Justin reviewed the list of work that my dealer said urgently needed to be done. He found that most was not necessary and was able to complete what was needed -- quickly, cleanly, and professionally. It ended up costing me a tenth of what the dealer would have charged. On top of that, the shop is friendly and they even took a look when I drove in without an appointment. read more

Justin and his team are the most honest, reliable, and proficient set of mechanics/technicians that I've ever dealt with in Santa Barbara County, hands down! Highly recommended if you want great service with the best price. Tom Cantella read more

Justin fixed many of the problems with my 2004 Nissan quickly and properly. I plan on bring my other car in to him.

We have a big panel van--a Ram Promaster--and had a one-vehicle accident in Montecito while on our way from San Diego to the SF Bay Area. This happened around 5pm. I looked for local mechanics and Airport Motors was highly rated so we managed to get there despite stuff hanging down below the front bumper. Justin the owner was there, about to close up, but he was willing to help. A lot of shops just want to work on smaller vehicles than our 9 1/2 ft. tall RV, and they only want to pop & swap defective parts for new ones, but what we needed was help jury-rigging our damaged front end so we could get home 300 miles north of them. We have a second alternator for running the RV part of our van that hangs sort of below the front bumper, with a plastic shroud protecting it a bit. Justin was able to put things together with zip ties enough for us to get home, and was conscientious about making sure the jury rig would be sturdy enough to get us home. It was. And his price was more than reasonable. Overall we had a great experience with Airport Motors. It's close to the Santa Barbara Airport and 101. read more

What a great job Justin did and so quickly and almost half the price of the dealership.Airport Motors is the only place I will take my kia Sorento to. Thank you Justin! read more

This is my go to place to service my car! They are incredibly kind and efficient, I have only had positive experiences here. They charge bargain and never try to upsell you. Genuinely the best mechanics I have ever had the pleasure of working with and would highly recommend them to anyone! read more

Finding a trusty mechanic is like finding a good roommate - rare, but when you do, you never let them go. I only get my oil changed here, but every time they make sure all the fluids are topped off and even do a quick general look around. It's the little things that make a difference. They're straightforward, don't try to upsell unnecessary services, and always make sure everything's in good shape before handing the keys back. It's nice knowing I'm getting more than just a basic oil change. It's hard to find a place you feel comfortable going back to, but this spot has definitely earned my trust. read more

We love, love, LOVE this place. Justin and Airport Motors was highly recommended to us when we moved to Santa Barbara 10 years ago, and we've been coming here ever since. Every single time we've had our cars serviced or fixed, every interaction with the Airport Motors team, is just awesome. They fix what needs to be fixed, fast and with serious expertise. In terms of pricing, they're extremely honest, and overall, they're just a pleasure to do business with. That's something I can rarely say about businesses I interact with. We feel so thankful to have them. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! This is by far the best place to get your car worked on. We have been going to this family owned business for over 25 years! Justin goes above and beyond and they are the most honest people you can ever hope for. They always have the customer's interest at heart. They check everything when going in for service and always figure out the issue. They are so trustworthy, you will never be over charged! read more

I found Airport Motors on the Click & Clack website 15 years ago when I first moved to town (the NPR radio program of two brothers talking about cars and laughing a lot). They had a page of their fans recommending local mechanics, and Airport Motors got the most mention of any of those listed for this area. As others have said, it's a trustworthy family run business; they are interested in keeping old cars running as long as possible and don't run up your bill to support their desire for a yacht! I highly recommend Airport Motors! read more

I approached airport motors to get a check engine light fixed because of its good reviews and my experience with Justin exceeded any expectations I had. There a cylinder misfire on my car, but after changing the position of the spark plug didn't pop an error after driving it around a bit. Since it wasn't clear what was wrong, Justin didn't charge me and sent me on my way. My friends that work at dealerships told me that Justin really helped me out and that this treatment is usually unheard of. read more

