We have purchased various flooring from Airbase Carpet and Tile in the last 7 years. Tile, manufactured wood, etc. it's always been a great buying experience with staff and the pricing cannot be beat. We have not contracted with them for any installments since we use our local professional and live out of state. On one occasion we did return a product unopened because we over ordered. No problem! This is the only flooring store we use and it's fantastic for purchase and carry option. Highly recommend for any home or office needs. Installation quality is trash, customer service with an issue is trash. Spent 5k on carpet less then 30 days later the seams are coming undone. Scheduled a fix appointment and took the afternoon off and they no show. Call them to be dismissed and avoided. Started back in Sept 2017. We had purchased a home and decided to change out all the flooring then the nightmare begins . Paid to have the rooms measured , selected the flooring , put down the deposit to "hold the sale of free padding, installation and removal " . Which none of this is free in the inflated pricing . Scheduled install the next thing I know I'm getting a phone call that there was a mistake in the pricing and needed another 800.00 bucks . So I go in and pay that and once my floor was installed I noticed there was no quarter round to cover the gap on my hardwood flooring . I go back to the store to check on why and got answer that the guy who measured did not factor that into the job . However for an additional fee it could be resolved . Six months later purchase another home and again have the guy measure the rooms and I get a call with the price for my install and of coarse the additional fees of install, removal and everything else they nickel and dime you out of . We go over the job with associate and I notice the carpet was not even included in this overpriced job . I give everyone the benefit of the doubt that things happen but 2 x in six months no way. There seems to be a pattern . You go in there and your overwhelmed with the array of carpet, tile , flooring etc you just get caught up in the moment . And they prey on that you will just surrender your hard earned cash . Not me this time I decided I wanted my deposit back . And went to a smaller mom and pop business who appreciates my business and offers free measuring , complete detailed instructions with no hidden costs . Air Base carpet you got me the first time with almost 6700.00 but you lost me on the 2nd one. I will never step foot in your store again and I hope whoever reads this will think twice before the give up their hard earned money for a "frilly " over priced store . read more

Got an estimate to replace the carpet in our home with hardwood. This started weekly phone calls from the sales man Mike. Even after we asked for the calls to stop they continued. When we finally were ready to purchase, we paid to have someone come out to measure the floors. We expressed our concerns and pointed out what we were going to be very picky on. Everything was written down. We are using a construction loan. So the bank controls the money and we request draws. When we went to purchase the materials and installation we made sure the store was aware, they even asked for a letter from the bank. Once the flooring was delivered the nightmare started. We had to get the manager involved. The salesman screwed up our order, nearly every aspect of the order. We discovered the guy who came out to measure the floors was not qualified to do the measurements. Not all of the material was delivered, the installers were expecting cash or check payment at the installation. We explained the cash draw process. They had to call the store because they were not told. No one knew were expected the flooring to under the door jams. They don't know how any of the transitions will work especially on the stairwells. We have been working with the management and things have gotten a lot better. Our floors look great and the installers have been very professional. Thank you management. read more

I bought an 8' x 10' area rug and paid over $400 for it. After borrowing a truck, taking it home, and laying it on the floor, I noticed several areas where many random fibers were taller than the others and I keep finding more. When I tug on them just a little, they pull right out. So, I decided to use scissors and snip the long ones (which there a lot) to make them even. I never noticed this issue while at the store when I bought it, and I'm not in the habit of buying rugs often so I wouldn't have known to look for it. I went back to the store and told them about this. They looked at me like "Sorry" "There's nothing we can do because it was marked as a final sale". I feel like they probably knew this rug had this problem and didn't tell me. I spent over $400 on a defective rug and they won't make it right. Finally, they just said I can come back 4 days from now and talk to the store manager. We'll see what he says, but the staff I talked to today were very non-sympathetic. read more

