I'm honestly really disappointed. Yelp reviews never let me down, until now. I tried calling Gustavo and left 2 voicemails yesterday and today. Despite him not returning my phone calls, I even requested a quote through YELP and wrote him a message explaining the problem I have, in hopes of him finally reaching out. Still, nothing. On yelp, his business has 5 stars and his "response rate" is 90%, so I'm a little surprised how all these other reviewers were able to get in contact with him. Either he must be very busy, on vacation, or I'm unlucky to fall within that 10% of no response. EDIT: I recently received a call from Gustavo, and from what he has told me, he has been on a job where he receives little to no reception, which I completely understand. For some odd reason, he didn't receive my phone calls or voicemails yesterday and today. In the beginning, I found it "suspicious" that I finally get a call-back after I posted my 1-star review, but after conversing with him, we realized it was a simple miscommunication. Unfortunately I had already found someone else for the job I needed, but I will definitely keep him and his company in my phone book for future repairs. He was very apologetic about not receiving any calls or voicemails, otherwise he would've contacted me sooner, which I greatly appreciate. Gustavo T. Is a an excellent professional. I rarely give 5 stars but he deserves it. He replaced our AC system in our new home according to the code and everything by the dot. He is friendly, quick and professional. He replaced all ducts and the entire system and all the wires under 2 days. Gustavo gave us a great price and it was more than just compatible with others. You will shop for the longest to come even close to that kind of service. If I had to do it over again I would still go with him. He even came back and did wall touch ups where he had to do some rewiring. He works fast and no mess is left behind. It's unfortunate you try to support small businesses. Read some of the yelp reviews and decided to give the company a shot and it bit me in the butt. Basically reached out, communicated on the telephone and Gustavo was more than willing to do the work. We spoke of me texting him a good time on a few options that he gave me and he never responded. Fast forward to five days later after contacting twice he responded via text saying because of his jobs lined up he's too busy. Now any other circumstances I might've believed but he was way too open with times When we spoke. I believe he didn't want to take the job... # 1 He found out I had dogs and he asked me if they had fleas. I informed him no they do not and his response was "I'm going to be honest with you so he wanted me to be honest with him." ( As if i was not honest) thereafter is where the ignoring issues came in. #2 I don't think he wanted to crawl under the house. I understand it's a dirty job, but its part of the job. Did not appreciate the horrible customer service and would've rather him say he didn't want to take the job then to go about it the way he did. Most handymen don't want to work on an ugly property, and I don't blame them. It's hard to get someone who will cheerfully apply an appropriately inexpensive fix to a cheap, low-rent property. I like Gustavo because he does this and doesn't bitch about how ugly and difficult my 120-year old decrepit house is. He just gets to work, at a fair price, and comes back to finish it when he says he will, without being reminded. He did a number of small jobs all in a row, charging by the hour, and had many creative solutions for saving time and money. He's worth whatever he quotes you, very professional but not a snob. I had a potentially leaky roof the one night Los Angeles decides to pour!! Searching for someone to go to house late into the afternoon was difficult as it was, but I managed to find Gustavo who made the trip out through heavy traffic. Intentionally, I was planning on having the roof covered with tarp, but since it already started to rain when Gustavo arrived, we decided to take care of any interior leaks.