While traveling to the area for Thanksgiving, the Check Engine light came on in my Volvo. I called Airport Motors and they said to bring it right over. Justin walked out to greet me with the diagnostic tool, ran the tests and walked me through how to get it fixed when we returned home (the car is under warranty and is safe to drive). The cost was truly minimal, and my mind was at ease about the return trip. I'm definitely thankful I found Airport Motors, and recommend them highly! read more

Very happy! Took my van in and no charge to find problem. Was told itbwould take a couple.of days for parts. Ok to drive but take it easy. Set up a date to start and finish. They did great work, great price! Honest people. They even check van out and no other problems read more

My college-age daughter had car troubles half way back to school from San Diego. Airport Motors was recommended by a friend of hers. We called him and he cheerfully told us she could bring it directly in. She managed to get the car the rest of the way to Goleta, and Justin took care of it for her, and had it fixed the next day for a nominal fee. We are so grateful for his kindness and professionalism. Was really a great experience for my daughter and a big relief to us! Thank you, Justin! read more

I am from out of town and was in the area for a wedding with my wife and 2 year old. My alternator started to fail and I knew I was in trouble. Justin spared no efforts in helping me to obtain battery warranty from our local retailer despite our car is no longer in Goleta. Other repair shops would simply find some excuses to dodge assisting! Thank you thank you! read more

I was a damsel in distress. My car battery died and I had to have my car towed to a shop. I called several mechanic shops and asked if I could be towed to them. All made it known that they were not accepting tows and too busy to help. I called Airport Motors and they gladly took me in. Justin, the owner, was so understanding and reliable, it was such a relief! I was even offered a hug by Alex! They fixed my car in no time. I was both happy and sad by there expedient service because I could spend all day at this shop! Lastly, Julia and Tyler were gems and fun to watch! I'll be back for more car service! read more

Literal lifesavers! My daughter's car battery was totally dead. We were able to get a jumpstart from AAA but they didn't have the battery in stock because they had been replacing a lot of batteries lately due to the cold weather onset. I called Justin after seeing all the great recommendations on here and the UCSB parents forum on FB. He was super helpful, said they had the battery and could do some additional testing to make sure nothing else was an issue. Brought the car in and they were able to test and replace the battery, no other issues. And it was done within 35-ish minutes thanks to Tyler. Battery and replacement cost was very reasonable and there was a 30-month warranty on the battery from the date of the receipt and if any issues to come back and they would replace it with a brand new one, no pro-rating. Definitely recommend giving them a call, they are very straightforward and reliable and Jasmin is the cutest shop puppy ever. We spent our wait time playing with her . read more

Are you interested in taking your car to an honorable, trustworthy, knowledgeable, fair and, outstanding mechanic? If so, Justin at Airport Motors is your man. Airport Motors is a family owned business that opened in 1982 with Justin's father Jeff and his four sons. Justin now runs the business with the same integrity as his father. My name is Trudy Bixby and I have been a grateful customer of Airport Motors for over 30 years!!! In fact just recently my 2013 Hyundai Sonata's engine seized up on my partner Oscar. The car was towed to Justin and he spent hours attempting to start the engine but to no avail. Next he researched possible warranty options and gave us the information we needed for the Hyundai Dealership. At the end, for all his time and effort, the fee he charged me was more than fair. in my opinion Justin is Angel, maybe you can't see the wings, but they are there. He is not only a great mechanic but he is so kind and caring and easy to work with. I cannot say enough about Justin and Airport Motors. Please when you give Justin a call, tell him that Trudy and Oscar sent you. Airport Motors 5950 Olney St. Goleta, CA 93117 (805) 681-7297 read more

Very poor service, almost like looting people, these days people say "support your local business. But businesses like this should be totally boycotted. Couple of weeks ago I went there as there was a cylinder misfire problem in my Nissan Altima. So I asked them to change my sparks and coils of all the cylinders, as the car was already 100k, The big boss said it's not required,he only changed one coil and charged me 248$. After 3 days one more coil got bad so I had to go Jiffy lube they changed everything all plugs and coil and charged me 548$. Totally disappointed I should have went to jiffy lube before read more

