Got my sprinter van fixed for engine issues and they did a great job. Tony is great to work with. They got it back up and running. This was a diesel sprinter van and there are not many shops in Santa Barbara that work with diesel. I'm glad I found them. read more

This place saved our vacation weekend. Our Chevy Silverado truck brakes and wheels locked up as we were getting off the fwy. We barely managed to drive the truck to this shop (thank God). We were desperate to get it fixed. They were extremely helpful and kind to take care of our truck right away. They did not take advantage of us or our situation. Very fair pricing. Extremely grateful, for their service and kindness. read more

I recently had the pleasure of excellent customer service from Tony and Luis at Westside auto repair. I'm from the Bay Area and my daughter goes to school in SB. We recently had a/c work performed in Bay Area, upon her return to SB a "chirping" sound appeared. We looked for Mechanics on Yelp and called Westside Auto Repair. Tony was excellent listening to issue explained they were busy and his service advisor Luis would coordinate the repair. My daughter dropped car off Friday morning and repair was complete a couple hours later. Overall my experience was exceptional. I would highly recommend Tony and Luis from Westside Auto Repair (especially to parents with college students) to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled mechanic who truly cares about their Customers. read more

Westside Auto Repair doesn't try to over sell you or repairs you may need in the future. If there is a quality difference to go with a price difference on necessary parts, they let you know so you can decide. They do honest work and are very transparent on their billing. And all of them are pleasant people with which to do business. T. Burgher read more

An absolute gem of a service shop! These are some of the most efficient and wonderful mechanics in town! Not only are they quick and effective, their prices are always fantastic compared to everyone else! Oh my goodness! I had to drive from Ontario California all the way to Santa Barbara because my brothers van broke and he was stranded out there. We had it towed to West Side Auto because someone told us that was a good place. He needed new tire rods. I cannot give this place enough stars! The person who helped us was Ivan. What a great guy! He was so nice and so helpful. He explained everything that needed to be done in detail to us. And the price for everything was so reasonable. They did not take advantage of us at all. My brothers van had on a spare tire and they even fixed his tire and put it back on the van for him! If you need work done on your car I absolutely recommend this place 110%! read more

On 9/01/20 I got referred to Westside auto repair from a business who was shutting down because of COVID. Wanting to give business to my local peeps I decided to try this one out. The moment I got out I was not disappointed! I was met by a honest, easy to talk to man named Ivan. He was beyond nice, helpful, and quick. I got a diagnostic done on my vehicle he fixed what was needed or could around my budget which was less than I thought. I can't say enough how impressed I was of this lil auto place. But walking up you could tell that their work was above n beyond. I was not disappointed. The prices were more than fair n the service was remarkable! Definitely going back! read more

They charged us $200 just to test a battery!! Most other repair facilities like Pep boys will test your car battery for free. They lost a valuable fleet account for good! read more

I went to the business because about half a dozen people said they do outstanding work. I was amazed at the way the group worked so well together and I had his full attention about the car. He answered all my questions with the truth...I loved that! The nice printout was very clear. As a 74 year old, I appreciated their kindness. It is rare in these times. Even though the work was done about six months ago, I didn't want to loose the chance to tell of my experience. The young man who gave me a ride home that day was extremely careful and so kind, thank you!!! read more

He keeps overcharging my mother for just getting an estimate on something we already know what's needed. Last Friday she took her car for a quote. The smog people had already diagnosed and another mechanic had already diagnosed but didn't have time to fix. She went there for a price quote and she was asked to leave the car??? When she came back for the quote they gave her a price of $1000 for a catalytic converter replacement we already knew about plus a charge of $100. Last time he quoted a transmission replacement and radiator replacement for $4500 and $70 quote fee. The car just needed transmission fluid and heat sensor for the fan. $120 total cost. If you can't afford a pricey car remodel avoid this place. read more

Highly recommend these guys for any mechanical needs! I have brought my car here for years now and have had excellent results.

I had an oil change and tire replacement. Ivan worked with me on other issues identified on my old Highlander, and I really appreciated his informative communication style. The decision on which problems I had fixed was up to me, based on his experienced recommendations. read more

I had to let the local community know what an outstanding and honest shop this is. I was on vacation with my wife celebrating our anniversary in Santa Barbara. Suddenly my truck began smoking and when I pulled over it was leaking diesel fuel badly! I limped into their shop thinking the worst case scenario. The next day Andrew calls me and says it was just a loose fuel line. He tightened it and we were all good and on our way! He literally saved our vacation!!! All sorts of scenarios were going thru my head. I was prepared to pay over a thousand dollars but he charged me so fairly I don't even want to say the cost. What I will say is these guys are honest, they have a top of the line clean shop, they know what they are doing and even service diesels. They just don't make em like this anymore. As a small business owner myself I know the real deal when I see it. If you want repairs or maintenance done to your car or truck right. Check these guys out!!!! You will not be disappointed. I would like to thank Andrew and west side auto, they had me over a barrel and I was at their mercy and they proved to be honest, outstanding people who take pride in their work. I would not hesitate for a moment to refer them to family and friends!!!! read more

My first and last time here I took my car in for a standard timing belt change (requires 4 belts). Within a half hour of dropping my car off I saw someone driving it on the freeway. Okay, so they had to run an errand... but when I asked them about it they said they had to make sure nothing was wrong with my car. So, job is completed and I happily drive it around for 3 months until I need to have something else repaired. I take it to a different mechanic, who notices that some of the belts were never changed. I called westside and he said he must have forgotten that I requested him to do this work. He then offered to change the belts for free labor but by this time I don't want him touching my car ever again and opt to take it to another mechanic. Forget this place!!! read more

Andrew and his team are the most honest mechanics we have ever used. They have worked on our Prius and Toyota pick up truck for years and we always get amazing customer service! read more

I dropped in at Westside Auto Repair with no appointment - I needed a lightbulb replaced on our SUV. I was happily greeted by Ivan and he gave me easy-to-understand details and straightforward cost on the service. I got a call from Ivan an hour later saying he found some other parts that should/could easily be replaced. I was grateful that he checked other areas and not just what I asked for. Upon returning to pick up my car, Ivan showed me all of the old parts he removed, and boxes to the new parts he replaced everything with; he walked me through the invoice and showed me where on the car the parts were replaced. I really appreciated this, so I could better understand what services were completed. I asked Ivan about other parts we want to replace on this same car and he immediately gave me informed quotes - which was extremely more fair than the Ford/Mazda dealership prices we had been given. We look forward to coming back to Westside again - for all our future needs. read more
