I'm still trying to sort out what to think of this firm. I've had some good experiences and some bad ones. I have a service plan with them and it seems clear that the repairs through this plan are a big source of profits. Replacing a part to prevent a leak was going to cost nearly 500 dollars, more than 25% of what the whole system originally cost. Ultimately, a small plastic part was replaced for 225 dollars by the guy who was already there according the paid service plan. I also had an early issue with them over being billed for an installation we had explicitly rejected. It appears that they terminated the employee involved. On the upside, they have been very responsive to issues and complaints. They have some very pleasant and competent people working for them. Even the younger man who came the day they wanted 495 to replace a part was very pleasant (the older guy watching over him, not so much). I've been assured that with some change in management they are working to tighten things up. Overall, I'm on the fence. Will update as things unfold. read more

We just had our irrigation system winterized by AJ Antico and had a great experience. The office team was responsive and made scheduling easy. The tech arrived on time and had our system blown out quickly. The tech was kind and professional, plus our dog loved him and he's a pretty good judge of character! I think the price might have been a little steep, but for ease of scheduling, I'm satisfied with AJ Antico and would happily use them again. read more

This company's practices are unethical. My main sprinkler pipes were broken. I called them to repair the pipes because thy are the the one who installed my system.I could not get through to the owner but they send their manager and he gave me an estimate of $1750. I ask him to itemized the bill and he gave us lot of non sense like clearing the dirt from the system, reprogram the system, adjust the heads etc. I called another contractor and he fixed the pipes for $225 in less than an hour. These people will scam you.Stay away from this company. read more

As some other folks have said, it is not cheap to have and maintain a sprinkler system, but overall I have been happy with Antico. Our tech the last few times has been Alberto, who is smart, skilled, personable and loves what he does. He has helped me solve a couple of problems and upgraded our system in ways that have been creative and cost effective as possible. Charged my elderly parents $30K for 1 weeks worth of work. $10k for mulch. $12K Irrigation repairs. $8k for uplighting. Not making this up. They claimed to have worked 375 man hours in those 5 days.. Disgusting. read more

There is something unknown going on at this company. I have had an account with them for many years for my BIG irrigation system. One of their employees came by and told me I needed about $1000. of repairs. I called another company to look at the system and they found nothing wrong. A second person came out this spring from Antico and said that I only needed two heads replaced. This is a group of shysters. Beware. They will try to fleece you. So as far as technicians go I would give Alberto Silveira 10 stars! He was awesome, informative, and answered all of my questions, walking me over to what he was doing multiple times. I do however find it strange that a company would only warranty a sprinkler head for 14 days. Last September we had AJ antico come out and revamp our current system adding a few zones and replacing sprinkler heads, and it was NOT cheap, along with the fact that they over charged us and charged us for services that were not authorized! We had the system run from the beginning of October to when we had it turned off the first week of November. I was shocked that when we had our system turned on this spring there were already new sprinkler heads that were not working correctly and problems we had addressed in October were still not fixed, after they had people out three times last year to do a full assessment of our system. Our service plan is up after this spring turn on and I am finding it hard to convince my Fiance to want to reup on our service plan because of their business side of things. read more

Today I had my mid season check ups and a valve replacement done with Alberto. He was very friendly and professional. He discovered the issues previous techs missed and performed repairs/replacement with great attention to details in the sun and 94 degree weather. Just had my Spring Turn On service with my maintenance plan. As always, on time, wore booties into my house, set up my system quickly and made necessary repairs. I have had only two techs in more than 2 dozen years and will now have a new tech. When the same tech comes all the time, I get great service and they know my lawn needs. The turn over in help in many service businesses is not good. I always can talk with the same person in the office, and the same people in the service department. I am very pleased. BJF read more

Ann A. is correct in saying "There is something unknown going on at this company." This is the 2nd year in a row they have botched my appointment for the spring turn on. I have had 2 appointments so far and my sprinklers are still not on. They don't show-up when they say they will and I end up sitting around for hours getting the run-around. There's miscommunication between techs in the field and the office. They seem to over extend themselves and then can't get to their appointments, like mine. Not for nothing, they installed a whole new system several years ago, big $$, but no matter, they still don't treat you right. read more