Went to Nissan Dealership to fix a recall item on a 2013 Nissan lumina. Dealership told my son that he needed suspension work done immediately plus a bunch of other things. Definitely the best car service I've ever had! I went here twice so far (once for a severe fuel leak and once for a general tune up), and both times it was incredible service (on the car and from a customer service perspective) and very reasonably priced. Justin clearly knows what he's doing and makes you feel cared about as a customer. He makes sure your car leaves in the best shape possible and also is very considerate/mindful of budget constraints, which was HUGELY appreciated. I would not trust my car to be serviced anywhere else. read more

Airport Motors is the first place I go for help with my car. If they can't fix it, I know they will send me to the right person. I just got my oil changed yesterday and they did a great job. By calling a day in advance I was able to set up an appointment and the cost was extremely reasonable. Most important to me, Jeff is an honest guy. We've all had experiences with car guys where we're left feeling uncertainty at best, and ripped off at worst. Jeff and his crew will tell it like it is - whether that is good news or bad - and then lay out all the options for resolution. I feel fortunate to have discovered Airport Motors. read more

I have a Prius whose dash lights lit up like a Christmas tree. I had an autoshop teacher at a high school I work at run the codes and he told me I needed a very expensive replacement of the ABS module. I called the Toyota dealer and they said 4-5k for the repair. I took it to Justin and he looked at the codes and assessed what was going on and thought I might just be low on brake fluid. He added the fluid and cleared the codes and the car has been driving great and the brakes feel like normal (not spongy anymore). He didn't charge me anything and sent me on my way. (And he did this the same day and right away when I showed up up despite being obviously very busy!) My car very well need a repair in near future, and an expensive one at that, but I now know beyond a shadow of a doubt I'll be taking it to Justin at Airport Motors. Their professionalism and manner of treating clients instills a level of trust that is invaluable. They could have squeezed money out of me for an expensive repair, but instead they tried to actually figure out what was wrong and fix it in the most economical way possible. I couldn't be more impressed with how they obviously value their reputation and their relationships with clients over a quick buck. They earned my trust no doubt. read more

I went to the Subaru dealership in Ventura to have my Impreza checked, just to make sure all things are running smoothly and to take care of general maintenance. After not even having my car looked at the day of my appointment, they came back with an almost $9,000 bill of recommended repairs. I said I wanted to get a second opinion and Justin at Airport Motors was recommended to me. Best thing to even happen! He was prompt, honest and straightforward. He did the work well and quickly and shaved my original bill of recommended work to 85% cheaper. If you have a Subaru, skip the dealership and go to Justin at Airport Motors. I learn very slowly, and he answered all my questions which may have seemed dumb to him. He was very positive and it turns out my problem will only cost a few hundred dollars. He was honest and forthright. Who says you can't find an honest mechanic! I can, and from now on I will be bringing my car to Justin and his employees at airport motors! read more

Justin did a great job fixing my son's vehicle. Did the work the same day and at a very reasonable price.

I was having problems with my 2015 Mazda CX5 frequently not starting. When the AAA technician came out the car would immediately start when the cable was jumped. I was told that the 1 year old battery was strong so I must have left something on. About the 6th time this happened) I figured it can't be me every time. After AAA came and I had the car running I called Airport Motors who had put the battery in a year earlier. I spoke to my mechanic Justin Hurnblad who instructed me to bring the car right in and not to turn the engine off. When I arrived I could see they were swamped but Justin was there waiting and waved me right in and immediately hooked the car up to some kind of equipment which showed the battery was fine but the alternator was barely alive. Even though they were very busy he considered this an emergency, gave me an estimate, ordered the part and told me he could fix it that day. His office girl Julia was very pleasant and gave me a ride home. I brought the car in at 9:30 am and got a call at 2:00 pm that the car was ready. Justin gave me a bill the same amount as quoted that morning and had the old part in his hand showing me the damage. I was so impressed with the prompt, efficient, friendly manner I received and for the honesty, skill and knowledge displayed that I recommend Airport Motors to anyone needing car repairs. This has been a local family operated business for over 30 years and I know that I can depend on them at any time. Thanks Justin! read more
