Very pleased with my first experience with Air Masters. I just bought my first home and had the furnace inspected to ensure we'll be ready for winter. The office staff was very patient and helpful setting up the appointment. We got timely service the very next day. Our technician, Devin, was great about explaining/showing us any issues he found with our electric furnace. He was able to give us no-pressure options and emailed a quote for further service before he left our home. Buyer beware. If you buy a 90% efficiency gas furnace, you will have problems in freezing weather. Air Masters installed such a furnace for us 6 years ago and every time we get freezing weather it quits working. These furnaces have a condensate line that is installed to drip into the gutter. When the water in the gutter freezes, forming an ice dam, the furnace will eventually quit running. We have to go up on a ladder and disconnect the plastic hose from the copper tube, allowing the condensate to drip straight to the ground. I just spoke with someone at Air Masters and was told there is no solution to this, that even her furnace does this. She tried to minimize this problem due to the fact that we don't get freezing weather that often. I wonder how much money they make going on service calls for this problem, which is clearly caused by a poor design. We plan to install a longer plastic line that goes to the ground. read more

Wonderful company if you need an emergency visit like we did! Our furnace died on Easter Sunday and it was getting cold in our house fast. My husband spent several hours trying to find the problem hoping he could fix it himself, but eventually he realized we needed a professional. We called every "24 Hour Emergency" heating company in the phone book and Air Masters was the only one that answered our call and said they would come that day even though it was a holiday. We did have to pay a little extra, but it was well worth the peace of mind that our family would have heat that night. Our total bill was about $265, which isn't terrible for an emergency call on a holiday. The technician was very nice and professional. He walked my husband through everything he worked on and showed him how it was done. If our furnace ever dies again I won't hesitate to call Air Masters. read more

During our most recent wind storm the pilot light on my ancient and weird natural gas furnace went out. It was the weekend and my equally ancient house was freezing. Gas company used to come relight the pilot light, but those were the old days. Left a message with Air Masters and they came on Monday. Not only did they quickly get the pilot light going and heat pouring out, they figured out what the gas company never did. There was no need to actually insert a match to the pilot light as the gas company had always done. It was just a matter of pressing a button and turning a knob. Polite, professional, and helpful. I have used Air Masters since I purchased my home 7 years ago. We have had the three year service agreement and now had to have a repair done. I have always liked the service and the technicians that come out. This time was no exception. Rashad re-diagnosed the situation a week ago and came out to fix up the heat pump today. Very friendly, knowledgeable and he took the time to explain things to me, so that I would understand. I appreciate that. I was not too excited about the price as it was originally quoted at $327 by another technician a few months ago. But, I could see the difference in what Rashad said and SHOWED me, versus what the previous technician had said. Overall, I like Air Masters flexibility and dedication to service. read more

After my heat pump stopped working I anticipated a large bill, a long time to fix the heat pump, and the delay in getting the part from China to Bremerton. What I did not expect, and the reason for the low rating, is the attitude from the tech. I've met angry old men who are more congenial, helpful, and willing to answer relevant questions. Given the unusually hot start we got to summer was compounded by the fact we have a new born (and a 3 year old); we were not fairing well in the heat. We had always regretted not having central air installed when the house was built, so it had always been on our list, albeit the bottom. Well, couple a week straight of 90 degree weather and a new born fighting a fever, our priorities quickly shifted. I found Air Masters here on Yelp, among a few other top rated installers in the Kitsap and/or south sound region. Walt arrived onetime and walked through our house conducting what appeared to be a thorough analysis of our air handling situation. After asking me what I was looking for (see: heat pump with the benefit of cooling) he started to lay out my options. He pointed out that my current furnace was not very old, and of a type that I would not see any efficiency gained over installing a heat pump given I was already running Natural Gas with a rather low monthly average bill. He suggested that since I was primarily concerned about cooling my house for the kids, that a straight up AC unit would be best; as well as, less expensive than upgrading to another furnace and then adding a heat pump (where'd I'd spend more than I would likely see a return on investment over the next 10-15 years). My current furnace was efficient enough to heat and strong enough to add a [Lennox] AC unit; however he quoted both solutions (furnace/heat-pump then just AC), the difference was night and day. After entertaining a few other contractors, I promptly signed a contract with Air Masters and they scheduled me for an appointment. To my surprise, a week later they had a cancelation and asked if I'd like my installation a week early; I gladly said yes and took the day off work. The installer and electricians showed up on time and got straight to work. They took care to insure the installation was as neat and tidy as possible. They opted to go under the house with the AC stuff, and through the attic with the electrical to keep the side of my house as untampered as possible. The AC installer was a one man show and had it done by 3pm. The tech arrived 2 hours later to charge and test the system and we were good to go. I chose Air Masters based on: cost, the Lennox brand and the time and expertise Walt presented when he was here. I am glad I went with Air Masters over the other contractors who bid the project. They were on time, professional, checked in enough to show they cared - without coming across pushy. They made my residential project seem as if it were just as important to them as a lucrative commercial job. The end product looks great and is keeping my family cool and comfortable. I would choose them again, and plan on them doing the yearly maintenance on my system from here on out. read more

