When things go wrong, these circus clowns run around in circles blaming everybody and doing nothing. My recommendation is SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE! I bought six simple, flush LED lights. Two failed within a couple of weeks. The rest have been fine. When the first one failed, I took it back for replacement. They were out of stock. When the second one failed, I just called and asked them to order another. So at this time, they had my money, and I had a dark stairway into my basement. Months went by. I called them repeatedly and they just fobbed me off. My wife was also fobbed off. More months delay. We gave them two email addresses to contact us on and phone numbers. Well, they don't return phone calls, and their excuse for not emailing is that somebody wrote down the wrong email address. Coincidentally, they told me that two different people had made the error of omitting our middle initials from the email addresses. Hmmm? Finally, they told me they could get two lower wattage editions of the same lamps, so I said "do it". Elsewhere, the lower wattage versions retail for $10 less than the ones I paid for. When I asked for the refund they told me to pound sand. They blame the technology (LED), they blame the supplier, they blame the manufacturer, they blame the sales guy and they blame each other. But they don't try to fix the problem. I don't blame them for the failures, but I fault them massively in their inability to manage the problem once it had occurred. read more

I had a wonderful experience here. I bought an old lamp from an antique store and called Lighting Showcase about having it re-wired. They invited me to go right over, even though they were supposed to close for the weekend in 25 minutes. When he realized that it would not be a quick, simple job, he said I'd need to leave it there and they'd have it done by early next week, so I left. But he ended up staying late to do it that same evening and invited me back to pick it up. He did a super job matching the hardware colors and preserving as many of the original parts as possible. He even threw in a free lampshade! I'm very happy with the job they did. read more

BEWARE - STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!! I ordered a ceiling fan which was not a stock item. it had to be ordered and would take 1 to 2 weeks for delivery. Two days later I called to cancel my order and asked for a credit on my card. I was told it was too late, the order was already placed. I said I would be willing to pay the 20% restocking fee even though I didn't receive the fan. But that wasn't acceptable either. Now the store has close to $200 of my money with nothing I wish to purchase. I am in the market to buy a solar light fixture, but they don't carry solar items. I even thought well I'll purchase some LED bulbs, but at $30 a bulb when I can get the same thing at Home Depot for around $8, just another rip off! My husband and I went to this store for our pendant lights. We had ordered multiple lights on line and were unhappy with each purchase. George and Juliana were so helpful and friendly. Within 30 minutes we had chosen our pendant lights. George walked us through it all and both looked at photos of our remodel to help us with our purchase. We ordered out light on Nov. 4, and paid in full. We were told it would be 2 weeks. We checked in 4 weeks later, and were told deliveries were messed up because of hurricane sandy. Received a call at 5:30 on a Saturday that our light was in, and we could get it during the week. Stopped by, but they were closed. One night someone as there, but waved me off. Stopped on a Saturday to find that they had closed for Christmas vacation for two weeks. We were finally able to get the light on January 4. Although I complained, and they agreed that the situation was absurd, they offered us no additional assistance, delivery, compensation, etc. we had really wanted the light for thanksgiving and Christmas, and did not have a living room fixture during that time. I went in looking for a replacement outdoor light fixture. From the moment I walked in the sales associate (did not get a name but can only assume that he was Al) was rude from the beginning. All I wanted was a dome light and he was acting like I was some kind of moron for not having measurements of how high the outdoor light was and was very short with me. I could not believe how rude he was for no reason whatsoever, especially considering I did not need to be "shown" outdoor light options when I already knew what I wanted. I ended up just walking out the door. I cannot believe people would entertain the thought of doing business with these people. I went to Lighting Showcase to have my lamp fixed. The gentleman at the store told me that the wiring would last another 15 years. He then tweaked something and the lamp was working again. He told me that there was no charge. The people in the store are honest, straightforward and very pleasant to deal with. I have never written a review on Yelp before, but felt it necessary after seeing the reviews posted. I have to say I completely disagree with the ratings, as we had a wonderful experience. I did have to make a deposit, however that deposit was deducted when I ordered all of my lights. Al sat down with me for countless hours, and even went to my new home and made suggestions on lighting that he felt was appropriate. I felt the hundred dollar deposit was fair, as he spent so much time sitting with me, and even traveled to my new home so that he would understand the layout and be able to make appropriate recommendations. The lights were more than I ever expected and I was very pleased with the quality. Also, and I believe most importantly, I would have pictures of lights and Al would find similar ones in his catalogs in a different brand that were much more inexpensive, but yet still great quality. Finally, I could not find a pediment light that I liked for over my sink, and Al actually made one for me- it came out amazing and matched the overall look that I was going for in my new kitchen. To summarize, I am sorry that some people did not have the experience I had with the Lighting Showcase-however, after reading this review, I hope you will give them a chance-I think you will be very happy with the customer service , quality of products and overall experience you will have in the store. read more

