insisted I use their ATM to take out cash and get changed a fee. I told them I didn't want to pay a fee and that I'd go to my own bank to get money. They let me go but took my phone to ensure I'd come back. I couldn't care less if a business wants to be "cash only," but it should be posted and mentioned to customers who are used to going and paying with a card. read more