well well my time has come to review you guys.....First off I wanted to thank my sales guy (cant remember his name sorrrrry) but he first came to the house when we had just bought it. We had about 3-4 different trades out and he put up with me being distracted. He was quick on the quote and getting us ready for our new water heater and heating system. Office ladies were awesome when calling about getting you guys to come out for install. Worked with my crazy work hours, the day came of getting the units installed. The guys that came out did an awesome job at getting everything set up and dialed in. I have tested the water heater out every morning if not sometimes at night(shhh I told my wife the water bill is high due to leaking hose bib). I would love to try the heater out but thats not happening with this beautiful weather we have had. Also sales guy came back out with all the rebate paper work filled out and even some already sent in which was a huge relief. My wife and I are busy with work and other task that it would have 100% been forgotten. Now I will go with you guys when it is AC install time, I figure getting that installed in the winter would fit along the lines of me getting a heater in the summer. Every step of the installation of our heat pump system went smoothly, from our initial contact (an email request for a quote on their website) to the final paperwork. We got a call the same day we sent the email. The sales rep, Mike, was thorough and helpful. On the big day, Michael and Chase arrived on time, went straight to work, worked closely with the electrician, and finished up in less than seven hours. They were courteous, keeping me informed of what was being done and walking me through programming the remote controls and all facets of maintaining our system. A few days later, Mike brought over the completed paperwork for warranty registration and rebates, along with an addressed, stamped envelope to mail in our rebate form! OMG! Our furnace went out this morning and temperatures outside are in the 30's. We phoned Air Masters and the very professional and nice young lady on the other end told me that they were very busy but could send someone out between 5-6 pm but at time and a half. We didn't really have a choice so we said ok. She phoned me back about two hours later and said that she had a cancelation but if we could be home around 1pm they would fit us in. I got home at 12:30 and Kyle was sitting in front of the house waiting for me. He was quick, professional, diagnosed the problem, had the part (a board) in his truck, and we were up and running in no time at all. I am very happy with this company. We had been a long time customer of a local company here in Port ORchard but they could not fit us in until several days later. I believe we have just switched our Heating and A/C to Air Masters. Dear Mark, I left this review and others on different sites as well. Yes we are warm thanks. Yes of course I called in to your office expecting to talk to someone other than a secretary. I work with lots of heating contractors in seattle on a daily basis. I diagnosed my problem the night before and your tech being a nice guy and all seemed pretty green. For the folks reading that don't know what green is, it is a person that is new to the field. Anyway his diagnostic was calling Honeywell so they could tell him what was wrong. If you guys are so superior why didn't he run a full diagnostic on my furnace? Is it running efficiently? Is there and could in the living space? What is the draft? How does the heat exchanger look? We can go round and round all day long I know what great customer service is because I provide it everyday. I also know when a contactor is taking advantage of me and when I cannot do anything about it then yes I will be upset. Yes I will call and want to talk to someone. Why didn't you call me back sir? I waited for your call. She said you would call. Nope, just this lame rebuttal to my review. Don't worry I am sharing my experience with everyone I know. Good day... My neighbor moved here into Orchard Bluff senior manufactured home park in Port Orchard this past winter...this week temps moved into the 80's and when she turned on the A/C ...nothing but warm air...the home was close to 90 degrees when I talked to her the next day...(and she is also close to 90 years old!)..Air Masters inc had a sticker on the Furnace inside, so she called and the office told her the previous owner had called for service last year, and was quoted $2000 to repair..well you can imagine how upset this little Senior lady was as she was on SS and nothing else..on and off the phone to her daughter trying to come up with a plan..so I offered to take a look as I have seen contractors and plumbers come into this low income park and overcharge the Elderly too many times...you know what I found?..a blown GFI ..A circuit breaker?...I reset that and the Thermostat and got cold air and the temperature to 77...and a very relieved Nada and daughter...But the price Air Masters quoted her seemed outrageous..Richard on Carl Pickel drive read more

After having another bid from a company we had to call and recall for a bid, we decided to talk to Walt again. He came out. Again, explained the system and options professionally and thoroughly. I recently had Air Masters come out on a Saturday to fix our gas furnace. I didn't mind paying the overtime labor rate, but they charged me $595 for a $160 part. They new we had to have that part for heat. Never Again!! read more
