I was really pleased by the process for getting our AC replaced. This bid was actually less than the competitors, and they had not been around as long as Harster! It was an easy choice. We scheduled to do the replacement in January. Jim and his team came out to do the install and addressed some additional needs to increase the air flow, make the existing unit up to proper code, and make the filter track so it fit filters appropriately. The last unit installation I'm sure was a DIY job or done by a less qualified company. Jim addressed all those issues. I was on a meeting when he was all finished and didn't get to go see the finished product until after he left. It was beautifully done and very neat.

The tech came in told us…read morethat we were 2 lbs low on freon. 20 min later he came and said we need a whole new unit. 2nd guy came out said our air conditioning is fine and that we need a new coil. 3rd guy came out and $1675 later we have a new coil and now our air conditioner is freezing and its 80 degrees in our house. The 4th guy come out he said that it's our furnace that needs to be cleaned so another $114 an hour. Nothing was wrong with our air this was an annual cleaning the first guy did something and they will not take responsibility for it. The 3rd guy told us that they put way to much freon in the unit.

The lady on the phone was very nice and scheduled a tech to come out the very next day in the morning. My time window was 8am-12am. I received a text and an email confirming my appointment. On the email link, you can also see the name and picture of the tech that will be coming out. The next day I received an alert at about 10am notifying me that the tech was on the way. The status email showed me his GPS location! I thought this was a really nice feature, it gave me an idea of about how far he was away. Justin was my HVAC tech. He wore a mask and shoe covers when he entered the house. I explained the issue I was having, and he first took a look indoors. He quickly found the problem was a leak in the evaporator coil. Justin presented me with all my options and facts and let me make my own decision. At no point was he pushy or trying to sell me extra services. I had some other HVAC questions, and he welcomed those and answered them and provided good suggestions. Since one of the options was a full replacement of my unit, on the same day I received a call from the Dole sales rep. He said he was able to come out that same day to give me some options of replacing the AC unit. He was courteous, came out, took a look, and we spoke through options. I was provided quotes on the same day within about 15 mins. I was very impressed with Dole and will definitely be using them again for any HVAC related jobs!

I explained further I am not interested due to the cost as I would like to get several quotes and several I have spoken to do not charge a fee. Climate Masters have been servicing our boiler for the better part of thirty years. They knew what they were doing and were EXTREMELY informative. They showed me how our system worked, they took the time to explain everything from lighting the pilot light to bleeding the radiators. The tech even gave me a key to bleed the air from the radiators. They state they specialize in older homes and they did right by our 96 year old system! Highly highly highly recommended.

After Climate Masters finished the job, I was surprised to realize ... wow, even mechanical systems…read morecould be visually attractive. This was because the installers, Scott and Ethan, did an absolutely meticulous and exacting job. Our house is a 6400 sqft three story built in 1906. During the winter, the hvac system we had in place was never able to properly heat up the home. While driving one day, I spotted one of the Climate Masters' trucks with the motto, "we specialize in older homes" and wondered if they could fix our hvac setup. Tom came to assess and bid the job, and I must give thanks to how patient he was during the process. I took an excessive amount of time to decide, and yet Tom followed up throughout this period. Climate Masters ended up installing a large 140K BTU gas furnace, ran new black iron gas piping, and redid sections of our duct work. Part of the work involved cutting through a kitchen floor with brick veneer. Scott was able to shape the vent opening beautifully. The result was that for the first time ever, the house felt ... toasty during cold weather. When Spire came to activate the gas, servicemen on two separate occasions saw the installation and, without prompting, asked me which company did the job. When I asked why, they both said, "oh, it's because they did a great job!" Everyone I interacted with throughout the process has been wonderful: Scott and Ethan came promptly at 8 am each day and finished a huge job in 1.5 weeks; Doug was great with follow up logistics, and Jennifer always friendly and helpful with office paperwork.
