I was concerned that Patti Bros. wouldn't even be interested in such a modest job. Wrong I was! For the exact same price as the (unnamed) other nearby lamp repair shop that made the same repair four years ago (yes, that repair only lasted four years), Mike Patti replaced my broken socket and rethreaded the power cord through the arm, in less than a day. He was most pleasant, and even came to my car in the parking lot to pick up the lamp from me and to return it to me once repaired. I gave him a tip when I picked up the lamp and he asked if I was sure. Of course I was sure; he's a nice guy and did great, quick work on a job that wasn't really worth his time and effort, but they try to make every customer happy. Be nice to them and they'll be nice to you. Save yourselves the trouble and get it fixed right the first time. There should be hundreds of five star reviews on Yelp because Patti Bros. definitely is a five star business. I assume most people are too busy to write reviews.

A very pleasant gal from Wired called me almost immediately, and within minutes booked my appointment for the following week at my request. I had told her that my order for the charger kept getting delivery delayed and that I was uncertain whether I would actually have it in time. She said that if I wanted, they keep Tesla chargers in stock, and if desired they could book the install this week, and I return the ordered charger to Tesla service center. I selected the day after tomorrow and voila Paul, the very knowledgeable and friendly electrician/installer showed up with the charger. After some discussion about amps, load, location, and yes, sports, my new charger was beautifully installed, the work area all cleaned up and my new car charging up! They made it so easy. They are highly responsive, efficient and take great pride in their work. They specialize in EV chargers of all kinds. Highly recommend!

I have a service plan with them and it seems clear that the repairs through this plan are a big source of profits. Replacing a part to prevent a leak was going to cost nearly 500 dollars, more than 25% of what the whole system originally cost. Ultimately, a small plastic part was replaced for 225 dollars by the guy who was already there according the paid service plan. I also had an early issue with them over being billed for an installation we had explicitly rejected. It appears that they terminated the employee involved. On the upside, they have been very responsive to issues and complaints. They have some very pleasant and competent people working for them. Even the younger man who came the day they wanted 495 to replace a part was very pleasant (the older guy watching over him, not so much). I've been assured that with some change in management they are working to tighten things up. Overall, I'm on the fence. Will update as things unfold.