I purchased a $4,000 chandelier in April of last year. It stopped working in December. The owner still hasn't called me back and store employees have been giving me the run-around. Two electricians came to figure out what was wrong and it was determined the fixure itself is at fault. I've spent $6,000 to the date and live in the dark. They are only happy and friendly when you are at the store with cash to make a purchase. STAY AWAY!!! They don't stand by the quality of their products and customer service is just terrible. Wow, a one-star review, and I somehow feel like I'm being generous. We had a new house built just over a year ago. We had to deal with a number of vendors and tradesmen - cabinetry, lighting, electrical, flooring, plumbing, countertops, patios/stonework. It was inevitable that we'd encounter issues here and there but my experience with The Lighting Showcase takes the cake. I have never before had to work with such horrible vendors. The staff delayed placing my order, and then some lamps were backordered -- my house ended up being completely finished but lacking outdoor lamps for nearly a half year as we awaited their delivery. They made no effort to find replacements nor did they offer to provide any sort of temporary solution. After we finally got them installed, we experienced problems with the poles attached to the lamps (solar sensors) and they would not replace the poles and they tried to pass me on to the lamp manufacturer for support (eventually they did end up replacing the photovoltaic sensor but only after literally MONTHS of harassing). After spending $4k at Lighting Showcase for the lights to our new house, I expected better service (heck, I expected some service). Al and Juliana were both exceedingly rude and unapologetic. They do not seem to back their products with any reasonable level of customer service. As a side note, the photovoltaic sensor on the lamp post failed a second time and the the ceiling fan in our master bedroom is also faulty. But Al and Julianna's service was so poor and their attitudes so offensive, that I am staying away and living with the shoddy products (at least until we get around to replacing them from/by a different vendor)... so, yea, Al/Juliana, you win. Your service was so bad, I don't even want to attempt trying to fight with you to get you to fix/replace them. Stay away from Lighting Showcase. read more

Went to Lighting Showcase last week to look at pendant lights for a new home. Megan was very helpful and took time to show different varieties of lights and gave us prices. We went back today and Megan greeted us in a cheerful manner and we told her we were looking at ceiling fans. She was working on some paperwork with the owner and he said to her "let them go look at fans-we're going to finish what we're doing". My wife and looked at fans and wanted to know if the fan we selected came in two different sizes... a 54" and a 44"...as we wanted matching fans. We were told that there would be a $200 consultation fee to check the sizes and prices of the fan. Are you kidding me? We couldn't even get a price and find out what sizes were available without a $200 fee! Customer Service rating gets a grade of F! Absolutely disgusting way to do business. Went on lamps plus.com and ordered the light with no hassle! There are many other choices to buy lights and fans. This is NOT one of them. This is a great option to choose lighting in this area. Their prices can't be beat, literally. I went to Yale lighting and they quoted me $4,400 for the same light that Lighting Showcase quoted me $3,000. That is just the tip of the iceberg. After speaking in detail about our lighting needs with the owner, he offered to custom fabricate a fixture for us if we needed. They have been in business a long time and know what they are doing. I read the other negative reviews and think that those people are probably exaggerating what actually happened as so many people do. They may not have every light you are looking for in the store, but they do advertise that they will match online prices. Why would you buy online, when you could have a local business to support and a real live human being to take care of things when they aren't right. read more

I have NEVER been treated so rudely as a customer in my entire life! I had just been to AD Cola in Natick and purchased several lighting fixtures and then went to Lighting Showcase to get more information on an ORB light and measurements THAT I FULLY INTENDED TO PURCHASE along with other fixtures that I still needed that I had looked at the previous week. Al saw the AD Cola slip in my hand and RUDELY said do not waste my time and that I should have been smart enough not to carry the AD Cola slip in my hand. When I tried to explain that I fully intended to purchase and the AD Cola slip had measurement information - he once again RUDELY said don't waste my time. Honestly, I was shocked and I told him that I WOULD NEVER shop there again, would write this review and would inform anyone I knew about his rude and unprofessional behavior. His response....."I don't care - we'll still be here!" Al, just in case your reading this I made SEVERAL LIGHTING PURCHASES at another store that you could have had - but as you said you don't care! Over commit and under deliver. Very surprised how the employees can expect customers to tolerate a retail outlet committing that they can control something they can't. I guess the difference between this retailer and most others is that they tell you what you want to hear as opposed to what you need to hear. Buy here and expect less than what you planned on.
