There a cylinder misfire on my car, but after changing the position of the spark plug didn't pop an error after driving it around a bit. Literal lifesavers! My daughter's car battery was totally dead. We were able to get a jumpstart from AAA but they didn't have the battery in stock because they had been replacing a lot of batteries lately due to the cold weather onset. I called Justin after seeing all the great recommendations on here and the UCSB parents forum on FB. He was super helpful, said they had the battery and could do some additional testing to make sure nothing else was an issue. Brought the car in and they were able to test and replace the battery, no other issues. And it was done within 35-ish minutes thanks to Tyler. Battery and replacement cost was very reasonable and there was a 30-month warranty on the battery from the date of the receipt and if any issues to come back and they would replace it with a brand new one, no pro-rating. Very poor service, almost like looting people, these days people say "support your local business. But businesses like this should be totally boycotted. Couple of weeks ago I went there as there was a cylinder misfire problem in my Nissan Altima. So I asked them to change my sparks and coils of all the cylinders, as the car was already 100k, The big boss said it's not required,he only changed one coil and charged me 248$. I have a Prius whose dash lights lit up like a Christmas tree. I had an autoshop teacher at a high school I work at run the codes and he told me I needed a very expensive replacement of the ABS module. I called the Toyota dealer and they said 4-5k for the repair. I took it to Justin and he looked at the codes and assessed what was going on and thought I might just be low on brake fluid. He added the fluid and cleared the codes and the car has been driving great and the brakes feel like normal (not spongy anymore). He didn't charge me anything and sent me on my way. (And he did this the same day and right away when I showed up up despite being obviously very busy!) My car very well need a repair in near future, and an expensive one at that, but I now know beyond a shadow of a doubt I'll be taking it to Justin at Airport Motors. I was having problems with my 2015 Mazda CX5 frequently not starting. When the AAA technician came out the car would immediately start when the cable was jumped. I was told that the 1 year old battery was strong so I must have left something on. About the 6th time this happened) I figured it can't be me every time. After AAA came and I had the car running I called Airport Motors who had put the battery in a year earlier. I spoke to my mechanic Justin Hurnblad who instructed me to bring the car right in and not to turn the engine off. When I arrived I could see they were swamped but Justin was there waiting and waved me right in and immediately hooked the car up to some kind of equipment which showed the battery was fine but the alternator was barely alive. Even though they were very busy he considered this an emergency, gave me an estimate, ordered the part and told me he could fix it that day. His office girl Julia was very pleasant and gave me a ride home. I brought the car in at 9:30 am and got a call at 2:00 pm that the car was ready. Justin gave me a bill the same amount as quoted that morning and had the old part in his hand showing me the damage. I was so impressed with the prompt, efficient, friendly manner I received and for the honesty, skill and knowledge displayed that I recommend Airport Motors to anyone needing car repairs. I saw that my Niece's tire was bald and we went to a tire shop off of Fairview to get the spare off. I had tried myself but the mechanism to bring down the tire (1993 Toyota 4Runner) had broken. The tire shop said that I should take it to a car mechanic shop. I went to 2 other shops, that were recommended by the tire guy, and each of those shops couldn't see us/ had time to see us. We finally went to Airport Motors and an awesome guy came and actually looked at the SUV and gave us the time of day. He said that he can get the tire off and put it on for us. COMPLETE AND TOTAL RIPOFF! TAKE YOUR CAR ELSEWHERE. They refused to fix the problem that they had caused, did unauthorized work that they did not even bother to phone me to discuss. The work they did was shoddy and didn't even fix the problem that I went in there to have them fix. When I went back and mentioned the problems to them they refused to re-service my car. I was charged for work that I did not request. Not sure how they have been in business for so long. This place rates zero stars and I don't know why I have to give them even one. They gave me no written estimate when I brought my car in but my friend told me they were honest so I didn't request one. My mistake. I'll never go back there again. read more