Huge carpet selection, fast service, great knowledgeable staff. But here is where I have trouble. The cost of the carpet is good very good in fact. BUT.... You pay extra for carpet removal, extra for them to take it, oh do you have furniture in your room that's extra too. Now we haven't yet charged you for the installation thats like 3$ more a yard or something. Getting laminate? There is a charge for the glue. And of course they will charge you $35 first for measuring but that will be deducted at the end. Needless to say the wonderful carpet we picked out for a little more than 200 came out to almost 600 after all the tacked on fees. I just feel like they get you excited about a deal but the end number really isnt that great. I have had them install carpet before they do good work. The installer wasnt as friendly as the sales guy but I'm sure he is independent from them. I went there this weekend for some other rooms and I was upset all over again with the tack ons. Don't know if ill actually go thru with the purchase this time before I shop around. read more

I don't recommend Carpet & Tile Mart for carpeting. I caution the consumer to review the process to order, measure and install carpeting through this company. When I initially selected and ordered the carpet I was quoted an estimate and installation time period. Within the week an associate was at the house measuring the areas. One room was measured to be 3 inches wider than the carpet ordered so an addition 6 feet of carpet was needed, adding almost 300 dollars to the bill. 3 weeks later the carpet arrived and an installation date and time was set, another week and half. 2 days prior to the installation the times were changed from early morning to afternoon. Prior to the installers arrival, I removed the carpeting, padding and scheduled time off. I waited all day and at 4pm called to find out where the installers were, I was told they would be there in 30 minutes. Once the installers arrived they told me the room where additional carpet was needed couldn't be installed without having a seam in the walk area, no matter how it was installed. They recommended only using the 12 wide carpeting to prevent a seam. This could be done because the base board heat would conceal the edge. I decided to go ahead and allow the installation. What this created was access carpet, about 7 feet. Four and half hours later the installation was complete and found out the installer didn't have the gold trim only silver. To complete the job I told them to install it, 2 pieces of 10 dollar trim cost me 48 dollars. This whole process was flawed, 3 weeks to get carpet, 1 week and a half to install and why didn't the estimator who measured the rooms catch the baseboard heat that would have easily concealed the carpet edge saving hundreds of dollars. Take your time and find another company to do business with. read more

Great customer service from the very beginning. Very attentive to what we were looking for and our needs. They were very accommodating and the Teamwork at the Dover store was obvious. Everything worked out flawless. From the selection of the floor and tile to the time of installation, the communication was constant. The installer took great pride in his work and also communicated everyday during installation. He was dependable and kept things clean after each work day. Salesman was very good. Ordering and scheduling went well. The installation is the issue. Ugly short cut was taken on hardwood floor install. Laid down wood and just used quarter round to close it out. Proper way is to remove trim, put down floor then re install trim. "Like the rest of my house." Manager says this is their normal. We should have said we wanted it done right. My mind set is that getting it right should not be a block you check on a work order. We had our entire home carpet, about 2400 sq ft installed, no noticeable clean up was done afterward. My wife spent 5 hours vacuuming the carpet. According to AB carpet" we have tried to get our sub contractors to vacuum after installs but we can't get them to do it." WOW on that statement. 3 days before install I refinished and stained my front porch. The installers took cigarette breaks on my front porch. Now I need to restrain the wood due to burn marks. After all this, last night in bare feet I stepped on a piece of metal threshold that probably when trimmed, went sailing across the room into my master bath, that is a room not even in the work scope. Can I say that that hurt? During my wife's clean up, 4 large nails were found. We have 2 dogs and if either one cut thier foot like I did, we would have had a MAJOR in store event. The GM called me today to discuss. The hardwood floor issue I will say is a dead issue. No time to have it done over correctly and personally, now I'm worried they can't. He offered a $265 discount that we excepted. Cleaning/vacuuming after a carpet install to me is like buying a car and it not being clean. First impressions mean everything and I walked into a carpet remnant nightmare. After my wife's work, the basic carpet install was satisfactory. We paid a large amount for high quality wood, and it was improperly installed which led to the floor buckling within a month. We tried numerous times to have the installer come back to repair the floor, but we have had nothing but a big runaround. The store also has done nothing to even try to make it right. It has been a year now, so we have gone to another contractor to have it repaired . We have been advised to seek legal assistance, and we just might. It's been a real bad experience with them. read more