Big tagline on their website "SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!"! Then, in the text, it says "commitment to total customer satisfaction" They do not honor this. They don't respond to phone calls, they don't show up to meet with the customer. The work they did on my front walk continues to disintegrate and crumble. It is very dangerous. I was told by Anthony Jr. (who no longer works there) that a kid did the work. My initial concern was that there was a lot of "cement" between the sones. There was a large pile of leftover stones. I didn't understand why the stones removed weren't put back in, and there were so many leftover! Anthony Sr. did finally come meet with me, and told me he was not going to do anything about it (in so many words). He said he was angry about my previous negative review! He admitted (when I asked)that he was getting back at me! He did offer me $1000. How far would that go for a new walkway and wall? AJ Antico has a total lack of accountability, and no integrity. I only checked one star because there isn't an option to choose a negative rating. I have used this company for 10 years and I've known for probably the last seven that they overcharge on virtually everything (I never bothered to source another vendor because I was always too busy with work to bother). And year after year, they would come out and over charge me on labor and parts (I'm now thinking probably on some items I never even needed to replace). After the most recent incident though I have had enough. I was charged $230 to replace a $9 solenoid (home depot price) that took 20 minutes to install! And yes, shame on me for allowing myself to be ripped off for as long as I did. I wrote Anthony (the owner) about this (first time I ever complained to anyone about anything) and he never even had the courtesy to respond to me (after being a customer for 10 years). This is also the first time I've ever written a review online, but I feel so strongly about this, I felt a need to warn other people about this company. I recently found another local company to do my 4 zone winterization for $60. Half what Antico charges. I will not ever use them again and hope anyone reading this won't either. If you do, you can expect to be grossly overcharged on everything they do!! Find another company to do the work for you! read more

Similar to Ann A's situation. I had one of their guys tell my wife during my fall shut-off last year that 4 sprinkler heads were broken and would be $75 a piece to replace. No way I was going to pay that much $$$, so I went out and bought 4 sprinkler heads at Home Depot for around $10 a head. I never got around to fixing them over the fall/winter so when they came to turn the sprinklers on this past spring, I happened to be home when the guy showed up so I asked if he could tell me which ones were broken. He said that he didn't see any that were broken, they were all working fine. So somehow over the course of winter, they magically fixed themselves. Either that, or they were never broken to begin with. Shady....... read more

I don't understand why there a any bad reviews on here for Antico. They are a top notch company in my eyes. Anthony came out to my house he explained what we needed and within a couple of days we had our irrigation system installed. We had a small problem the second day when we turned on the system. I called their service dept and they were nothing but helpful and could not stop apologizing they sent someone out the next day to fix it. I have a service contract with Antico. For the past several years the quality of service declined drastically. They kept suggesting more and more sprinklers to be replaced - this year there were 8 sprinklers ($80 each), two of which they installed by them last summer. Of the replaced sprinklers several are leaking and one sticks from the ground by 2 inches and they refused to fix them. All sprinkler heads were poorly adjusted, sprinkling the asphalt driveway, over the fence and all the way into the woods. We had to readjust the heads to avoid wasting water on watering the woods and the pavement. While doing so we found that some of the newly replaced heads were loose and not completely screwed down to the bases which left them leaking from underground and creating puddles around the heads. I am sure that they do it intentionally to claim during the next service that the heads need replacement. They told me the main valve was broken and charged me $250 to replace it but left the same broken valve in place. I sent pictures of the obviously broken device to the general manager but he did not pay attention and did not reply. They tore off the rain detector without warning me and when I asked why they claimed that it had been broken, yet they refused to show it to me. Then demanded $300 to install the new one and threatened to shut down the system if I don't pay. Lately the service people and the management are outstandingly rude. The general manager scheduled an appointment to "resolve my issues" 3 times and never showed up without any notice. I don't want this terrible service anymore and want to cancel the contract. I contacted the company multiple times but so far after several months still cannot get my money back. Stay away from Antico -- they will rip you off. read more
